Politics › Re: This LGA Is Larger Than 2 South East States Put Together In Area by Predictor3: 8:26am On Oct 11, 2025 |
Toruibestate: Last month, after my father's death on September 5, I travelled to Ibadan for the first time because I want to remove my mind from the loss and see something new after the burial.. I was in Ibadan and I spent weeks moving round the city with my family while lodging in different hotels ..
Ibadan is like the size of Yenagoa and Port Harcourt joined together with the entire forest between the two cities added. Though Port Hacourt is larger than any city in South East. We also went to see the great Oyo empire of my history books by visiting the headquarters, the town of Oyo.
Oyo State is equivalent to entire South East while Niger State is the size of entire South West with Lagos excluded...
Borgu LGA in Niger State is larger than two Igbo States put together. Imo and Anambra for example and these two States have 48 LGAs. So where Igbo have not gotten Presidency, they got it in LGAs and States where they gain far more than others.
@Ditari of Ijaw. So what? Lagos is bigger than Singapore times two. Singapore has a bigger GDP than Nigeria, Ghana and ivory coast combined. |
Sports › Re: My Opinion: I Wish Benin Qualifies Against Nigeria And SA by Predictor3: 10:11pm On Oct 10, 2025 |
TaminaliaCatapa: Honestly speaking, the Nigerian soccer team has been shitty in their worldcup qualifying campaign. If the eagles manage to qualify and play at the worldcup with this mediocre performance, they’d hardly win any worldcup game and they’ll crash out before any team at the worldcup. This is all thanks to the leadership of the NFF, bringing corruption and nepotism to the national team; because I do not understand why former DSS son (Bitchi) wears our jersey when we could have done grassroot campaign to select superb hungry talents.
Nigerians should throw their calculators away at this time and stop solving calculus to determine WC qualification every 4 years.
Hence, I throw my weight behind Benin, those boys have been phenomenal, Gernot Rohr has done a wonderful job with that team. Benin has qualified, from the look of things. Nigeria and South Africa do not deserve it. South Africa that drew against Zimbabwe at home today while Benin won away, or Nigeria that has toyed with its morning time |

The other one go Edo state wan chop where she no sow in the guise of Iyaloja instead of make she tell her popsi to fix insecurities she won't. We against Hamas are people who hate Islamic terrorists and terrorism but those of you in support are same people who back here at home showed religious sympathy to Boko Haram because they are Muslims. Continue liking terrorists simply because they practices same religion with you I'm not a Muslim to start with. But I'm enlightened enough to see clearly that it's not a religious war. You hate muslims so much you think Israel is helping you to kill them. |

grandstar: Though I am proud of my tribe Yoruba, we should understand that this was written over 100 years ago.
Heck, the ancestors of this article were living in caves when the Romans got to Britain around 50 B.C.E
Even the Gauls (ancestors of the French, and the Goths, ancestors of the Germans were quite primitive compared to the Romans and Greeks.
Now, the Gucci shoe is on the other foot. The British, German, and French economies based on per capita income alone are higher than that of Italy and Greece.
We are all equal before God, all EQUAL!

Politics › Re: Enugu State's IGR For 2024 Exceeds All North East States Combined by Predictor3: 2:28pm On Oct 07, 2025 |
ImpartialGuy: Actually, there's nothing special about IGR. It means that a state is taxing their people higher than others. I don't know why you are comparing Enugu to other regions. Are you celebrating Enugu State govenor for taxing his people more? People have to pay taxes. Taxes is what government uses in paying teachers, doctors and build infrastructure. The reason there's serious dearth of infrastructure in Nigeria is that we don't pay taxes. We see taxes as abnormal. Nigeria's tax revenue to GDP is about 10% |

adonainana: So in a city of up to 10 million people
You only mentioned 10 estates and I can confirm to you that’s all there is as far as estates are involved
And barely 2 ,000 - 5,000 people live in these estates so the next big question is where are the remaining 99 percent of people living in the so called mega city The two Bodija estates combined is like a small town on its own. He even left out places like Idi Isin and Bashorun. Maybe you should list out the decent parts of your own village. |

nairalanda1: LOL....NIgeria is broke because we are not an industrial economy...that produces stuff.
We deceive ourselves by thinking because we gat resources, we can sell them and import stuff
It's not a mistake 'religious nations' make alone...the atheist Soviet union went from a budding industrial power in the 60's to using oil revenue to import consumer goods...instead of using it to make its industry better...in the 70's. And when oil prices went down, they borrowed from the same West...their enemies.
And they banned religion...infact it was illegal to preach religion to kids in the USSR. Religion was regarded as something for the OAP...preaching religion to the working people and kids was verbotten. Yet their banning religion did not stop them from being a resource dependent economy
And all the soviet satellites...banned religion, yet ran economies dependent on soviet subsides. You can guess what happened when the money stopped flowing.
We should stop building cathedrals and mega churches. I agree...but once the money has finished on spending on poor...what next?
See, that's the problem with Nigeria...we think of economy and any spare money as something that must be shared, without any thought as to how we should make money for the future or how to sustain our money making capacity...so that the poor can benefit, religion or no.
Good afternoon. That guy you are talking to doesn't know much. He picks some bullshyt from the internet and runs with it |
