Mine was quite easy because I was a cool kid my parent would vouch for any day even before I gained admission to UNIBEN, It was in my 200level I turned atheist and I first told my dad on the phone, he's response was like. How could I have fogotten So it was a good thing I came online today.

We'll do it the way we did it in FrancisTony and Cassyrooy's time, but a little different. Since we (Johny and I) have no "family thread" I'm gonna open a thread specially for him and tag as many NLers as reachable. And that's the rule. Whoever wishes Johny here should at least tag three other friends. It's a party!! Invite them all. I'll be the host here. Feel free to mention whatever you wish to have for entertainment; food, snacks, drinks, babes, movies, music anything whatever. A request for a visit to space would be mostly welcome.......by him.

I made all my subjects in science dept except maths which I had D7. And the one of commercial dept I had distinctions, B's

Sadly, with a D7 in Maths you are not eligible for Geology.

Oh dear, I'd say MBBS used to be a hotcake. And what? You left electrical engineering for MBBS? Come on. It's widely known that engineers generally and logically have the highest salary scale in Nigeria (not only the oil and gas guys) Another advantage electrical engineering has over MBBS is that you can diversify. MBBS places you in a closed and locked position (health centres only) and doctors aint appreciated as before, or at least only the few consultants are, and you know what being a medical consultant will take.

An electrical engineer can work almost in any sector/place; banks, oil companies, hospotals, PHCN, studio/stage work (Project fame, Nigerian idol etc) etc. My boss is an electrical engineer and he is in money. He doesn't even go to work everyday. He works in the Power Holding Company of Nigeria.

It's your choice anyway. The way I see things may be different from the way you see them. I just think a science student leaving an engineering course is trying to replace diamonds with stones

And I'm not saying being a doctor is bad or profitless. It is good. You get reputation and all, and if you're lucky, you get a high pay too.

Hey slowpoke. UI sieving the best out of the multitude doesn't in any reasonable sense paint a bad picture of her. No normal person with his right mind would blame UI for such phenomenon that occurs at every end of her post UTME screening exercises. The blame is rather on the candidate who isn't fit and prepared enough to successfully struggle with other competitors and yet joins the league anyway.

It's also a shame that you're consequently saying UNILAG doesn't operate this way, that is they are not concerned with making the best candidates part of their institute, but rather choose any kind of breed, mostly the worst kind, obviously, and it's appalingly bad.

And I do not understand. Were you denied admission as a result of your helpless unfortunate poor performance that gets you so frustrated that you left your thread to come here and spew this rubbish?

I just got admitted for Geology and the combination I used were English language, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. It's sad to know most people think Geography must be among the combination for Geology in UI, and they are consequently cleared out for such mistake during clearance.

So bigneorapz you're good to go with that combination. Good luck.

Nonsense!" and never mind to look into the elementary and gradual process that could make a four-legged creature evolve into a whale acknowledging possible extinct creatures making a gap between the two. Go into specification and tell me why a whale can not evolve from such creature. Giving 'a lack of evidence' as a rebuttal is indirectly resorting to the 'obvious assertions', which is reasonable to consider childish and requires less serious reply.

Evolution or Abiogenesis , Panspermia Big Bang are all theories . If Big Bang were to be true , why should there be a new theory that asserts that the universe could be eternal . There is Abiogenesis and there's panspermia (like an escape route seeing that Abiogenesis is ridiculous).

You can keep bad mouthing science about its change in theories. It's an evidence showing their seriousness in finding truth and not a laziness in making up propositions that are prone to being false. Keep ridiculing and let them keep working, in the long run and eventually one is wise and the other a fool.

Her 'Hello' is more than superb. The only song of hers I don't really dig is 'Daydreamer' but 'Someone like you' and 'When will I see you again' are my other favorites of her songs. The Bible (a collection of selected books by men) is claimed to be inspired by a perfect all knowing God, internally and externally, so every thing therein must be perfect. If an error is found in it then either such God does not exist or the Bible is a lie, consequently making the whole thing absurd.

Unfortunately there are more than hundreds of errors (historical, geographical, scientific, theological, logical etc) distributed in the Bible.

Two of the many historical errors

• The darkness, earthquake and resurrection of the saints walking in the city of Jerusalem is nowhere else than the Bible (and only a place in the Bible; Matt 27) Such amazing event was never recored by any historian and no one knew such happened except Matthew - historical error.

• The mass slaughter of innocent babies by Herod at the time of Jesus's birth is nowhere in any record even in Josephus's who is known to record Herod's corrupt acts, of course, except a once mentioned event in the Bible.

To make it glaring that such passage was fabrigated, Matthew's reference of the event to the fulfillment of a prophecy in the OT has nothing to do with the slaughtering of innocent babies by Herod, obviously.

Two geographical errors

• Gaderene swine is several kilometres away from the sea of Galilee making it implausible for the herd to rush down a steep into the sea and get drown when Jesus was casting out demons from a man in Mark 5. The writer is ignorant of specific geographical region of Galilee.

• Mark 7:31 also says Jesus is going to the sea of Galilee passing through Sidon from Tyre. The both locations are opposite each other and there was no way leading to the sea of Galilee from Sidon, but there was from Tyre i.e the sea of Galilee is located in southeast from Tyre and Sidon is located in the north of Tyre. So there was no way Jesus could go to the sea of Galilee from Tyre through Sidon - a geographical error.

Two scientific errors

• The creation story in Genesis talks about God creating two lights which he named the sun and the moon. But we now know that the moon is not a light like the sun but a collection of dust and rocks that reflect the sun's light in space. But it would be very easy for science illiterates then (and now) to quickly conclude the moon was a light.

• In Lev. 11:13 bat is called a bird, but bat is a mammal and not a bird.

So many places in the Bible fails logic with regards to who God is... If God was all knowing and omnipresent

• Why did he have to come down from heaven to see the city and the tower that's been buildt in Gen 11?

• Why did he destroy humanity with a global flood knowing fully well that it wouldn't stop the wickedness he intended to stop?

Regarding, Galatians 2 and Colossians 3….those are good questions but it is not as you laid it out.

It really helps me alot to read the verse before and after; if possible, the whole chapter to keep what is read in context. Without God’s revelation one will end in error. Taking one part of the scripture and ignoring another one will end in error.

Your point is very correct when it applies to man and human nature, but it does not apply to God. The nature of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit is God.
