chigo4u:Absolutely! That's the beauty of treasury bills; and it's called interest backend! So you absolutely can buy a N1m portion with only N900,000 in your account. All you've done is that you've converted your interest from upfront to backend by compounding same and investing that. I've done this severally especially when I don't have immediate need for cash. Remain blessed! |
chigo4u:I think you're missing something and the young man that complained about sterling bank or another bank not paying interest upfront. You need to know how treasury bills works. T.bills are discountable instruments and they are so called because the investor gets its interest upfront. This means that the interest promised on a T-bill instrument is payable on the very day the investment commences. For instance, if a T-bill promises a 10.0% rate per annum and an investor wants to put in N1,000,000, the investor pays only N900,000 from the day of investment but gets back N1,000,000 at maturity. i.e. only N900,000 will be debited from your account on the 1st day of investment, while at maturity, you'll get back N1m. Hence, the N100,000 left in your account which represents the difference btw the investment value you requested from your banker and the amount actually debited from your account is the upfront interest that you've earned from the very 1st date of investment provided you hold till maturity. So, it's not that your banker will credit your account separately with the interest on the day of purchase. God bless you |
Damolux01:Which bank is this? |
Damolux01:Never, mine has always been same day value. Why should a discounted instrument that is very liquid take such a time? It's same day please. Worst case, the bank buys it back to increase its regulatory CRR. |
Ibrahim505:Why wouldn't there be upfront interest in Sterling Bank? That's one of the major feature of T.bills now - upfront interest and if you want backend! |
Why can't other banks host their t.bills on a portal for investors to decide like Access Bank's tbill.ng site? 'Cos, you don't even need to visit any branch of Access Bank b4 you can invest in treasury bills which I found more convenient |

PastorDavidAwuj:You certainly don't have the Holy Spirit! Who originates sin? - Satan right? Ok. Who deceives men and women to sin and disobey God's law? Satan still ba? Ok. When man sin and died therein, who gets the punishment of hellfire? Man right? But how come, isn't Satan that deceived him? Yes of course, but we're solely responsible for our actions and inactions! Neither God nor Satan forces anyone to serve Him/him as the case may be! A person that commit suicide doesn't just think about it and take instantaneous action to end his life. If a gradual process or what the Scripture calls presumptuous! Suicide is a daring boldness arising from lost of faith and hope in God and the Saviour Jesus Christ! Perfectbeing:Who are you trying to deceive? |
Perfectbeing:You and your pastor's ploy to encourage men and women to continue in sin will surely fail by the grace of God. Use your head now!!! Was Judas not a disciple ? Ye, even an apostle of Christ at a time! He was one of the seventy sent out by the Lord Himself. He did miracles in Christ's name and also shared his soul winning experience with the Lord. His name was in the book of life then. However, how did he end up? Even the Lord said it were better he's not born that betray him and all they will follow the way of backsliding. If Judas could perish who ate and drank with the Lord and he was even a disciple who left all and follow the Lord, having no other job than to follow the Lord with the rest of the disciples in preaching the gospel .... Who are you, me or any other person who don't even know physical Jesus , nor have sacrificed next to nothing in comparism with Judas? The Bible is clear - a soul that sinneth shall die!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Even the Lord said "He that putteth his hand in the plough and then look back is not fit for the kingdom of God! Don't be deceived, no matter who said anything to the contrary of the biblical injuction shall not stand. Rather than quoting what men said, why not follow and quote the Bible so that you will not be ashamed at last. Remember, the Bible says " that which is highly esteemed among men (no matter the title or how highly respected) is abomination in the sight of God!!! |
hisexcellency34:Beloved, I was once in this situation when I knew I needed an intimate relationship with the Almighty. I needed more than the shallow prayer life of Christians around me. My soul thirstieth for God. I wanted a deeper christian experience. Thanks be to His holy name because he answered me! Now to your question, what you need is simply the baptism of the Holy ghost! However, before the Holy ghost baptism, you must have genuinely been born again i.e. saved from sin. That's step 1. Step 2 requires that you be sanctified i.e. have God remove the Adamic nature of the love for and hunger to sin from your life. You become purified! Then, you are ready for step 3 which is Holy ghost baptism. All of these can be achieved through faith in the atoning blood of Jesus Christ. He paid the price for all on the cross. Please don't let anybody discourage you for this yearning, the Spirit of God wanted you to have a deeper fellowship with the Trinity. Congratulations as you'll surely find the Lord if you seek Him truly and sincerely with the whole of your heart!!! |
