So i got this "Japan used" Sharp-Aquos SHV37 phone a week ago. The phone is cool, considering the amazing price but i noticed some issues with it, guess the issues is why it's that cheap...

First is that the phone requires me to "choose dialing destination" asiin to add an international dialing code for all calls else the call won't go through.
It brings out a "dialing destination" dialogue screen each time i dial a number asking "To Japan" or "To Overseas" if i choose "to Japan" it will automatically add +81(Japan's dialing code) to the number inputed and dial but if choose "to Overseas" it will ask ask that u add the call destinatiion dialing code.
Even when I wan call Basira wey dey end of my street to ask weda her ewa agoin and agege bread don ready i must add +234 or the call no go go.

The main issue here is that there's no way for me to successfully dial any USSD code(*123#, *556# etc.) cause the thing go still dey require international dialing code and even if u add am(like +234*123#) it still wont work.
Incoming calls are working perfectly same also the browsing and its really fast(better 4G no be all those half-G wey dem tecno and infinix dey get) and the outgoing calls too so long i add the +234 to the numbers i want to call.

...and sim contacts too are not showing on the phone.

The seller still has more of the phone. If there's a way to fix the issue na to go buy the remaining ones be dat ooo.

Search for international dialing assistance and switch it off it will be fixed instantly.

However, I'd advice you to check out another manufacturer, Huawei is having issues with google and a lot of things are uncertain yet.

Google might eventually ban huawei from accessing their playstore, this could lead to other complications that have nothing to do with updating OS.

So, to avoid stories that touch, look at a different manufacturer like Samsung

Google can't block huawei from accessing play store except on the new devices. The already in market that are chipped Google will continue to have full access anything another Android can access.

After patrolling the used TV Market for hours and basically only seeing scraps that are not even worth checking out for me, I come across this Samsung 46-inch TV...

It isn't 4k but it's crystal clear with manageable speakers...in fact the display was much clearer than that Hitachi 4k TV I talked about earlie, and another 2017 LG 4k TV i saw earlier as well..it also basically ticked all my checklist except the power consumption part....it operating power consumption was 97 watts...and it does not play HEVC videos or support srt subtitles...screen mirroring function is perfect tho ....so I guessed I couldn't get all I need...since the screen mirroring was perfect, nothing stopped me from mirroring my hevc movies and srt subtitles from my phone to the TV using my phones VLC player...I tested that and it worked perfectly

I was already beginning to realise I was going to have to sacrifice some functionalities for some others...Scaling of Preference had set in ...

So I negotiated with the seller and we agreed on 136k including the TV wall bracket and installation ....

I am sha already trying to transfer the funds to the seller when I tell him to set up the TV to connect to my phone's hotspot....The TV will detect my phone's hotspot and even ask for the password to be put...but it refused to connect

We tried to connect the TV to my glo mifi...Same issue

In fact we spent another hour trying to connect to different phone and other hotspots...no success....TV will see the hotspot but cannot connect even after putting in correct passwords or even removing the password totally and making the hotspot an open one

The seller said he honestly had no idea the TV had such a problem...and I believed him because the screen mirroring which also uses wifi was working perfectly, and the TV could also detect hotspots but can't connect....

Much as I felt bad for the seller, there was no way I was going to sacrifice wifi connectivity...impossicant

So I stopped the funds transfer to him and left his shop...

The seller was a nice guy tho..he even paid for the rice I ordered to eat in his shop .too bad that Samsung had to mess him up like that

unless you mean African countries because this their new phones with krin chipset (which i even doubt their independence on it) will fail quality control test in some European countries and probably influence by the US remember Panasonic a UK owned firm pulled out from them so you see what America influence can do.

as it stands their only hope is African countries and the question is are we really ready to dump android?
remember companies like Xiaomi oppo are out to make profit and ask yourself are they really gonna risk dumping android and probably risk their US and Europe markets?

Hello all,
Me and my Samsung S9 fell into a ditch on Sunday, I was out under 20sec and I switched it off, left my phone to dry by wrapping it with a handkerchief and dipping into a rice bag when I got home. Till now, my phone hasn't been OK. I managed to put it on this morning, wasn't working fine, it displayed quite fine and other times, it gave me a white screen. It did this intermittently.
I took it to Slot service centre today and they said the screen is damaged! And that'll cost me 85k to fix.
All along, my initial thought was that the phone needed to be fully dry and maybe everything will work fine afterwards.
My question is, is the screen really damaged or what It displayed fine and even when it went off and showed me white screen, the Always On Display worked perfectly. A supposed water resistant phone ?! Someone should pls help me as I've some indispensable info on the phone. Thanks!

Bro, I will suggest u take that fone to a competent engineer to check the screen if there is water left over making the glitch.. I will suggest u don't put that fone on again until what I said is checked. If the fone still display normal and then go whitish then u av small hope.

Unfortunately, there product will also thrive in other parts of the world as well. Hauwei has a name already wether its chipped by google OS or not. It will still make its way into the international market. And by the way Google had trust issues too wen they came on board so, I don't expect to see Hongmeng grow so fast to challenge Google but all in all, we will av something different to taste
