TheDestroyer:In the North, GEJ was referred to as "yamreee" but he won in 2011. In politics, nothing is unthinkable. Even Buhari has given up before. El-Rufai ounce said "Buhari is democratically unelectable" but he is now one of Buhari's apostles |
specialmati:As if your vote counts. If Buhari and Northern leaders accept Umahi and provide a capable Vice President for him, he will win. Just a pronouncement by Sardauna of Sokoto and every Northern muslim and Yoruba muslim will vote for him. Forget about Biafra and PDP. I can assure you that Igbos will vote for him. |
yaki84:He was just dishing out figures and adding them up ignorantly. It is very hilarious! |
Simplyleo:Have you been to the North? You think they are politically naive like you? The North votes for their interest and I can assure you that Tinubu can never be president. Everybody in the North sees Goodluck as Igbo but yet they voted him because there was a gentleman agreement that he will rule for only one tenure and return power to them. You know nothing about the North. They are after their interest which is to remain in power as long as possible. |
yaki84:Why are teaching the idiot Maths for free? |
Simplyleo:You are not wise. Go back to your Maths teacher for refund of your fees |
WrittyWritter:Another man can't pay for the sin of your father. The best way to ensure that you don't suffer is to make your own money and not by waiting and hoping that a rich man will marry you. |
djon78:Patience? Because she is doing you a favour? So the criteria to getting a good wife is your ability to tolerate her nonsense? |
cococandy:Feminist spotted! If this one comes close to your girlfriend, the love story will end. |
baby124:This is not true. Getting a good girl in Nigeria is more difficult than becoming a president. He is not the problem, feminism movement is the problem. If you see the way mothers are indoctrinating their daughters on how to deal with men, you will shed tears. Nigerian girls do not want real men. They love simps who they can manipulate to their advantage. |
Angelfrost:Who is putting the entire blame on Buhari for issues that predate him? |
Jagznation:The bridge is older than Ugwuanyi. Why do you put the entire blame on him? |
leokid866:South west has nothing to lose if they fail to produce the president even in the next sixteen years. Obasanjo (President) - 8 years Osibanjo (Vice president) - 8 years And you want to become president again? Because other tribes are fools? |
DonFreshmoney:Obasanjo (President) - South West- 8 years Osibanjo (Vice president) - South West- 8 years And you want Osibanjo to indicate interest in what? Becoming president? He will receive a hot slap. |
Juliusmalema:45% muslims? Are you alright? For your information, all the muslims in Enugu state including hausa traders and beggars are not up to 10% of Enugu population. are you kidding me? When 18 Igbo men embraced muslim in 2013, it was National celebration for the muslim in Abuja. Read the news below: https://aboutislam.net/muslim-issues/africa/igbo-muslims-spread-islam-southeast-nigeria/ Are you sure that you are a Nigerian? |
Juliusmalema:If you have anything in that microchips in your skull that you mistook for brain, you would have known that Enugu State is the most christian dominated state in the East and the state also boast of most spiritually-gifted men of God in the east. The little fraction of Ndi Enugu who practise muslim religion are migrants from Niger State who settled somewhere near Ibagwa in Nsukka and intermarried. Recently, their mosque has been destroyed. Obviously, you cannot conduct an independent research and always swallow news on media line hook and sinker. Even in the seat of caliphate (Sokoto) we still have hausa christians and no state in Nigeria can boast of 100% muslims or christians. |
Juliusmalema:You are an idiot, no apologies. |
NNEWIsuper:Nobody in your clan has ever become a governor and you are insulting a town that boasts of first indigenous Federal University, Federal College of education, best cathedral in West Africa, Ogige Modern market, Research Institutes, banks, School of nursing, transport facilities, among others. Do you mind telling me which bush you come from? |
Samfloxin:And you choose the part of the bible to obey and throw away the part that does not suit you or your church doctrines. It is not everything that is written in the bible-John 21:25 The bible allowed Christians to practise anything that would bring glory to his name-Colossians 3:17 |
Abcruz:Who asked you if you were ounce a catholic? |
chrisxxx:STOP reasoning this way. Tribe and naturalization is remarkably different. You don't become an Hausa man because you married an Hausa woman but you can become a Nigerian by marrying a Nigerian. Mikel Obi has naturalized in England but he is not English by tribe. He is an Igbo man, period! |
