Hello Bookiemart01...I'll like to get some info from you, not sure how to send you a private message but I just sent you a random e-mail here. Kindly reply Bookiemart01: I wish I could agree with you. I have had about 4 of my post pulled down (even the one I categorically mentioned your moniker ).
I complained about Nisibor and his scam like activities but you "powers that be" decided to pull the posts down and even banned me for 1 week on the business and technology sections. What can I do? |

Yes...conversion rates for withdrawals with your usd denominated cards is at the cbn official rate of 197 - $1...I guess it's better to look for anyone who's willing to buy from you at a reasonable rate and you'd do an e-transfer into the recipient's Dom account while they pay you the agreed Naira equivalent. I'm interested if you're willing to negotiate tranxo: Does anyone here have a usd denomiñated MasterCard or Visa card attached to his or her domiciliary account?
If yes, have you recently tried withdrawing from an ATM?
If yes, at what rate was the Naira equivalent converted?
. . @Stanley08 all I see here are dollar buying rates and no selling rates through ATM/PoS. |

I know of GTBank only...you can only spend the money in your Dom account with the dollar MasterCard. I'm not sure how it works at other banks. favoredgal: Is it that we can't withdraw over the counter from our Dom accounts again? |

Noted...please how do I reach you? Ymodulus: Yes you can. Note I pay into local account of the recipient country. Example if you sending to China . give me the Chinese account details.
I will pay into the Chinese local account and send you a receipt. All our payments to any country is done before 8am daily.
After 8am payment is done next day.
I will allow the $500-700 of yours to skip. But I don't do below $1000.
Thanks |

You could have come here to ask if anyone was interested in buying your usd inflow and then transferred into the person's GTBank Dom account at a reasonable ngn rate. Please let me know when next you need to sell some more. ekenetheorg: And the worst is that I changed over $1k on GTbank today at the rate of N199. But they sell dollar to customers at N270. What a mess |

I don't think this is the best way to respond to anyone on a public forum...telling another adult to STFU is just low. He has every right to put out any info he has when he chooses to...besides, sorry to disappoint you, it's very obvious now that banks decide what they choose to charge on their cards regardless of what info is on nairaland or any other forum! damola1: Why can't you just STFU for once. You've been advised earlier by mavinc4u that, information placed in here consistently show a pattern where it becomes useless to even the people you are trying to support.
Yet you still crave the need to speak out.
This platform is bigger than you think a simple google search puts this thread on top. We are using cards here, which is digital, it only makes sense to be tracked digitally.. Any mention of any bank name on google alerts will trigger in seconds...
Just STFU please! |

Yes I agree with those who say it would have been worse if GEJ had been elected for another 4 years. The only reason exchange rate was stable for a long time during the "cluelessness regime " like you called it was because the price of Brent crude was at its peak, the highest it ever was in history. As a result, the inflow of forex into the country was unprecedented, and because we all forgot that all good things must come to an end, the looting spree continued unabated. All we are facing right now is because Brent crude is below the $40/barrel mark and we have no savings from all the years of the huge windfall, unfortunately when Iraq & Iran increases production next year, I'm not sure how economies like ours will cope with our absolute dependence on crude exports. Regardless of what's currently going on, I'm not sure if it's right for anyone to be openly supporting going back to the era of so much corruption and waste of resources that we have just come out of...but what do I know, this is Nigeria where we like to take a step forward and 10 steps backward. Infinitikoncept: Nigerians don't wanna see the truth from day one. We have voted out cluelessness yet we are worse than cluelessness regime. Somebody is now quoting if it was GEJ that was there it would have been worse yet the guy spent five years exchange rate wasn't this bad from banks. Leave GEJ in the past where he rightly belongs and face the man in the present. Or is 7 months a waste? Still waiting to see the body language |

Can anyone confirm that they got any notification from GTBank as regards changes to the daily limit on their Naira MasterCard? Did a $350 transaction on PayPal on Thursday morning 03/12 before 8am, and wanted to do another £260 transaction around 11am on the same day, but that was declined. Both transactions aren't close to $1000 yet. I'm hoping they haven't reduced the daily limit again. |

Thanks...Please I hope their daily limit of $2000 still stands as I'm looking to make a payment for a little over £1k which is way more than GTBank's daily limit of $1k. Need to be sure before I open an account with Stanbic Stanley08: Stanbic expect around 335 to 340. More likely, 336 to 337.
Oct 3 - 335.62 Oct 4 - 336 Oct 7 - 337.5 Nov 1 - 339.66 Nov 7 - 336.49 Nov 10 - 336.08 Nov 11 - 336.08

I opened my savings account first, and mine's still linked to my current account. Apparently, POS transactions are defaulted to the current account if you have one on the same card. 989900: Mine is linked to my current acc.
Probably because I opened the current account first, then much later the savings acc. |
Technology Market › Re: Exchange Rates Of International Currencies >>>Updates on First Page<<< by pretts(f): 12:28pm On Sep 01, 2015 |
Gtb Naira MasterCard isn't linked to savings account by default. If you have both a current and a savings account with GTBank linked to a single card, it is automatically linked to your current account. At least, that is what I was told a couple of years ago when I complained at the bank, about not being able to do a POS transaction from my savings account mavinc4u: guy, is not true. Gtb naira master card is always linked to savings account by default unless the customer requested otherwise. he probabaly requested that his card be linked to his current account or it happened by error. |

Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Already Frustrated With My New Job by pretts(f): 12:44pm On Feb 13, 2015 |
Wao...You just spoke my mind! My case is somewhat similar to yours OP, however, it is different in the sense that at least you are an engineer in an engineering firm with some interest in the core business of the firm. Mine is such that I have tried all I could to be interested in what my firm does for more than 3 years, but the more I try the more unhappy and frustrated I become...so I guess it is time to move on! I guess you just can't force what you aren't interested in. I'm not sure what I'd advise you to do but one thing I'd say is, be aggressive with your job hunt. Tell everyone you can, including some of those engineers who seem to be reasonable at your current job...you never know who God can use to move you forward. Smh. Nigerians have got to be the most conceited, sadistic human beings on Earth sha, walahi. One sees how they treat waiters/waitresses, maids, gatemen, subordinates, and anyone they consider 'inferior' or 'less privileged'. . . . it's just a big joke.
God knows I'd slap the audacious ìdiot and walk out on the useless job immediately. If hunger like, make e kill me. I've done something similar during my NYSC primary assignment days. I have 'foolish' pride, and it has helped me so far. I have zero tolerance for rubbish. Life is too short.
I can't advise you to leave the job, since I don't know whether you'll be able to cope without it. However, if to say na me, I for slap that mumu boy (and the company MD sef, if im own too much) and walk out on the damn job. Man go everly survive one way or the other. |
