Hello Everyone. Does anyone have the customer care number for OIS?

Its been 2 week since my visa was issused, i dont have any email and i when i check the OIS document deliery it says it is not yet ready.

I checked https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx and it says "ISSUED". Case Last Updated: 30-Sep-2024

I initially choose Port Harcourt for delivery but I went there and they are not yet ready for pickup. i have updated my AVITS document delivery to Lagos since i am planning a trip next week.

i have also created an AVITS ticket. I am thinking about sending an email to the Abuja Embassy where i had my interview.

Is anyone else in the same boat? Any tips?

Your passport is either in OIS Lagos or Abuja, depending on where you dropped off. Port harcourt is not available on OIS site yet. Try and get someone to go check for you.

Avits delivery location is not used. I selected PH on avits also, but my passport was sent to OIS Abuja.

If you have OIS number, you can call them too.

so went to a dhl location for drop off, but was directed to go to an OIS location by the dhl staff...it appears OIS nad dhl are yet to work out kinks btw themselves for a seamless handshake.....wudnt cost OIS anything to pay dhl a small fee to handle the ops for them...as they have been handling it b4....

really sucks to hv to board a flight for IW Dropoff and i guess pick up as well, a total of 4flights in all!!!....sounds so 1990s

You can dhl your documents to a close friend/family in the city and have them drop off and pick up for you. That's what I had to do at the end. The screenshot shows the steps for someone picking up for you.

OIS date should not be more relevant than that of the USA embassy, except , if the USA embassy has entered into an agreement with OIS, thereby accepting OIS dates to override.

PS: Call both organisations to verify.

PS: The sending of IW qualification email applies to especially , new applicants, and since the embassy says, those with previous appointments still have their appointments recognised, then you may go ahead without waiting for the qualification email.

PS: All IW VISA applicants should also note that, the USA embassy can summon them for physical interviews, despite having qualified for IW, IF NEED BE.

Thanks, OyoTunjiUSA, for all the support. One final question please: How long does it usually take for a passport to appear on the OIS website for pick-up? My status on Ceac.state.gov changed to 'issued' some days back.

I have not received a single email from Avits, Ceac, or OIS since I started this visa renewal process two weeks ago. There is also nothing in my spam folder.

Hi, I tried to get dates on the AVITS site, saw dates for 2025, but its not even letting me pick a date. it keeps giving error messages. I know you mentioned getting a date on both sites but Avits is just not letting me pick a date. It just gives error messages.

Also, If it gives a date for 2025 and I have a 2024 date at OIS which date superceeds?

If you have an IW letter, then try submitting using the OIS date only. The OIS staff I spoke to said Avits date is no longer in use.

Someone will need to test this out and confirm. What I can confirm now is that Avits date alone cannot be used to submit.

Yes, I was. I used the option to transfer from other bank to Firstbank. The site then generated a generic account for me to transfer to. I started the process on Tuesday this week.

The site is www.oisservices.com/services.

After creating a profile, select US Visa Documents Delivery. Then put your passport number and click verify. It will then say your passport is not ready for pick-up, click proceed and then select your preferred centre and select "drop-off". Proceed to select the date and time you want and print the acknowledgment slip.

Remember to save the acknowledgment slip. You won't be able to view it after closing the page and you likely will not receive an email too.

I've been checking. The calendar no longer shows. It just states 'Location Unavailable" under appointments.

If you live in Lagos or Abuja, then still try and submit using the OIS date. It's possible they have stopped AVITS appointments for drop-off as it may no longer be relevant (as mentioned by OIS)

If you stay outside Lagos/Abuja, then wait for someone to confirm using OIS date only.

The OIS staff I spoke with actually said they have taken over the appointment booking process from US Embassy.

The OIS staff in Abuja told me they stopped recognizing AVITS date last week Friday. OIS date is what they follow now. I think you should still get a date on AVITS, even if it is next year, and go to OIS next week to submit.

I tried to submit today based on the date from the US Embassy but was turned back. Apparently, the only date of importance now is the OIS date.

The previous drop-off date is no longer valid, even if it is next year. Just book on OIS and submit.

The only reason for the AVITS appointment is to get the IW letter. It also now makes sense why my IW letter did not contain any date/time on it.

You can also send someone with the required documents to submit for you. It's just unfortunate that I wasted so much on flights and hotel.

The IW appointment acknowledgement slip that my mum got didn’t look like this. It’s just a page with basic applicant information and the appointment date and time.

1. Yes. According to the USA embassy , the 1st step for IW applicant is to go and sign up on the AVITS website , choose payment option, pay and book appointment. But during the course of signing up, you will answer IW qualification questions, submit and sign out.

