GS300 3.0L V6 is the 3GR-FSE

Avalon 3.5L V6 is the 2GR-FE
GS350 3.5L V6 is the 2GR-FSE

Toyota motor company builds a different gearbox for all Lexus brands. No Lexus shears transmission with any Toyota brand. Only improved engine are sheared among toyota and Lexus.

2008 avalon engine is 3.5 litre, so does GS 2008 is 3.5litre and some GS uses higher version 4.3 V8 engine. 2004 Avalon is 3.0 liters same as GS 300 2006... except the I6 GS 300 2000-2004 model which was GS first generation like the Toyota Aristo.

I hope you are learning from this. Please be open minded when you are learning and don't call yourself a Car Guru when you are not.

Volvo S40 is a reliable European car with good body and interior styling but it has several models (04,05 06,07,08,09 has different shaft parts). For instance, when your shaft is bad, you will order for shaft and it won't fit because its another year model. I don't know why Volvo made some parts of this car hard to get. Their parts are scarce so you may end up parking the car at some stages when you want to replace a basic part that wear and tear.
I'm talking out of experience. My elder bro own a sexy S40 2004, we sold it after 5 months.. imported it ourselves. It came from USA with broken shaft rubber that houses grease and protects the shaft. During raining season, the shaft suffered water entering its bearing. We ordered for 3 S40 shafts at different stages but it didn't match with the model before we sold the car because of parts scarcity. I feel like buying another S40 but I'm still considering my previous experience with getting the parts. It's a good driving machine with enough safety packages

Keep on with the plan.. EOD 2002 to 2004 is more practical than Camry.. buy the I4 engine.. it has better fuel economy, less carbon emissions, less noise and it's more comfortable than Camry 2002-2004. The ball joint won't fail when you do regular checks and maintenance. This car really sold in US and its still used in US up till date compared to the Camry that has been shipped to all parts of Africa.. honda is a brand known for quality..

No major issues with Avalon 2000 to 2008... its luxury brand lexus GS 2000-2008 sold because it was rebuilt with better body style..
Avalon handling is excellen.. it's more luxurious than lexus ES.

Nice thread. My 2000 kawasaki ER-5 engine knocked. I'm looking for 90k to fix it.. I travelled from Edo to Niger state with it, used it very well during Christmas/newyear to run Suleja to Garki on a stead and I covered about 2000km in two weeks. First week of January, my engine water pump failed on my journey back to Edo state. Bike has been parked since second week of January. It's my first bike, I'm still a student.. I miss my bike.. I still feel I'm in the biking world.
