manie: I doubt if it possible to buy at N200 and consistently sell at N1000 for 12 months.
You cannot compare a person who invested 100k in TB with a person who invested 100k into buying and selling, you need to give allowance for his sweat equity. Considering the time, energy and resources required to go and buy shirt in Aba and sell in Jos, I will allocate 200k for sweat equity.
And some of us have valuable things to do with our time rather than buying and selling stuff worth roughly about 100k brother I understand you that's right. Well this thread is educative and we don't just stick to NTB ideas alone but we also compare and contrast. The idea may act as a source of inspiration to some and junk to some its how you look at it that matters. in our previous discussion we did a little comparison between owning a rented apartment or investing the money into treasury bills if you read the previous pages you will enjoy both the calculation and discussion. So the idea is you can invest in NTB you are free to. but my explanation should trigger an idea in you and other members you can also add to it or show criticism we are all learning . criticism is also welcomed . emmmmm one last thing "a little profit with secured principal is better than huge profit and a great lost" - Princeuk21. (For the weak heart). and to them that believe all things are possible (for the smart risk taker) . Enjoy the thread. |

inze: . . . i would have asked him "how" rather than prove. The latter doesn't give one the chance to add to his knowledge that which he knows not. the truth is " Some investors just don't flow well with business." Location also plays a Paramount role in any business. what may sell well in kano may not sell very well in Bayelsa. So the fact is to purchase some products with such amount and sell at a fair price for three months after your market research ONLY IF YOU ARE INTERESTED TO DO SO. I got to a level of understanding that the only way one can enjoy NTB is by investing big even if it means Browning Only if you have a good reputation "social capital" and maybe a good asset for collateral. Now my boss inze said HOW? MATHS. Example 91Days NTB. 100,000x10/100/4 = 2500 (No tax deduction made). 2500/3 Months, that means you made 833.3 every month (well its better than the interest in Nigeria bank account ) Now let's say we have a high demand for shirt in Jos and we can buy from Aba Abia state at 200 per piece and sell at 1000 per piece (cost of logistics included in the price). Shirt N200x4000 PCs =N80,000 maybe cost of logistics = N20,000 (which should be lesser than that price) making a total of N100,000. If we sell a PCs for N1000x4000 PCs = N4000000-N100,000(Capital) = 3900000 (Profit). Pls Note this is only for those who are interested in Selling or increasing their fund before investing to enable them increase their financial capacity so as to invest Large in NTB. ( When there is a will then there is a way). NTB = BIG FUND = BIG PROFIT. THIS IS ONLY A ROUGH CALCULATION. PLS THE THREAD IS FOR NTB ALONE AND NOT SELLING. I TAKE A BOW . THANKS PRINCEUK21 |

Reyus: that 100k can be turned into 800k in a month if you invest it in the right business.
The question is which one is the "right business"? it all depends on the your location and your market research if you are interested to carry out one. |
Investment › Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by princeuk21(m): 1:15am On Aug 19, 2015 |
manie: It is better you get your interest and roll-over your principal if need be, TB are bought in tens of thousands but in practice it is in hundreds of thousands or millions.
That is you can invest 100k, 200k , 500k etc. If you invested 100k for 91days at 10%, your interest will 2500. Will it be proper to invest N102500 in TB, just asking. how many years do you want to invest that amount to give you back your principal? that 100k can be turned into 800k in a year if you invest it in the right business. all you need is a good research. |
Investment › Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by princeuk21(m): 1:12am On Aug 19, 2015 |
Caracta: Oh...ok. I understand your point. That's true. They encourage you to invest in fixed deposits instead. I don't think any of them is friendly towards T.Bills. You just have to show them you know what you want. and some will not listen to you or your 100k when some customers are busy investing 4 million in treasury bills now you see the gap? that's why some don't take the 100k most especially GTbank. |

