I made the Edubond payment through FORM A last year June at ECOBANK, Iwo Road, Ibadan. I also know about 3 other guys that did the same through different banks, some banks may agree to make the payment while some will refuse. Try and contact your bank(s) and see what the response would be. If you stay in Ibadan and you have an account with Ecobank, I'll connect you with someone at Ecobank. Cheers.

Please I would like to know if anyone has successfully paid for Edubond using a Nigerian bank savings account.

Please can you guide a brother on best route to remit from Nigeria.

Thank you. [/quote]

This is really helpful, I was trying to get network 3 SIM card today at their store opposite Stephen mall, the data plan is 10gb per month and unlimited calls and text messages. I was given a 50% discount, I was asked to pay 10 euros. Unfortunately they didn't accept cash payment and my dollar card isn't working. What can you say about 3 mobile network and where do they accept cash payment for buying of SIM card.
Chiggsglover:
Mobile service providers

Most of you will be coming here soon and Welcome to Ireland to those that's already here.
Let me say what I know about choosing a service provider.
If you can't read my long writeups, Go for lycamobile.
I don't work for them at all.

You can pick up the Sim for free at some of the shops owned by foreigner, like the Asian and African food shops, phone and repair shops, and groceries...
I visited a phone shop as I was rushing to get the bus and the guy told me I have to pay €5, I japa. It's something I picked for free before the lockdown.

Another way is to go to the official lycamobile website and order it, it might arrive after 5. You can also order it for free. I paid €10 for it once, it never came till I packed out of the house, then I applied for a free one and it came after 7days.

When I first came here as a JJC, me and my guy walked into Vodafone store and paid €20, for 20gig and unlimited Sim and SMS. After the first month, I after I got my room, I noticed that I only used 1gig of data, called very few number and I had to japa from that plan.
I went to lycamobile. There's wifi in school, bus, at home and anywhere you can think of.

Then I moved to a house with a shady landlord, an Irish landlord wouldn't be that shady. This house had Internet issues, the bunch of Nigerians there didn't even open up about the Internet problem. Till after I paid, moved in and asked for the wifi password, they roared in laughter.
Ladies and gentlemen, Nigerians will always be Nigerians.
I just walked to the shared room and ordered an Eire Sim. Eir is irish Sim. Very fast and all. I was happy to transfer my number to Eir and pay €20 for unlimited, after two weeks and Eir sent me a message and quoted a policy, it's called fair data usage, this guy will run down our company the way he's using our data, I consumed €100gig in two weeks. The didn't charge me extra or cut me off, they simply reduced the speed from 4G to 2G.

The 2G is good, if you don't subscribe, your whatsapp messages will still be going actually, so if you have a second phone and want to get messages, you can put a free Eir Sim it and that's how my BlackBerry Passport refused to be useless outside the house.

Then I moved back to Lycamobile later after I left that house of Nigerians. Before then, I had to shake the atmosphere of the house and make it too hot for my landlord, a new router came just after I paid for my first single room. I posted the pictures here, with the red arm chair, grin

I was using Eir while I wasn't working and was collecting Covid money, I was practically at home all the time. Just that I didn't subscribe to the network, I could get whatsapp messages when I left the house. Then I got this care job and it needed me to call my colleagues at work and clock in with the work app as I did my thing, then I went back to Lycamobile. With €10, I get 25gig, unlimited call and SMS. It's been great, I can take some time off and enjoy instagram vids with peace of mind and I sometimes get close to 15gig outside the house.

If you try to get a phone through this network guys, it's best to pay off, avoid those plans that make you pay monthly, it's a rip-off, saving your precious BTA is critical, that's why I'm typing all this,

Cheers. grin

The second reason clearly states that you are yet to convince the visa officer why you need to go for the course, what the course would do for you and the benefits of the course to your carrier when you return to Nigeria after studying in Ireland. You also need to explain why you want to study in Ireland, you need to convince the visa officer that you are a genuine student. As regards the first reason, you didn't explain if you are using a sponsor and the amount your sponsors had in his/her account, do you or your sponsor have a dependant? Pls clarify this.
Nelse:
I received a refusal letter last week from the embassy. the reasons for refusal are (1) insufficient fund when I showed 3516000 naira in my account after paying full one year tuition fees(2) Need to undertake the course in this state not demonstrated or warranted( i don't understand this). please how do I solve this..

This sounds great, which school are you heading to?
Olivesmusic:

I got a message from the visa office last week Wednesday that my application is being examined but it was noticed that my accommodation booking is not in line with the Covid-19 guidelines for people entering Ireland from Nigeria.

They told me to contact my school and liaise with them to get an advise on the booking and reply them within 3 working days or risk a visa refusal if I do not comply.

I had to contact my school immediately!!

The school gave me a list of accommodation options available and So I went to pay for a 3-week accommodation at the bank and snapped my Form A and it's duplicate as evidence as I knew that it will take time before the telex became ready.

