wag008:OK....Mine is the Coalition War Arc. That's actually my favorite manga arc from all series. Characters are Kyuo Kai, Kanki, Tou and Mouten |
Lol. Question of the year....is Shanks stronger than Luffy. Oh men... Twisting:Twisting pls don't twist him more, he doesn't know of haki yet. Zoro fanboys huh. |
Lol. I showed the cabol guy that he knows nothing on OP. Its possible he hasn't watched it yet at all. The power rankings are good and sometimes funny. Eg. Perona can mess around with all the Straw Hats but Usopp, the weakest in the crew will spank her. Kyros will beat up Doffy executives but a touch from Sugar will put him down. Hec some abilities makes power levels seem like a joke....Lol. I really like that. About not thinking for Oda, I learnt that the hard way. Everything I thought would happen didn't apart from Sabo's return yet I didn't expect that way and yet they all kept me hyped. Kishi tried it too but his unexpected events were inconsistent and pissed fans off.....For Oda, he'll do it and have his fans screaming 'Oda is a genius'....Lol. BTW guys....what are your favorite arcs and characters. I have MarineFord, Dressrosa and Water7. Then Zoro, Shanks, Law and Sabo. |
Lol landinfo. No mind them abeg, I know say na arguments make them 'active' it took them 1 year to have up to 9 pages, then all of a sudden, when inconsistencies became obvious, fan theories and arguments riddled the thread till 500 pages dem dey make noise with. Funny enough most of them there dont even know Naruto story very well, that why someone will say Kakashi copied susanoo, e neva even copy amaterasu finish...That's why I told them that empty vessels makes the loudest noises. OP got the music where it matters. 80% of Naruto discussions during the war were plotholes... 10% was Naruto vs Sasuke fanbase war....rest were just a bit constructive. Naruto fan base is full of confusions. But for OP, each chapter gives you constructive stuff to talk about and less arguments. As for the anime, seriously their slow pace gets on my nerves, but I don't really care so much. The manga gives the needed vibes. I just focus more on it. To download from kissanime, just register a free account with them.......have a video grabber on your system or phone. With system, chrome or torch browsers have it by default, and on phone I use UC web. Once you login to kissanime and play the video, it'll start downloading it for you. You can then close the video while it finishes the download. Alternatively, if you're using Android, download the anime app Animania.....every anime is also in it and clear quality at 50MB. |
wag008:Well, the story is geared towards him becoming the Greatest General under the Heavens, so he will someday. What's your favorite arc and your characters. |
wag008:Yay, Shin x KyouKai is gonna happen. Shin put Ten in the sister zone. That Ogiko is there for comic relief, but seriously, he's also strong a bit. Btw are u up to date. Shin has been paired with Kanki to attack Zhao, and Keisha is their opponent with another Zhao General. |
WackyJ1:I've long deleted all my naruto manga files and as I said I don't really wanna go back pointing out all the shitty stuff Kishi randomly introduced..... But I'm sorry if you as a so called Naruto fan don't know the difference between an MS marking and EMS marking. Next thing you'll try to prove to me that MS is not even needed for the susano'o because Kishi smoked a long pipe and made Madara pull it out while he had no eye balls in his sockets. jamilkb:Lol...I see una my paddy dem. I no kill anybody shaa, na Kishi wey slay him story, slay timelines, slay the fanbase and committed every single blunder that story writing will normally forbid. Landinfo abeg let's beware of claimers and disclaimers....Lol. |
Every anime is on kissanime.com |
wag008:Lol. Not just the graphics, they changed the storyline a lot too. Twas annoying. KyuoKai still has a chance though. Kyuo served under Ouki for years before she went independent. Kai can still do the same in a long run but I don't want her to leave yet. She's my favorite character there. Funny enough, I also have Kanki as a favorite despite his brutality. |
Episode 707 today. Flashbacks are done, the executives battles will soon start. They've started using colours on Doffy string attacks. |
Twisting:I don't think Fuji will back down, but he might not fight seriously. Thinking about it, Law might be able to use his shambles to keep up an escape for the whole ship. Where is Zoro right now is another big question. If the 3 novas make a coordinated attack, they might be able to create a window of escape. |
oluwanoni:Okay, Thx, we'll see what they have in stock with time. There were some parts of the series when Zuko was firelord and nearly picked a fight with Aang which they left in comic form. Would've loved if twas animated tho. |
Just check out. Mangastream made that statement more epic.