drtee247:Horrible! Regretful!! Lugubrious and acute lachrymose!!! It's grossly pathetic! What didn't I change in the car? Tire, seatbelt, boot stand, fan, and last of all gear box...all of these within 3 months! Mention it now...refilled A/C gas severally b4 they said it's compressor which I changed and spent over N70,000 on A/C alone but never worked for 96hours continuously!! I spent over N200,000 on gear box not to mention other expenses ... The gear box only worked for about 3weeks b4 delivering another problem. Infact, the car seemed to have bèen a satanic pulse draining agent. I'm busy now.... |

OLAADEGBU:What an incomplete post expected of a typical unbeliever! You shouldn't just cull meaningless portion from a complete work that someone has graciously done!!! Be warned! Dear all please find below the complete post: An Investigation: Is Jesus Liar, Lunatic, or Lord? Posted March 21, 2018 by Sheri Bell and filed under the categories Apologetics, Stuff for Teens, Talk for Today. Jesus liar lunatic or LordWho is Jesus of Nazareth? While many have asked and offered to answer the question, “Who is Jesus of Nazareth?”, no one can escape the evidence that He was a historical person and that His life radically altered human history. As world-renowned historian Jaroslav Pelikan put it: “It is from His birth that most of the human race dates its calendars, it is by His name that millions curse, and in His name that millions pray.” Due to His influence, Jesus of Nazareth has been transforming lives for almost two millennia. In the process, He has rewritten the direction and outcome of human history. It’s a fact that the teachings of Jesus have been a force of overwhelming good throughout the history of the world. Unfortunately, it also is true that much harm has been committed in Jesus’ name — both by the church at large, and by individuals seeking to use Him to further their own agendas. Who did Jesus claim to be? What did He attempt to gain through His ministry and sacrificial death? Clearly, Jesus thought it fundamentally important what others believed about Him. He wasn’t interested in neutrality, for instance; He frequently taught that His followers must be all in — or eventually be left out. When Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life,” He wasn’t making meaningless, abstract statements. His divinity was central to His messages; Jesus regarded the two as inseparable. Jesus lunatic, liar, or LordPer the great Christian apologist C. S. Lewis, “A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic — on a level with the man who says he is a poached egg — or else He would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God: or else a madman or something worse. You can shut Him up for a fool, you can spit at Him and kill Him as a demon; or you can fall at His feet and call Him Lord and God. But let us not come with any patronising nonsense about His being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to.” C.S. Lewis popularized this “Trilemma” argument, though it has earlier roots in the writings of Scottish Christian preacher “Rabbi” John Duncan, and Watchman Nee in his 1936 book, Normal Christian Faith. The 3-legged stool of this argument quickly gets to the heart of the matter: will we accept Jesus — or not? Was Jesus a liar, lunatic — or Lord? Let’s look at each option. ~ Was Jesus a Liar? ~ If Jesus knew He was not God, then He was lying. But if he was a liar, then He also was a hypocrite, as He told others to be honest, whatever the cost. If that’s the case, then we can say that would make Jesus unspeakably evil, as He deliberately told others to forsake their religious beliefs and trust Him for their eternal destiny. Jewish religious leaders actually did charge Jesus with having a demon (John 8:48), which Scripture decidedly refutes. And if Jesus knew He was lying, then He was a fool, as His claims led to His crucifixion. But would a liar teach his followers, as Jesus did throughout the Gospels, to adhere to a profoundly moral code? Could such a massive deceiver teach unselfish, ethical truths and live the morally exemplary life that Jesus did? The very notion is ridiculous. John Stuart Mill, a philosopher, skeptic, and antagonist of Christianity, still admitted that Jesus was a first-rate ethicist supremely worthy of our attention and emulation: “But about the life and sayings of Jesus there is a stamp of personal originality combined with profundity of insight….in the very first rank of men of sublime genius of whom our species can boast. When this pre-eminent genius is combined with the qualities of probably the greatest moral reformer, and martyr to that mission, who ever existed upon earth, religion cannot be said to have made a bad choice in pitching on this man as the ideal representative and guide of humanity; nor, even now, would it be easy, even for an unbeliever, to find a better translation of the rule of virtue from the abstract into the concrete, than to endeavor so to live that Christ would approve our life.” To put that succinctly, Mills is saying that Jesus was a perfect example of all that He taught. Let’s also consider this equally long statement by William Lecky, a noted Irish historian and dedicated opponent of organized Christianity, because it’s just so darn good: “It was reserved for Christianity to present to the world an ideal character, which through all the changes of eighteen centuries has inspired the hearts of men with an impassioned love; has shown itself capable of acting on all ages, nations, temperaments, and conditions; has been not only the highest pattern