Religion / Does The Bible Condemn Polygamy? by preshdiva(f): 12:11pm On Oct 29, 2017 |
I haven't been able to wrap my head around this. The conventional stand in Christian churches today is that a a man must not marry more than one wife; except in the case of the death of a spouse or divorce. However, great men like Abraham, David and most notable of all, King Solomon were polygamous and were not condemned because of that. So at what point did the Christian religion become anti-polygamy I need responses with scriptural back up please... 1 Like

Religion / Re: Sexual Compatibility : How Can It Be Discussed In A Christian Relationship? by preshdiva(f): 12:00pm On Oct 29, 2017 |
Sexual compatibility is a very important issue, albeit dicey. In a relationship where the partners are committed to having sex only after marriage, they must discuss this, because there's no point of avoiding what you'll see everyday till death or divorce do you part. Roll out your sexual fantasies, honey, let him know you can be a bad bitch in bed; men are flesh and blood no matter how spiritual and disciplined they look. Don't be prim and proper in this area; discuss areas you'd like to explore; it'd make him long for you in a way he can't explain. Enough of all these hypocrisy biko. 5 Likes |

Jobs/Vacancies / Graduate Internship With Devon Petroleum Corporation by preshdiva(f): 8:53am On Oct 06, 2017 |
To say that I've applied for thousands of jobs is an understatement, or maybe an overstatement but the truth is, my sent folder on my gmail heavily outweighs my inbox. But that is not the point of this narrative. Just yesterday, after I had a promising interview with a non governmental organization in Abuja, I received a too-good-to-be-true mail from DEVON ENERGY CORPORATION. "Dear PRECIOUS ONYEKACHI OKOYE This is to remind you again that we are yet to receive all the required documents as requested by our company . Below is the link to the letter we previously sent to you CLICK HERE TO READ THE LETTER If you need any clarification contact us through the below contact number Contact Person: Jude Asini Phone: 08103065665 We await to hear from you. Thanks Devon Energy Corporation Plot 1300 Akin Adesola, Victoria Island, Lagos State Nigeria." Apparently, I had been shortlisted for a particular graduate internship with them, I hadn't submitted the required documents which included my degree certificate, Hse3, and Nebosch certificate. The deadline was on Friday, 6th October, 2017 and the monthly remuneration was a whooping 300k after being trained for 6 months. As I always do, I searched for the company on dear Nairaland but I didn't see any trace of fraud, this must be good, I thought. I googled the company and there they were, they had a working website. I was so ecstatic that I didn't observe that they had no Nigerian address. I called one 'Jude Asini' who sent the mail, he said I am among the ten graduates selected for traineeship in the company and I have to submit the documents before 6th October. I wondered what History and International Studies had to do with an oil company but I brushed the thought aside, miracles do happen na. I explained to him that I wasn't in Lagos, I didn't have the training certificates and asked what I could do. The guy was hesitant at first but offered to send me to their accredited training institutes where I would get a supposed cover up slip which I would use for online training. I contacted the numbers he sent and the man on the other end congratulated me profusely for such a golden opportunity. He proceeded to inform me that I should pay 8k to a certain account number, after which they'd send me a cover up slip which I would send to the company. The story had so many loopholes... I browsed my sent items folder, and didn't find any initial mail from them at all informing me that I was selected for a training program, I studied History and International Studies, and I didn't think a company would send you to an accredited institute to do HSE online, or how Hse1,2 and 3 would cost only 8000Ng, I became very skeptical and sent the contact to another friend who called the man and told him he was among the 10 people selected for the traineeship program and he would like to take the courses online. This Jude Asini promptly referred him to the same training institutes. That was when I realized that it was really too good to be true , I thought i had landed an oil company job ... Pls beware of these scammers, they devise new means to defraud people everyday. Let unemployment not lead you into desperation.

Religion / Re: Ex-christians Now Atheists, What Was The Craziest Thing You Did Out Of Faith? by preshdiva(f): 7:22am On Sep 13, 2017 |
No matter how hard you try to deny it or lie to yourselves, or how intelligent you see yourself to be... The truth you all know is GOD EXISTS. I might have questions for you atheists, coz in as much as I respect your choice of faith, I am sure you all are deceiving yourselves... 1. Who created man? You probably believe the Big Bang theory, if that holds to be true then who orchestrated the mighty explosion and how come it has never happened again? Why are matters and energies not forming in our very own eyes today to create a world like ours. 2. You do not believe in miracles, how come the blind suddenly regain their sights after prayers or numerous other scientifically impossible cases? Cancer patients proclaimed terminal by doctors suddenly get healed miraculously Who is the doer of these great things? 3. If man was not created by God and the universe created man, then who created the universe? 4. So, the sun stands in the sky without falling down, knows when to let the moon come in, and stars sprawl over the vast black sky, and the rivers and oceans know just where to stop, and nature is so orderly and nobody made it so? It just happened 5. If really, the big bang theory is the plausible creation story, why did it not continue? 6. Humans have so many languages, where did they ever learn them? Something cannot emanate from nothing, so from whence did these various languages come from? 7. How and why do people die? Their hearts stop beating right, and then they don't suddenly explode? What happened to matter can neither be created nor destroyed? No matter how hard you try to justify your claims, God is not dead. Its true there are many schisms in the church today and so many Christians don't live up to the name... That doesn't lay credence to the assumption that God doesn't exist. Some of you have deep sitted traumatic experiences e.g the death of a loved one...and you think God does not exist because things did not go as you planned. My conviction of God is not just based on my religious beliefs, I have a personal conviction that God lives, Jesus lives, the Holy spirit is true. Now, go back to History, History tells us of A.D and B.C... After the Death of Christ and Before the Birth of Christ... The life activities of Jesus, his death, resurrection are recorded in history books order than the Bible. So those people were hallucinating too? Jesus did not come? Or simply his father God does not exist You talk of many grey areas in the Bible. There is no book on earth that has no grey areas, most of the original documents of the Bible were lost or manhandled by the Catholic Church. Philosophy is dead - Stephen Hawkings. I'll pray for you, to know the light of truth before it is too late. |
Nairaland / General / Re: 10 Things Every Lady Must Attain Before Age 30 by preshdiva(f): 8:43pm On Sep 10, 2017 |
oluwasheun94:That's not the point. Peoples destinies are different. Someone who is destined to achieve success at a later age will feel discouraged by this list. There's no specific age for any achievement. You should take into cognisance the fact that some people go through so many traumatic life experiences that delay them from achieving their goals. 2 Likes |

Hmmmm! Society and obnoxious parameters. Who makes all these rules anyway Its wrong for people to set standards for others... If you don't get mastery in cooking, you're not successful? If you don't have a decent home at 30, you're not successful? Success is relative, and there's no one measuring metre for everyone. Some people are late bloomers and might not achieve their dreams or amount to anything till 40 or later... This life is a pawpaw biko, allow women to live at their own pace. 46 Likes 4 Shares |

Business / Re: Shoping Online Vs Traditional Shoping: Which Is Preferable by preshdiva(f): 10:52am On Jul 03, 2017 |
Ah. Traditional shopping any day anytime. You get to negotiate prices and make necessary economic decisions in the market, you can't do this online na + prices are inflated in online shops than traditional shops. Moreover, everything is just packaging; + how do i buy 'ogiri' or 'okpei' or even 'achi' 'ede' for my oha soup on jumia or kongaI'd take my physical cart and do my traditional shopping any day anytime. |
