This UI environmental group panelists no dey smile at all. I was equally drilled when I was interviewed for MSc. First day.

My experience was almost similar in UI! Despite being an Alma mater!! In fact I knew one of the Profs on the panel; he taught me in my undergrad days!! The only issue they had with my proposal was the battle of topic! “It could have been this and that” so said they! Alas! There was no point in arguing because it could have been meaningless and more embarrassing! I walked out with mixed feelings only to put my trust in God! However, amidst the topical wahala they still drilled a little on the whole proposal, asking what will be the outcome “for a research that hasn’t be done yet”! I just answered “that’s the essence of the research study” They checked my transcripts for first and second degrees as uploaded already and graded!! I submitted 3 copies of my proposal and they were cross checking with what they had on the application! #TrustinginGod

As it stands now. PTDF is doing 2 in 1 interview. One for Uk the other for France/Germany from the slot they shortlisted. I doubt unlike last year another opening would be out as you are solely choosing Uk or other countries.

Have just finished mine. As the brother before said, the questions asked are more credential related. I gave them my SOP but they didn't even look at it. The questions I was asked are: where do you work?, why do you want to do an msc abroad? Which skul did u apply?, what contribution will you give to Nigeria after finishing the program? Do u want a full or partial scholarship ?
None of the questions are academic related. However, a friend who did before me was asked academic related questions.
Just do ur best and master as much as u can. Know how to defend whatever doc u used during ur application.

Ok this year's patter is actually diff from last year.no one wanna see any of your credentials or awards aside what has been uploaded they dont even need ur SOP as they download it themselves. Questions vary but most from all you have uploaded so dont ask anyone what did they ask u. They ask you from the info you uploaded. Done Ibadan center and off to Lag. Goodluckto y'all

There is a diff between 86 and 87. Someone else from your state could have gone with more awards...publications...superb SOP defense and all that is required. So 1 mark really matters. Went last year both fr F-G-C and UK. The panelists were nodding heads like lizards in correspondence to what I was saying but in the end I was "outbeaten". Just do what you did before in a more composed manner.

I really need advise here, especially from those here who understand the interview/process. I applied last year, went for the interview and my interview went very well. I answered all the questions asked regarding my field of study and I answered them correctly and was allowed to talk about my SOP, they were impressed. I still didnot get the scholarship hence my confusion,(even with my awards and publications)
I am tempted to conclude that the candidates may have been selected in a man know man basis, but not yet as I know I cant approach this weeks interview with a defeatist mindset.
Is there anything else that needs to be shared asides the obvious?
Does anyone here have insider info as to the real selection process and what panelist look out for?
If they are to select 3/4 per state, what really makes 3/4 candidates stand out from the lot, because I believe alot of candidates just like me, have good results, awards/publications and all other credentials that have been requested for...so what really is the game changer - asides from knowing someone within the panel?

Read d mail again it says "The interviews have been scheduled to take place within the 2 weeks *from* April 29, 2019". Simply means interview is within 1st and 2nd week of May.

I think they'll start sending messages starting from 2moro since 2day is holiday. This week will be a week b4 the interview, and they've stated on the previous mail that each one of us will receive our interview date a week before the interview.

Those that submitted on sunday from 9am have option of uploading more than 2...I uploaded 4(pub+award) but previously it was strictly max of 2

Like Seriously, meaning that the marking scheme template they used for last year, which envisages a maximum of four (04) awards and at least a publication is no longer effective! I even charted one of the admin officers on live chart and he insisted that i can upload up to five (05) for each, and that i should do them separately. All efforts to bring to his attention that we are limited to just two (02) by the application portal fell on deaf ears. Find below our chat:

ADMIN:do them separately you can upload 5 awards and 5 publications

ME: that is, attach all the awards in one file and upload, and also do so in publications?

ADMIN: do it one by one so attach one then attach the next and so on,

ME: the system only allows for two spaces, one for award and the other for publications though i have already submitted my application and hope to go to the interview with my awards and pubs. for physical verification. Secondly, is age a barrier in this scheme/exercise in other words, what is the age limit?

ADMIN: you can add one, you add one, go to the top right corner and click add award/publication again you should not be bothered about your second question especially if you have been shortlisted for interview ok!

ME: Again, my first choice institution and course is UCL, UK/Global Management of Natural Resources, and the application deadline for this program is 07/06/19, can i go ahead and secure the admission, ahead of the selection process, not minding the fact that i already hold an admission with my second choice?

ADMIN:The schools we have up there, the PTDF has agreement with them so i guess you will be fine, please update quickly and submit

ME: Please am curious, what will be my faith now that i have already submitted my application, i listed my four awards in the awards space and attached all in one file and uploaded, i did same for my two publications, since the system was persistently prompting me that i can only submit two awards and publications, hope this will not affect my chances of been selected, in other words, will the four awards and two publications count, since i uploaded and submitted them this way?

I was lucky enough after saying it doesnt matter...they contacted me yesterday. Editted my profile and said I should upload it and change my countries as i cant choose from the 3 countries. Either i choose uk all through or germany and france. They gave me 1hr to do that and i did and resubmitted

Truly I dont understand ptdf this year. Seems diff pipo hv diff cases. For myself d 3countries i chose a uneditable and I couldn't upload SOP still submitted dah way...asked them they told me no problem its not compulsory dat i shld go to d venue wit d SOP but France...German...Uk as it was chosen in flexisaf was ported and remained stagnant on my database

I believe you know your pins for LSS and OSS differ. So check the Pin that opened for you. With that you know where you belong.

@Dmainman, please how will we know which one we were shortlisted for. I checked with both local and overseas applications pins, I was able to login and update centre with one but not with the other. Also is it possible for one to be shortlisted for both?

My own case isn't that different. I must say my GFC was swift and nicer. After my UI interview today in Environmental health...I have been having headache and fever till now. I don't know if the panelist chop witch. The man kept asking relate your research topic to oil and gas industry...after vomiting the usual thing...he kept insisting, last chance. In my mind I was like (why not search google...if its not related to oil and gas y did u guys make d course available from the school? And what is the difference btw this and HSE?) I was indifferent. I looked at madam for help to pity my sobered face...instead madam throw another question on top.
Publication rejected say my name must be the first. I didn't even bother to ask if they ticked any award for me not after 10mins+. I just wanted to leave there.
But in all we thank God. Lemme assume they were forming strict and recording something good because those fellas made me look stupid.

I just love it. Never knew i would make it like this in a short while. People i bet you don't wanna miss this.
