@Obnelly. Thanks. What i meant is additional gain on the signal strength. normally it is around 80% and once i get the satellite position it moves to about 81 or 82. Anyway i will give you a call later.
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Official Thread Of Free To Air Satellite Tv (part 4) by princeparis(m): 7:25am On Jan 18, 2010
I tried nailing W6 all through yesterday, no success. The same thing that happen with NSS 7 is what i noticed. I notice that at the satellite position the strength bar would rise a little bit (by 1% or 2)and i will lock in at that point but know matter what i do after the quality bar would still be zero. I am using HITV decoder with DSTV dish(85cm or there about). What could be wrong. I was able to track sirius/w3a using the same method with the daarsat dish, PLEASE HELP!!!

Satellite TV Technology / Re: Official Thread Of Free To Air Satellite Tv (part 4) by princeparis(m): 7:23am On Jan 06, 2010
@George and Pofolo, you guys are great. @ALL, thanks, various posts above on tracking was a great help. I have installed the dish, though it was kind of tricky being a first timer. i was able to track astra2b for pratice it was very easy doing that. i also track sirius by then it was getting late. This took some time because i was looking somewhere else. today i will track the w3a from sirius position and finalise the installation unfaillingly. thanks every one.
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Newbie In Satellite Installation: Introduce Yourself Here With Your Problems by princeparis(m): 1:08am On Jan 05, 2010
Thanks. got the dish and diseqc 2day. i would install tomorrow. should the disepc be outside with the dish or inside.
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Official Thread Of Free To Air Satellite Tv (part 4) by princeparis(m): 12:39am On Jan 05, 2010
@Pofolo and George, bought the dish and diseqc 2day. the only thing is that i dont know whether it is 1m or 90cm. it measured 1m horizontal and 90cm on the vertical, anyway i would install tomorrow. Even if its 90cm hope it will nail w3a and sirius together. if not the guy i got it from in oshodi is in trouble. By the way the dish is daarsat branded, is it perfect for the job.
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Official Thread Of Free To Air Satellite Tv (part 4) by princeparis(m): 7:46am On Jan 04, 2010
@Pofolo, i will just get the dish and diseqc switch then. which strong tp's can i use for tracking them.
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Official Thread Of Free To Air Satellite Tv (part 4) by princeparis(m): 12:46am On Jan 04, 2010
@Pofolo, I want kill three birds with one stone, I am thinking of getting the 1m dish motorised so as to nail this three - w3a, sirius and nss7. what do you think? But i dont know what the cost implication would be like. what is the hardware requirement. i want watch CAN live!
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Newbie In Satellite Installation: Introduce Yourself Here With Your Problems by princeparis(m): 6:04pm On Jan 03, 2010
Thanks, i was even thinking its going to cost a arm and leg. Imagine efry thing under 5k. This installers don reap me well well. The guy dat wants to upgrade the decoder ask for 3k even with begging for something dat is less than 15mins. Just plug in ur usb and you are good to go. Anymay its DIY from now on and i am enjoying it because i am a technical person. Cant wait 4 tomorrow. I will get a 1m dish and disepc and nail w3a. By the way what kind of channels are on w3a. I luv football.
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Newbie In Satellite Installation: Introduce Yourself Here With Your Problems by princeparis(m): 9:07am On Jan 03, 2010

Satellite TV Technology / Re: Official Thread Of Free To Air Satellite Tv (part 4) by princeparis(m): 8:56am On Jan 03, 2010
Think i might go for the 1m dish dat should give more leverage in terms of reception, what do you think. I will do that early on monday. Can i use two dishes on one decoder?