NYSC › Re: JAMB Regularization Problem Encountered By Yabatech Prospective Corps Members by princeuk21(m): 3:13pm On Aug 05, 2015 |
kaysy: TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN
The Registrar, JAMB Head Office, Abuja Suleja Road, Bwari, P.M.B. 189, Garki, Abuja, Nigeria.
Dear Sir/Ma
COMPLAINT ON JAMB REGULARIZATION PROBLEM ENCOUNTERED BY STUDENTS OF YABA COLLEGE OF TECHNOLOGY ON JAMB PORTAL.
I, AMADI KINGSLEY IFEANYICHUKWU, a graduate of the Department of Building Technology, Yaba College of Technology with Matriculation Number F/HD/11/3510035 hereby wish to complain about the problem some students of the Institution are currently undergoing in their quest to complete their JAMB Regularization process on JAMB website which am also having same problem.
After paying for the JAMB Regularization Fee and a new JAMB Registration Number was generated for us, mine is (05172***FF), i have been unable to complete the process online because the courses listed under Yaba College of Technology are all Education Courses.
Kindly review the causes of this problem and make necessary corrections as this regularization process will be essential during our NYSC 2015 Batch B registration and mobilization which is due to commence soon, attached here are copies of my credentials showing that I graduated from the above named department and institution and a copy of all courses offered in Yaba College of Technology as downloaded from JAMB Website.
However, from our investigation so far, only students whose JAMB Registration Number starts with 05 are experiencing this problem, others whose JAMB Registration Number starts with 15 and 46 are not in anyway part of this problem as the complete courses offered in Yabatech are shortlisted in their portal during the regularization process. Thank You.
AMADI, KINGSLEY IFEANYICHUKWU 08024102554
NOTE: The Last 3 Digits of my JAMB Registration Number has been removed for security reasons. Kindly bear with me. Thank You Nairaland had refused an upload of PDF files above 250KB, so am left with an option to upload Yabatech Courses & My Personal Data Form ONLY. Many people in Uniport are having same issue. |

Etfash: If you read the comment well enough, you would see 'income'. If there is no income, there is no 'tax' as you read it in the books. You however pay certain fixed charges to a few revenue generating agencies of the FG.
1) Have you tried to get your TCC, even for years you didn't operate your business?
2) Have you visited CAC for any advise in recent time?
The point is, those charges are taxes because they take money out of your business, to allow you remain in the good books of the government and be able to bid for projects, not into it. The only difference is they are fixed. Cheers! pls what are those fixed charges and the revenue generating Agencies? |
Business › Re: Tax Advisors Needed.. by princeuk21(op): 2:11pm On Jul 22, 2015 |
Etfash: Yes to the first two. For the third question, apart from the VAT on your purchases or services as may be demanded by your clients or service providers, your company is taxed on its net income. I think 4 has been answered in the answers provided for question 3 above. For question 5, get to the Board of internal revenue of the state you are; you will be directed accordingly.
You may want to know more about VAT and company tax from google. please what are the implications if a sole proprietor fails to carry out this task and what is the fine like? |

Business › Tax Advisors Needed.. by princeuk21(op): 8:17pm On Jul 21, 2015 |
Hello, I will like to ask some questions about the payment of tax for a sole proprietorship business.
1) Do sole proprietors (One man business) pay tax? 2) If business is not carried out for a year do the sole proprietor pay tax? 3) If business is carried out how do the sole proprietor calculate the tax rate? 4) Is payment of tax same thing as VAT? 5) How do one get his or her TIN and what are the documents needed?
Thanks. |
Business › Re: Nairaland Contractors Lounge by princeuk21(m): 12:41pm On Jul 20, 2015 |
phemmy26: Nope. Tin is free in all FIRS office. Work in to any of the FIRS office with your business certificate, means of id, utility bill, and on your company letter headed paper, you write an application on it. Do not pay for any fee. I know sometimes they give Tips maybe to quicken the process which is normal and but its at your own discretion. Now to register and get your own TIN, it depends on your company address which then determines where and which of the FIRS you would be getting the TIN Thanks phemmy26 |

phemmy26: @ Dieumerci
VAT is just 5% charge on all goods and services. Now i dont know what kind of business you are into but what ever it is, when giving the final price to your customer, you are required to add 5% vat on it which is borne by the buyer/customer.I.E take a look at MR biggs or any of this fast food joint, take a closer look at the receipt and you would see evidence of them charging VAT. You take out your own money from the final price paid, then the 5 percent on it, you go and remit it to firs by filling the Vat returns form and take it to the bank and pay it. Most banks collect taxes on behalf of FIRS Good job guys. In a situation where i registered my business on 2nd of june 2015 and the business type is an Enterprise, do i pay a fee of any kind to get my TIN and what other documents do i get from them? |
