Spoondar:

He can explain that the child is his from his previous relationship and the real mom didnt want his son to appear at the consulate. You see honesty is better than lies. Again they will understand it because a child has two parents thats why a single mom is asked for a letter of consent from the dad. They should not worry at all.
Yeah you are right Spoondar so are you very sure this couple can go to their interview without this kid? because they don't have any other options

junkerhill: I'm sorry for the misunderstanding. Your friend (principal applicant) actually meant well, she is a very nice person and it pains me for thinking she doesn't want the boy to prosper. God will be with her on the date of their interview Just xpress urself better to avoid misunderstanding.
As for the boy's mother, if he actually love the boy, she should allow the boy to be with the father.
It's ok Junkerhill. yeah she is nice because she want the best for this kid but his mother isn't a good mother to him because she isn't thinking about his happiness to be with his father by leading a bright life there. She can also be US if the kid reach 18years & start working there....

Golden Rules for Visa:
Looking Good and Confident.
Looking disciplined and organized.
Create interest in CO towards you with
interesting & intelligent answers.
Sounding natural in accent and
communication.
Maintaining eye-to-eye contact with
CO throughout interview.
Staying positive throughout.
Showing clarity of thought and logical
flow in expressing views.
Speaking Loud with confidence.
Having good presence of mind.
Showing good knowledge about your
area of interest.
Having good and credible future plans.
Add a little bit of sense of humor.
Exude professionalism in whatever
you do &
Smile and put Consular Officer always at
ease.

wear formal dress to appear for
interview. Your dress should portray
you as a professional / as a well prepared person.
Carry only relevant documents. Do
not present any papers-certificates or
documents unless asked for.
After Interview is over remember to
show gratitudes towards CO by saying 'Thank you'. And if
you had any doubts clarify them with
CO. Check for all the documents
before leaving home.Greet the
interviewer first, even if CO is not
listening or not looking at you or busy
with his computer.
While answering the questions (or
even when not answering), remember
to look at the CO instead of looking
down. Keep continuous eye contact
with Consular officer throughout the
interview. Keep looking at the CO but
never at other things or other
happenings in the room or at other
counters. Look at CO when he/she is
speaking. Don’t look away at any point
of time while answering or listening.
Feel like, there’s nobody between you
and CO, and nothing exists in this
world of your visa between you
and CO. Don’t become conscious of
others looking at you either watching
or listening.Remember it’s your visa
and your future. This is very
important. Listen to questions
carefully to comprehend. If you are
not sure of what’s the CO is asking,
politely request for a repeat. But don’t
over do the same. Give short and “to-
the-point” answers, unless asked for
longer ones. Wherever there’s scope
for it, it’s always better to be prepared
with two sets of answers for
questions, One long and one short.
First give short answer and if CO asks
for details then give long answer or
explain in detail, so that you will be
still in comfort zone. You have to be
clear about your long-term and short-
term goals, both personal and
professional. And make sure that you
can explain well your courses you have studied at high school.

Confidence – the One and Only Key
for Visa. So look confident, answer
with confidence, listen to CO with
confidence and even it the need
arises, smile at CO with confidence.
Just exude confidence in whatever
you do at interview.Mouth all words
clearly and speak loud enough to
hear. Answer immediately without
wasting any time. Little fun with good
sense of humor is always welcome.
CO’s generally respond positively to
good sense of humor. Answers
should not be given in a raised voice,
even, when the question comes n that
manner. Remember CO will be having
tough time too, with huge volumes of
applicants and asking same kind of
questions and listening almost
identical answers day in and day out.
They too will be under great pressure
to issue a visa till the applicant’s
intentions and arranging of funds are
made clear to them. It’s not that you
should feel comfortable in interview,
but in my personal opinion you
should also make CO comfortable by
presenting all facts and figures
through a systematic and organized
way of answering, presenting
documentary evidence whenever
necessary or asked for. Never become
desperate, wearisome and tiresome
even it the interview is going in a long
way than expected by you – But,
still throughout interview(s) try to
maintain your composure, looking
positive, confident and smiling at
every turn and opportunity and repeat
the same answer content suitably,
again and again. Avoid giving
additional information unless asked
for it. If you care complimented for
your answers, achievements, scores
and percentages,remember to thank
the CO.
Avoid repeating phrases or words
(using same punch words again and
again). Remember you have to Keep smiling face after giving
your answer, and
It is un-wise to contradict an answer
through a subsequent answer. Always
stick to the same answer whenever
asked for. Same question can be
asked at various times to test you. But your
answers should be consistent and
according to the figure quoted by you.
Don’t show your surprise on your
face, why he’s repeating the
questions.
Simply give answer to that question,
just as a matter of fact. The question
asked should be answered without
any second thoughts, and notions. An
applicant’s behavior should convince
the CO about the quality of
personality that you.have.
That’s why people say Attitude is
everything. Just stay positive, be
positive and answer with confidence.
Avoid any exhibition of emotions
other than showing a feeling of
welcoming questions and eager and
ready to give the answers with a
smiling face. In interview you must
avoid – speaking just for the sake of
speaking without any positive attitude
and confidence, repeating points,
words, exaggerating the facts, etc