|
oluwanoni:Yeah. And Aang was done better than Korra. Wonder if they'll have another franchise. |
But then, look at the size of what Fujitora created, I wonder if they can escape it. |
wag008:Well, Ousen is not that dangerous. Ya know Kingdom is historical. And in history Ousen conquered a nation and took control of it for Qin. That's why the idea of him wanting to be king came in not that he wants to overthrow Sei. Mouten isn't really intent on the Great General stuff, that's why I think its Shin and Ouhon. |
hariorh:Lol so in ur brain having a non active thread on nairaland means that no one wants to talk about it... Besides, I've been chatting normal here before some disillusioned person talked about OP. wag008:I created a thread for Kingdom....let's talk a bit there. https://www.nairaland.com/2464148/kingdom-anime-manga |
wag008:Lol. Tou. Moubu. Ousen. Kanki. YonTanWa are all already on their way to becoming it. But I'll like Shin and Ouhon to grab spots. I don't think Kanki will make it to the race. His fighting style is too cruel for Sei. |
rapmike:I knew things that changed, I just don't want to repeat talks I've already held on other forums here. Even Kishi himself knows he lost it somewhere, especially during the war. That was the very period manga had a major breakthrough from Japan to the outside world, and that same period Naruto dropped from 2nd to 5th, normally had 6m copies in Japan alone, but that year, only 2m sold in Japan and 5m worldwide and Shueisha lost some money on it cos they produced copies which wouldn't sell. Bleach was even the worst. Funny enough, OP with its 'horrible' graphics not only maintained its 1st position, but it made Sueisha recover the loss on Naruto and Bleach selling 10m in Japan and 23m worldwide. Go to Shonen magazines, theyll tell you this, Naruto was at its best till after PAIN ARC. |
realtem:Lol. OK. Up to date. |
realtem:Lol. Did ya also watch the Korra settings. Sokka was my 2and character, then Iroh and Toph. |
Lol Wackyj....1st if you go a while back you'll know its actually your guys that started the OP vs Naruto stuff, as I said, those living in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. I know OP doesn't have an appealing graphics, but judging a story from that is lame. If you get past the graphics, you'll see something amazing. Also I don't need to go throw the whole thread cos I've been in several naruto sites and I know the arguements Kishi created are same everywhere.... But did you say you ppl agreed on points...Lol. There are different talks on this particular one now which are all invalid.... Kakashi copied susano'o, Obito awoke Ems, blahblahblah.... Dude, Perfect Susano'o has little to do with chakra...Madara with unlimited chakra kept using susano'o with his MS, and when he wanted to show the Perfect he switched to EMS. Sasuke's chakra base in MS and EMS were same but he couldn't even stabilize the normal susano'o with the MS talk less of using the perfect, but when he got the EMS, he made a stable susano'o and later the perfect.....its not about chakra or whatever, PS is purely an EMS technique. The normal MS won't be able to carry such a heavy tech, even amaterasu which is small compared to the susanoo distorts the MS so the EMS is totally needed for it. Mutaino....I never talked about Naruto and his infamous TNJ, so why bring it up.... Besides it was well mentioned that there were many other unnamed Uchiha that awoke the MS, only EMS was rare. I know all about that tomeo you're trying to point out. I've already addressed about Madara so won't mention that again. |
realtem:Lol. Yeah. The Legend of Aang series and another anime called Kingdom are my favorite series. And ZUKO is my favorite Character. In fact Prince Zuko is my internet name. |
Lol. Another funny excuse.... Obito unlocked EMS....Lol. Mutaino, your long paragraphs made no sense. Everyone knows that neither Kakashi nor Obito unlocked Ems Kaka used MS with perfect susano'o right off the bat. As for Indra, that dude used the EMS too not MS. Indra never had problems with blindness, which is what every MS user after Indra experienced. The MS became inhibited after Indra leading to people's quest for the EMS. And for those who will say he had the rikudo chakra, Indra never had such. He inherited the yin which is ocular prowess and Asura inherited yang which is the chakra. Madara's MS susano'o could have legs cos he already had the EMS and a perfect susano'o. And Mutaino, I already mentioned Shikaku's death so I knew he died. Kinkaku and Ginkaku didn't almost kill Tobirama as you stated......they were the ones who killed him and the 2nd Raikage. They killed the Rai in their village then waylaid Tobirama with 22 cloud ninjas in a forest. He was vastly outnumbered in an unfavorable place. And did you say Minato wasn't in his full strength as an Edo tensei....Lol. Orochimaru brought back the 4 hokages in their full strenght and didnt bother to control them. Madara wasnt really upgraded, Kabuto brought him back as a young man in his full strenght as he died. That was Maddy's edo advantage. And don't even get me started with the holes on Zetsu as a character.......seems you don't even understand what you watch that's why you can patch up anything and twill go with you. |
realtem:Lol. Funny dude. realtem:Pretty close, you'll soon catch up. |
