Last time I checked, Innoson Motors are NOT begging for funding or investors.
If indeed you're not trying to discredit the Company,then why not take a visit to the factory and see things for yourself, then you can comment authoritatively. And the good news is you do not require a VISA to visit Nnewi. No matter what part of Nigeria you're travelling from, Nnewi is within 12 hours drive time and can be easily assessed by air from any of the 3 airports at Asaba, Owerri & Enugu.
It beats me that anytime anything good comes from Nigeria, we are quick to condem and degrade. If it were reported as made in Ghana, you will be singing their praises. No wonder we import handkerchiefs,toothpicks and umbrellas. Shame.

This place is just not too far from the sagamu interchange where we have nestle pls and of recent Honeywell meal and Procter and Gamble just acquire hectares of land to build a factory, so you can see what is in stock for development in that axis, even to your surprise an hectare is going between 500k - above , l mean an hectare.

You need to feed your eyes with the area, we have a top-notch secondary school(will not mention). No too much talk jare.

For clarity sir, is it an acre (6 plots) or hectare that goes for 500k in the area?

In Nigeria, we have 3 categories of roads; Federal (all the highways AKA express road fall in here), state roads and LG roads. The Ago Palace way - Amuwo Odofin road is a Lagos State project just like Simbiat Abiola (Medical Road) Ikeja. The inner street roads are local government responsibility. So in that light, we will be right to say it's Fashola's job to fix the Ago Palace Way - Amuwo Odofin but hey, Fashola has a Commissioner for Works, right

My business has banking relationship with 7 solid banks in Nigeria. And if you must know, yes I was a Banker at a point in my career. Like I said earlier on interest rate computation is a basic arithmetic taught even in primary schools! Let's not pretend as if it is rocket science.

Take it anywhere, to borrow N5 million for 36months at 25% interest per annum plus the Management,Processing & Commitment fees(which can be anything from 4% - 6% flat/one-off) and COT when you draw down on the N5 million will attract about N4 million as interest & charges.This sum will increase if you exceed 36 months or default in any of the months.
Now mind you, this is if you're able to secure the facility at 25%. Interest rates could be as high as 29% - 30% depending on the Bank & your profile and history. And of course, you have to provide collateral.It is even worse if you go to a Finance House.

Am I interested in your business? No. I got attracted by some of the misinformation on rates and felt that since Nairaland Forum gives us opportunity to share information and knowledge, I should point it out. I have absolutely no interest in funding you. However, I like your courage in planning to set up the business and once again I wish you the best.

Impossible? Really.

It's simple arithmetic. As long as the interest rate is 25% that's what it is bro.

If you borrow 5m from a bank at 25% per annum for 36 months, the interest will be N3,750,000.
You will pay 2% processing fee and 2% legal (one-off) charges = N200,000. The total becomes N3,950,000.
You will of course provide collateral.
Then you pay N5,000 for every 1,000,000 as the COT to the Bank. So when the Bank gives you the N5million, you will pay N25,000 as COT. With this, the total cost of borrowing N5 million for 36months (3 years) = N4 million.

Concerning your idea, if it is profitable enough to pay out 4million and still be profitable then go ahead and borrow, but if not, it might be better to share ownership of the company and share profit with your Investor.