2. At the end of the process, qualified applicants will receive an Interview Waiver Confirmation letter (it can be immediately , after 1 day, etc no time is specified) with detailed information on how to submit the application documents. So all IW applicants must wait to receive this confirmation letter before proceeding.

3. After receiving this letter, that means you are qualified for IW, and you will move to the 2nd phase by following the instructions below :

In order to be able to submit/collect your application documents, you need to proceed with registering on www.oisservices.com/services website.

On that page, scroll down to locate "US VISA APPLICATION DOCUMENTS PICK UP/DROP OFF" section, and click on "Click Here" button. Proceed with registering on the page, select ''Visa Application'' and your documents pick-up/drop off option.

Thanks for the detailed response. Does the date on the USA embassy appointment matter? It's not allowing me reschedule and the previous date I booked isn't available on OIS.

The IW letter can be downloaded from the AVITS site.... not sure if they will still send an email

Please I just want to clarify a few things. I am at the point of trying to choose an appointment date for IW. My understanding is that on the appointment date, I would need to go and drop off the passport at the consulate/embassy. And then when the visa is ready, the passport is forwarded to OIS for collection. One would then register with OIS and book an appointment to pick up the passport.

HOWEVER, from your explanation below it would seem that both drop-off and pick-up are actually done at OIS. Or am I missing something? Please help me understand the process. Thank you.

I also need this clarification. Are we to book appointments on both the US Embassy site and the OIS site? These are two different locations

I'm trying to see if I can book the two on the same day so I don't have to travel to Abuja twice

As long as you have the IW appointment letter that shows the OIS office as drop off center, I believe you should be fine.

It doesn't state any Location. It just says Abuja. But the security regulations in the letter is for US Embassy

Hello All. I was able to book an appointment for this Thursday on https://www.usvisaappt.com, but I'm yet to receive any confirmation email. Is this a problem? I was able to download the Interview Waiver Letter and all it says is to come with-
1. A passport valid for travel to the United States with a validity date at least six months beyond your intended period of stay in the
United States
2. Your DS-160 confirmation page
3. A passport photo taken within the last 6 months
4. The visa application fee receipt from First Bank of Nigeria
5. The printed Interview Waiver confirmation page

Am I supposed to do anything on OIS? I keep seeing something about OIS confirmation form here.

No, I didn't send any mail. I noticed that my Background check was completed same day I did Biometrics.... I guess that step was waived because of my US visa (or maybe UK).

Abuja is faster. If you didn't do biometrics in Abuja and you want to send to Abuja(please pay the transmission fee(9410) and sms fee 990).

But if you are not in a hurry. Just submit to Lagos if thats where you did biometrics.

The process involved in passport stamping:

Abuja Address;Visa Application Centre, sterling bank plaza, 3rd floor, plot No 1083, Mohammadu Buhari Way, Central Business District, Abuja Nigeria

Lagos Address; Visa Application Centre Ground Floor, The Manor Plot 110, Admiral ayinla way, lekki phase 1 lagos Nigeria

Requirement; if you did your biometrics in abuja, Theres no fee except for delivery fees.

Then print the receipt from your phone(coloured).

if you did your biometrics in lagos. Go to DHL closer to you and pay for 2-way courier and also pay for insurance to be sent to canada VAC Abuja, buy a fresh brown envelope and add the following NB; remember to give DHL a return address since its a 2 way courier

1.)put two photocopies of your passport data page(coloured)
2.)your yellow or white biometric strip(if you have misplaced these paper go to VFS so theyll sort you out). If you dont have the slip you can still send it regardless or you can add the BVL(biometric validation letter)
3.)Passport request letter
4.)1 copy of the consent form downloaded and signed( note u are filling and signing just the second page of your consent form)

4.)one plain sheet of paper where you can write your Name, address, Email, phone number and signature
5.)one coloured copy of the receipt of the transmission fee payment

Bank statements (USD and Naira), Investment evidence (Fixed deposit and Mutual Funds), Land documents, e-ticket/boarding passes for my last 5 trips (Europe, America, and East Africa), Pay slips, Employment letter, Tax cert, Letter of Invitation, and Statement of purpose (I stated here that I'll be in Florida in February and will use that opportunity to visit a friend in Canada for some days).

For walk in, time for submission of passport is from 8am -10am.

Thanks a lot. The passport request letter I received doesn't state how to send via Courier. I've checked vfs website and can't see anything about courier there too. I'm trying to avoid flying to Lagos just to drop passport.
