SayITnw: The issue here transcends DANA Air. Candidly except for a recent flight from Abuja where the craft exhibited some noisy wonders before stabilizing mid air, I would have rated DANA to be great by superficial analysis of a non-expert. However, my perception about the airline is changing in the light of yesterdays unfortunate crash which is rumored to b due to DANA's Management compromise of quality and express nonchalance.
My fear is that, is this solely a DANA problem? Do we know what happening in Air Nigeria, First Nation, Arik, etc.? Can business owners just make decisions independently about their crafts without scrutiny by independent or government inspectors? What is the present practice? Has Risk Management Approach been adopted? If corruption which is presently the order of the day in Nigeria, have finally pitched a permanent structure in the Aviation Sector where safety is paramount, they it really SAD to announce that their are quite a lot of accidents/ air mishaps in wait!
Where do we go from here: 1. Government re dedication to the safety and well-being of the people of Nigeria through implementation of international best practices in all sector using the assistance of international technocrats/organizations. 2. Complete U-turn from Politicking on national issues. Politics should be relegated to party affairs, while we sincerely pursue national interests. 3. He who comes to equity must come with clean hands, corruption in governance must be eradicated; then it would be realistic to implement it outside government. 4. Government should fight corruption, empower the Judiciary and enforce the rule of law holistically. No man can be above the Nigerian Law - The Conscience of the Nigerian People. Punish offenders, even back in time. Make corruption unattractive. 5. Restore our institutions: Police, Customs, NAFDAC, NDLEAs, etc 6. Run the MDA on due diligence and customer satisfaction focus. 7. Passionately pursue infrastructural development while recurrent expenditures are radically reduced (reduce cost of running government in Nigeria, 1 National Assembly filled with working class technocrats & Diplomats)..............friends u can add more on to the proffered way forward.
To President Jonathan: Destiny have brought you at a strategic time...mistakes have been made already, no doubt somethings have been done so right too. It is not too late for your excellency to take a U-Turn, put your feet down, ride on the skills of available great minded Nigerians and many others available in the global community. I am convinced you can do it, if you really what to. You will step on toes though but these are not relevant compared to meeting the yearning of the common Man. You destiny is to begin the rebuilding of the Nigerian Project, and then pass the baton on through a well conducted national election. Please break loose from any attachment that would want to hold u back. Win back the trust of the Nigeria Populace and you will be untouchable. I again pray for you today and wish father land the very best.
NIGERIA WILL SHINE AGAIN.................. how i wish d president c dis & read it.May God help our Country. |

Flyboy Zee: What kinda Nigeria is this self?
When OBJ ruled, he did as he liked, how many of those funny, silly cretinous Lagosians protested? Whom did Yar'Adull consult before taking his decisions? Now that GEJ is president, the only thing you hear about his decisions are "it is not timely", "the timing is wrong", "he should have consulted with the people", etc.
Why is it that, the Yorubas must protest over every & any thing GEJ does? Why didn't they protest when that Egba Baboon from Ogun State was president, even when he (OBJ) witheld Lagos State's funds for as long as it pleased him. Why didn't they protest when BRF sacked the entire Medical Doctors in Lagos? If that act (sacking) was done by GEJ, they would have closed down Lagos and all their mumu states in protests. What annoys me most is when all those foolish people from other tribes join in, not knowing that some people are using them to pursue a yoruba/ACN agenda of discrediting whatever the president does. God is watching all of una. Flyboy Zee: What kinda Nigeria is this self?

londoner: I don't remember saying he was successful.....but to be honest he is no worse than those before him. My issue is that Nigerians are looking to him as if he is the Jesus that will change water to wine or Moses who will part the Red Sea..... for them....
Nigeria's success or failure will be and is as a result of Nigerians and what they do or fail to do........from the president right down to you and me...........that is FACT...
So he has not yet stopped Boko Haram in their tracks....did you think he could? So he has not yet stopped corruption single handedly....again did you honestly think he could?
Even the things you disagree with, like the budget, did you honestly expect him to police himself?
The tasks people are expecting him to have delivered by now are insurmountable for one man and unrealistic.
That can only be done with an administration that is largely focused on anti- corruption and also a people who are largely incorruptible and have their sleeves rolled up ready to work and sacrifice.......that is not the Nigeria I see before me currently to be honest. I feel that Nigerians as the electorate and citizens have been failures to be honest........they always step back and let failure happen. They thought going out to vote was all..........that was just the beginning. They have not yet seen their responsibility in this and how they have been the catalyst for todays Nigeria.
With a different type of people, the "colossal failures" as you put it would not occur in every single administration year upon year........
The man is not a magician or stronger than the prevailing political and social culture of Nigeria/ns.
If only moaning and pointing out obvious flaws delivered actual change.....Nigeria would now be a paradise.....lol. his d worst president we've ever heard if dat is wot u want 2 no,is just 2 dull 4 my liking & he shud not even bother 2 come in 2015. |