of virtue but the strongest incentive to its practice; and has exercised so deep an influence that it may be truly said that the simple record of [Jesus’] three short years of active life has done more to regenerate and to soften mankind than all the disquisitions of philosophers, and all other exhortations of moralists.” As church historian Philip Schaff adds, Jesus was a “character so original, so complete, so uniformly consistent, so perfect, so human and yet so high above all human greatness” who could be neither fraud nor fiction. Schaff adds that Jesus “never lost the even balance of His mind,” but “sailed serenely over all the troubles and persecutions, as the sun above the clouds, who always returned the wisest answer to tempting questions, who calmly and deliberately predicted His death on the cross.” I personally haven’t met any other human who lived up to Jesus’ behavior…have you? In his book Cold-Case Christianity, cold-case homicide detective J. Warner Wallace lists these three decisive motives at the heart of any misbehavior: financial greed, sexual or relational desire, or power. Jesus wasn’t interested in any of them. The New Testament writers tell us that He taught His disciples to give to the needy, and to not store up earthly treasures. And no evidence exists that Jesus was motivated by lust or relationships. The Gospels stress the respect that Jesus displayed toward women, including those who followed and supported His ministry. And rather than gain power for Himself, Jesus modeled serving others and giving without expectation of return, even to the wicked and ungrateful. He taught His disciples to do the same. If Jesus had been interested in personal power, He would have stepped into the political role people expected of Him. Instead, He shunned it. ~ Was Jesus a Lunatic? ~ So if Jesus wasn’t a liar, is it feasible that He mistakenly thought He was God? After all, one might be both sincere — but also sincerely wrong. Christian philosopher Peter Kreeft deftly shows why we must reject the option of Jesus being a lunatic: “A measure of your insanity is the size of the gap between what you think you are and what you really are. If I think I am the greatest philosopher in America, I am only an arrogant fool; if I think I am Napoleon, I am probably over the edge; if I think I am a butterfly, I am fully embarked from the sunny shores of sanity. But if I think I am God, I am even more insane because the gap between anything finite and the infinite God is even greater than the gap between any two finite things, even a man and a butterfly. Well, then, why not liar or lunatic? But almost no one who has read the Gospels can honestly and seriously consider that option. The savviness, the canniness, the human wisdom, the attractiveness of Jesus emerge from the Gospels with an unavoidable force to any but the most hardened and prejudiced reader.” He adds: “Jesus has in abundance precisely those three qualities which liars and lunatics most conspicuously lack: (1) His practical wisdom, His ability to read human hearts …. (2) His deep and winning love, His passionate compassion, His ability to attract people and make them feel at home and forgiven, His authority; and above all (3) His ability to astonish, His unpredictability, His creativity. Liars and lunatics are all so dull and predictable! No one who knows the Gospels and human beings can seriously entertain the possibility that Jesus was a liar or a lunatic, a bad man.” The idea that Jesus was self-deceived or delusional is simply not compatible with the impression He has left on history. So viewing Jesus as a lunatic is our second ridiculous option. ~ Is Jesus Lord? ~ In the first century, when people were given a number of answers about Jesus’ identity, Jesus asked His disciples, “Who do you say that I am?” Peter responded, “You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God (Matthew 16:15-16). Like Peter, we can decide to believe that Jesus made truthful claims about being God — and then accept or reject Him as our personal Savior. Yes, Jesus was put to death by the Romans. But was that the end of the movement that He launched three years earlier? We have to shout a resounding “No!”, if the millions who call Him “Lord” are to be counted. Jesus stands head-and-shoulders above all other self-proclaimed “saviors,” because He is clearly at work among His people. His presence is palpable, when His people draw near. He is still answering our prayers (even when the answer is no!), and guiding us. God’s Word tells us that we each must choose for ourselves whether or not to believe that Jesus is Lord. Can the Bible prove that Jesus is God? No. But we can take heart that archeological discoveries continue to prove its legitimacy as a truthful document. The Bible does clearly show us that Jesus, as a proven historical figure, was amazing in the way He demonstrated love. He gave all credit to God the Father, with whom He said He was equal. As the apostle Paul wrote in the New Testament, “these are written that you might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name” (John 20:31). So we are left with two ridiculous options — and one that must be given weight as entirely possible. Historians disagree with this, of course, saying that faith can’t be used as a measure of proving truth. Really? Sometimes I feel very sad for people who refuse to consider options, simply because they can’t see or feel them for themselves. Faith, it seems to me, identifies the real risk takers among us. And definitely the wisest. We cannot put Jesus on the shelf as a great moral teacher; evidence strongly favors Jesus being so much more. Still undecided on whether Jesus is liar, lunatic, or Lord? daewoorazer:8. A life without Christ Jesus is worthless, meaningless and vain Be saved today by confessing your sins and acknowledging Jesus as your Lord and personal Saviour as great dreams and hard works may bring riches but also add sorrows, but Christ blesses and added no sorrow. I'm honestly a living testimony!!!!! Repent and have eternal life as the above list CANNOT be complete without this fact! |