On final note, thank the interviewer
for his time.
Some More Tips:
If you feel it’s difficult to understand
the CO’s accent, Try to watch CNN and
Hollywood movies regularly for some
time before visa interview to get
familiar with American accent. (But
don’t go for BBC, which will give
British accent). Anyway, I am wishing you all the best. Good Lucks to those who gonna have their interviews on this month & next month (including myself);-) lol

junkerhill: I don't know the reason why she don't want to the child to go with them to interview or why she don't want him to join them later. What ever her reason is, if the child is listed as a beneficiary, he should go with them on the day of their interview.
My dear preprewow, pls try and see if u can persuade her to accommodate that boy. She can't say she don't have money for the boy's flight to US because she has stated she don't want the boy to join them later. she should forgive the boy even if he has offended her. If the boy's mother offended her she should learn to forgive. I wonder what her reasons myt be for not wanting the boy to migrate wit them to US. That boy myt be the reason why she was selected at the first place. She doesn't know tomorrow. That boy myt be the one to help her tomorrow. Maybe she doesn't want the boy to help his mother. I can't just fathom what her reasons myt be, but what so ever her reasons myt be she should try and take the boy wit her. Just try and persuade her please.
Junkerhill, it is not as you thought. Actually, my friend(principal applicant) want the boy to join with her & her husband to US & she want his future to be a bright one on there but the boy's mother doesnt want her son to join with her ex boyfriend and his wife. That is how things are

junkerhill: my dear, they have told you what their requirement is which your are short of it. I doubt if you can convince them because their rule or standard is clear. It is either C+ or C- with 2 years diploma or D+ with university cert. And you are yet to acquire either the diploma or the university cert. Nevertheless, I won't advice you to quit but I will advice you to be more fervent in prayer. There is nothing God cannot do. Just ask for God's mercy on the day of your interview. If His mercy be with you on that day, the visa is yours. The members of this family will also be praying for you.
Junkerhill, I got D plain in KCSE & I've a certificate from a recognized university(MU) & now, I am still doing my diploma courses so can I stand a chance to get this diversity visa? Yeah, by my God's mercy I'll get the visa. I will never lose hope because in Him is where my trust is.I will success by His wonderful Mercy & I am gonna share my testimony on here by God willings.. Thank you so much bro, you really uplifted my moral. Once again thanks

Gentiger:

The DV rules are non-discriminatory. It's enforcement is strict unless otherwise specified. If you do not meet the academic requirements for eligibility, your next available options is work experience in which case you must demonstrate you are a skilled professional with at least 2 years of training in a recognized institution. If you cannot demonstrate eligibility based on these two criteria, I fear you may be sowing where you will not reap. Package yourself well for work experience if you got the skills and work experience as a professional. Goodluck.
Gentiger, i didn't appy with work experiece & I wish i could have applied with my 3 years work experiences in the sector of sales and marketing but instead i was applied with my education qualifications. I ve made a big mistake but Gentiger, can i go with my work experiences on my interview day while they only required my education qualifications?

By the way house, today I've came to know that Nairobi US embassy doesn't issue visas to applicants with less than C plain in K.C.S.E. I got less than due to my sickness(chronic ear infections)when i was doing my K.C.S.E exams but before that i used to get good grades(A-/B+).

Now, I'm partially deaf but thanks God I didnt lose that hope to continue with my studies. I'm in Univesity doing diploma in business so do you think that i can convince the Consular Officer with my present & earlier performances? Do you think that my hearing impairment would be a problem to get a Diversity Visa? & finally, do you think that me & my husband can go for the interview if i didn't meet with their high school minimum requirements?