I sent the evidence to the school and they helped me book the accommodation on Friday.

I sent every necessary files I could lay my hand on as evidence of accommodation booking to the embassy that same Friday in order to meet up with the 3-working days ultimatum I was given and I also forwarded the mail from the school showing that the school has booked the accommodation for me.

Lo and behold , my visa was approved and was published yesterday....

Hope this helps!!

Sounds good, if you are able to get the aforementioned you are certain of getting a positive response. Pls add the high court affidavit and death certificates as stated by you with the other documents it's very important. Your visa is about to be issued they are only waiting for you to supply the stated document. Congrats in advance. One last thing, when did you submit?
Unclenene:

It’s from Dublin.

I am also trying to reach our family lawyer if I can get my grandfather’s will where all the children were listed (my father and his siblings) and I can back it up with their death certificates. If I can get the affidavit down within early hours of tomorrow I will also add it to my submission if not I will just go by what I have and pray. Hope it works.
Travel / Re: GENERAL Irish (student)visa & Work Permit-New THREAD*** by Princeadex04: 3:31pm On Sep 03, 2020
You can send them a high court affidavit explaining the ties between you and your sponsor. The High court affidavit would fix that if you think you won't be able to get a NPC issued certificate. Did you received the mail from Abuja or Dublin and when did you submit?
Unclenene:
Please the embassy just mailed me to show the Birth certs showing the links between me and my sponsor. Please how can I show this link as both Fathers are late and we can not get their birth certs.

We need more of this, I understand what would be going through your mind when you first got refused. Thank God you scaled through. When did you got refused and when did you appeal? and after your appeal when did you get a decision?
Chibabe4Christ:
You are right...
For those that their visa were denied, am truly sorry about that but the truth is that I was once in that terrible mood when I was denied. I felt the world has collapsed on me but little did I know that it was the will of GOD.
What do I mean? My first application was 101% ok. I submitted everything even added extra documents to prove my transparency. My financial aspect was clearly stated. I had enough money left after i have paid my school fees, I presented my letter of employment, my pay slips, letter of recommendation from our HR..... Infact my statement of account I printed corresponded with my pay slips and inflow/outflow of money was 101% consistence. All the reasons for their denial were funny because they were part of the evidence I presented. Eg My financial status, date of birth (Note: I have never used another date of birth since my childhood, my WAEC result has my original date of birth crested on it, my birth certificate from NCC, my baptizmal card looking old you will clearly know that it was not forged in all they said I gave a fake date of birth... hahahaha. The ONLY thing I did not do was EDUBOND. So when I was apealing I used EDUBOND, immigration lawyer in Nigeria and presented all documents I submitted earlier according to the way it was stated in IRISH website.
Finally a decision was made and my visa was APPROVED.
My point is that GOD allowed the denial to take place so that I can apply for EDUBOND and doesn't have to be stranded. The exchange rate when I did the EDUBOND was N395 per 1 euro from black market against N552 per 1euro currently.
It has added extra 1million Naira.
Attimes God allows things happened for a purpose.
Just be optimistic and believe that God can do all things.
SHALOM!!

It shouldn't weigh you down, you should try and appeal regardless of the refusal reason(s).some are even yet to apply, let's see what the reason(s) are first and I believe you will get it when you address it. It's not to late to appeal for September intake. It will be treated along with other Sept applications.

I saw it in the last decision list published for Dublin, so are u saying I shouldn't appeal? Its really weighing me down
Travel / Re: Adventure In Ireland by Princeadex04: 2:51pm On Aug 23, 2020
If I get you right, Ireland embassy issues visa approval letters the same way they issued visa refusal letters
Chiggsglover:
Let's start the journey.
I finished Bsc 2017, finished serving at Kebbi in ending of 2018.
I started my application to Canada January, 2019. Admission letter came in June, I made friends at the Creepy cosmetic Agency at lekki. Some of them already had submitted that their visa application and were waiting for a response, 3 months, 4 months. My internal alarms started ringing. I ran to another agency. I was advised about the course to read, and the Visa application, I got lots of assistance from the Irish thread here.
I got my admission letter in 21 working days and I was WOWED. I would have applied for visa in September 2019, but my house wasn't set in order and had to push it to Jan, 2020.
We took our time to package my application. In exactly 7 weeks, I got a call from the Courier and Visa Approved was on the white paper that flew out. How I manage to not tear it out of Anxiety was beyond me.
It came in November, some days before my birthday which was in December. I didn't go out, just ate the cake my sister baked. The Happenings around me was enough to make me extremely satisfied and happy.
So you need, I wish I got this kind of advice, I saved myself from depression if I had gotten a rejection. Everyone I knew that applied to canada apart from one girl got a rejection. It was depressing, I felt their pain, that's why I'm taking my time to explain this country and document my adventures.