Tonalphs:Can specifically name any worthy Igbo son/daughter whom at any time forced Wike to accept that he is Igbo? Can you show us the link. We have too many high achievers that it will be an insult to claim that Igbos are forcing Wike of all people to become one of them. What is so special about Ikwerre? Who knows them? What are they known for? |
obiekunie2:Ikwerres are the one begging to be Igbos when it favours them. Did you see Igbos claiming that Obaseki is Igbo? If the idiotic Wike was caught as a drug dealer somewhere in Indonesia, you will be the first person to link him to Igbos/South east. Duncan Mighty in his song called him "Ezeyesom wike" and today the idiot is struggling to mumble some strange words as the correct pronunciation of his name. Wike is nowhere near to well accomplished Igbos and nobody in the entire Rivers state has achieved anything close to worthy Igbo sons and daughters. Let us see what becomes of Wike after governorship. |
The best thing that can happen to a Nigerian graduate is to get a well-paying job after graduation and NYSC. This desire has become the bases for university education in Nigeria coupled with titles such as Dr., Eng., Pharm., and Arch. as well as the respect and social benefits. Consequently, many Nigerian students usually go for the “so-called” lucrative and “professional” courses in their choice of course of study while seeking admission into the university. In all this, Biochemistry has gradually become a “useless” course to many Nigerians because of the frustration of biochemistry graduates in the job market. While graduate unemployment is not peculiar to biochemistry graduates, biochemistry is arguably the most difficult course and for an intelligent Nigerian graduate who passed through the rigor of understanding the underlying principles of life processes at molecular level and its applications in Industry, Research, Agriculture, Medicine, Law and Crime to remain unemployed is beyond frustration. Fortunately, just like every other discipline in Nigeria, money and quick employment should not form part of the reasons to study biochemistry. With passion and dedication, every intelligent biochemist that I know made it eventually. Let us look at organizations in Nigeria that employ Biochemistry graduates and the entry-level salary i. Hospital: Recently Biochemistry graduates are employed as Scientific officers in hospital and the salary range is ₦105,000 - ₦120,000 ii. Research Institutes: With B.Sc Biochemistry, you start as Research Officer II and the entry level salary is ₦110-₦120,000 iii. Beverage Industries: Recently, you may need a Master’s degree to join as a Manager in the beverage industry. Biochemistry graduates are employed as brewers in their Supply Chain Division. The entry-level salary is ₦ 385,000-₦500,000 with other benefits. However, the selection process is very competitive and the training is very intensive. iv. Government Agencies: NAFDAC, SON, NDLEA, DPR, NNPC, NABDA, among others do employ Biochemistry graduates but most of the recruitments here are not merit-based. Starting salary is about ₦93,000 -₦250,000 v. Audit Firms & Banks: A university degree, 2:1 and 26 years is enough for you to join these industries provided you do well in aptitude test and interview. Starting salary is about ₦150,000-₦250,000 vi. Lecturing: With B.Sc Biochemistry, you can lecture in polytechnics and monotechnics as Assistance lecturer. You need a 2:1 for graduate assistant position in the universities and M.SC Biochemistry for Assistance lecturer position. You need to obtain a PhD and make publications in order to enjoy career as a lecturer. Salary is about ₦93,000 - ₦160,000 vii. Teaching: You easily get a teaching job in private secondary school but the pay is poor. If you add a PGDE to your degree, many reputable secondary schools including government owned schools will employ you to teach Chemistry or biology but the salary is not that attractive. Salary is about ₦15,000-₦70,000 viii. Entrepreneurship: A biochemistry graduate with money and vision can set up an ethanol plant, Biogas plant, Industrial starch production, Industrial enzyme production and other raw materials for industries. This requires a lot of money but if you can achieve it, you are on your way to join the leagues of Dangote. CHALLENGES i. Nigerian universities produce more graduates than the labour market can employ. These places cannot employ every graduates. Even medical doctors are facing unemployment. You have to be exceptional, patient, and hardworking to succeed. ii. Godfatherism has come to stay and those who have godfathers constantly take the few positions. This happens mostly in Government establishments. You have to reach out and make connections or concentrate your search to private organizations and multinationals. They pay better salary and career growth is faster. iii. Sometimes you have to compete with graduates of Microbiology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Food Science for positions. The versatility of Biochemistry will give you competitive edge but you also have to up your game. |