bahaushe1:This is utter confusion at it peak! Why are you so close minded and never wanted to know the truth? Jesus is the only way, the truth and the life, without which no man including mohammed can get access to God. Do you attempt to compare Jesus and mohamed? No! The different is clear! Why looking for the living Jesus among the dead? Ok see a few comparism... Mohammed claimed he saw angels from whom he received revelations; Jesus said He's the ONLY begotten Son of God who holds both the keys of eternal life and eternal damnation! He said further that He doesn't receive the record of men and angels, but God testifies about Him. Mohammed killed with sword to achieve his selfish aim and also to force his religion down the throat of people; but Jesus is the personification of God's love to humanity. Even a woman caught in adultery that was worthy of death, He simply said "neither do I condemned thee, go and sin no more" Mohammed never cured a sickness not even headache, Jesus restored sight to men born blind, gave legs to the lame, healed paralysis, cured leprosy and all manner of incurable illness including raising the dead, to the extent that the people glorified God and the infidels echoed "we never saw it on this fasion, what a wonderful works of God"! Even your quran acknowledged this! Beloved, great is the God of the Christians!!!!!!! Mohammed never attempted to walk on the sea, else he would have sank deep to the bottom and go to his grave earlier than he went. Jesus calmed the raging sea with a word! Walked upon an ocean and even made Peter also to work upon the sea! Chai - what a great God we serve!! Mohammed died and decayed like a normal fellow, eaten of worms and stank in his grave! Jesus died and rose again the 3rd day!! Infact, the grave lost its grip of him and couldn't hold him any further, because He is the maker of all things to the pleasure of God His father!!! Mohammed did not lie when concerning his eternal destination when he was about to die, but like a pauper he confessed that "he doesn't know where he was going o, nor what lies accross the grave for him". He therefore requested that you and his followers be praying for him to receive mercy from God which you're still doing till now, as when ever any muslim mentioned his name or write his name, they accompany it with 'PBUH' meaning peace be upon him. O uncircumcised in the heart and slow of understanding to comprehend the Scriptures! Know you not that it is appointed unto a man once to die and immediately after that is judgement? Mohammed is judged already, thus no further prayer would save him from the wrath of God which he had incurred for about 1,650 years now! Now compared to Jesus who faced death with such courage, audacity, boldness & assurance; and declared at the point of death to His followers "let not your heart be troubled, you believe in God. Believe also in me, for in my Father's house (referring to heaven) are many mansions, if it were not so I would have told you as you know my manner of life and personality since I've been among you. Therefore, I go to prepare a place for you and be certified that I'LL DOUBTLESSLY RETURN AND TAKE YOU HOME SO THAT WHERE I AM, YOU WILL BE ALSO!!!! A word is enough for the wise! He that has ear, let him hear what the Spirit says!! Repent and believe in the name of Jesus and you will be saved!!! I've said my own. God bless you. |
chemystery:It is people like you who have chosen rebellion as a cloack rather than obedience, and has deliberately refused to use your freewill to do right as admonished by the Scripture from the beginning; that is frustrating the work of this perfect Being to the detriment of your soul. Better repent and desist from this line of reasoning to save your soul! Remember, the gentility of a lion is not a sheer show of cawardice! Thus the fact that the Almighty keeps tolerating us does not makes Him a weakling! There's eternal judgement of damnation in hell for the rebelious no matter how long they continue their provocation against God's righteous law! Shalom! |
, around which it is centered. Everything can only be taken by faith, feelings & emotions and "plausible nonsequiturs". In an age where the basis and validity of religion are constantly being challenged, "plausible nonsequiturs" and reinforcement of them has become golden for deluded faithfuls and apologists. Christianity fails logically and morally, you have a god who can see the future and is all powerful but couldn't forsee the havoc of lucifer at the garden, even if he did, why would he create lucifer? answer without insulting human intelligence and morality. Why did he plant or create the tree of the knowledge of good and evil? Even if he did, why did he choose, of all places to plant it in the garden? He could create a flaming sword to bar Adam and Eve from entering the garden after they sinned but he didn't create a flaming sword to bar them from eating from the tree