1. Oda's Inspiration Behind One Piece (The Manga) As a child, Oda gained interest in pirates through a famous television series titled "Vicky The Viking". He was inspired by Akira Toriyama, creator of Dr. Slump and Dragon Ball and aspired to become a Manga Artist. He worked as an assistant to different manga artists for a few years before finally starting out with One Piece in 1997. 2. Oda's Inspiration Behind Characters Some confirmed, some unconfirmed. Below our Oda's (possible?) inspiration behind character designs. Spoiler: Character/Personality List And we know that a few characters are based on real world personalities, mythological characters and fictional characters. Below these characters and their inspirations are explained in detail (characters are ordered alphabetically). Aokiji/Kuzan Kuzan has been confirmed to be based on the late actor Yasaku Matsuda. One of the characters the actor played even had similar hairstyle, clothing and sleep mask design. Kuzan's birthday is also based on Matsuda's. Kuzan's nick-name (Aokiji) is taken from the Momotaro Legends. Akainu/Sakazuki Akainu has been confirmed to be based on the famous Japanese actor, Bunta Sugawara. Akainu's real name, Sakazuki is apparently based on the three movies of Bunta Sugawara with "Sakazuki" in the title. Akainu's birthday is also based on Sugawara's. The name "Akainu" is taken from the Momotaro Legends. Basil Hawkins It has been confirmed that Hawkins' name is derived from a real life pirate and a navigator. His given name came from Basil Ringrose, while his surname came from John Hawkins. Boa Hancock, Boa Sandersonia and Boa Marigold The three sisters are based on the Gorgon Sisters from Greek Mythology. Capone Bege It has been confirmed that Capone Bege is named after the real life 1920's gangster, Alphonse "Al" Capone. His inspiration is both from Capone as well as the English privateer, William le Sauvage. He also shares his birthday with Al Capone. Donquixote... His surname is a reference to Don Quixote, the main character of the famous Spanish novel "El ingenioso hidalgo don Quijote de la Mancha", while his given name, Flamingo, is a bird whose plumage resembles Doflamingo's flamboyant jacket and likely comprises it. Ironically, while Don Quixote imagined he saw giants and attacked them, Donquixote Doflamingo has a Devil Fruit powered giant working for him. The Donquixote in the novel also had a loyal horse called CORAZON. His physical appearance is similar to the famous French singer Michel Polnareff Emporio Ivankov Is confirmed to be inspired from The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Specifically, Ivankov's look is based on Tim Curry's Dr. Frank-N-Furter role. His tendency to call people "candies" could be a reference to a line from the Rocky Horror song 'Sweet Transvestite', "...he thought you were the candy man." Another similarity the two have is the fact that they can both turn men into transvestites. Enel Is based on a Japanese mythological "thunder god" known as Raijin. His design is based off Eminem. Eustass Kid It has been confirmed that Kid is named after a real life pirate, William Kidd, who was also nicknamed "Captain". His surname is taken from Eustace the Monk, another real life pirate. Fujitora/Issho Fujitora has been confirmed to be based on the Japanese actor Shintaro Katsu, more specifically his role as Zatoichi, the blind swordsman. Hannyabal Although not confirmed, many believe Hannyabal is based on the the Hannya mask. Jewelry Bonney It has been confirmed and Bonney is named after the real-life 18th century Irish female pirate Anne Bonny, a noble turned pirate, who operated in the Caribbean. Kizaru/Borasalino Kizaru has been confirmed to be based on the Japanese Actor Kunie Tanaka, Kizaru's clothes, real name (Borsalino) and birthday, are apparently based on a movie character that Kunie Tanaka played in his youth. His nick-name "Kizaru" is taken from the Momotaro Legends. Pirate King Roger Upon his death, the real life pirate Olivier Levasseur had tossed a cryptogram from the scaffolding into the crowd and told them if they could figure out the message, his treasure would be theirs, a treasure that to this day has never been found. This seems to have been part of the inspiration for Roger's legendary death speech, as Roger himself had delivered the message to find his treasure, and notably the Poneglyphs are also part of a grand cryptogram leading to the end of the Grand Line. Sabo Is possibly inspired by Artful Dodger, a character in Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens. The characters share similar style's of clothing (top hat, sleeves, etc) and they are both of "mischievous" group of children. Sanjuan Wolf Known as the "Colossal Battleship" is possibly based on the Spanish Battleship/Warship San Juan Nepomuceno. The warship also participated in the "Battle Of Trafalgar". Scratchmen Apoo It has been confirmed that Apoo's name is derived from real life Chinese pirate, Chui A Poo Sentomaru Is possibly based on the Japanese folklore hero Kintarō (also known as samurai Sakata no Kintoki), who was notable for wearing nothing but a bib, carrying a massive axe, and sumo wrestling with bears. Additionally, his attack, Ashigara Dokkoi, is a pun on Mt. Ashigara, the place where Kintaro was raised. Shanks is based off an English King, Edward Long Shanks. He's so tall that even friends tremble at his presence. An enemy once confronted him and fainted by just a look at his eyes (Conqueror Haki) Shiliew Is possibly inspired by Yasunori Kato, a fictional character. Trafalgar Law It has been confirmed that Law's name is derived from real life pirate Edward Low.Law's apparently infamous cruelty echoes Edward Low's own reputation for violently torturing victims before killing them. Vander Decken IX Not officially confirmed, but Vander Decken IX is inspired by the Flying Dutchman legend. He is the captain of the ship "Flying Dutchman" and as a Fishman, Vander Decken is a devil fruit user making him unable to swim, where as most other adaptations portray the captain in a human form who cannot step onto land. Whitebeard and Blackbeard Both are inspired by real life pirate known as Edward Teach. Whitebeard's character design and traits are also confirmed to be based on the owner of the pub Oda liked going to. The owner often sat down in the store with medical equipment hooked up to his nose and drank, calling sake "medicine" while telling war stories. Whitebeard's own line in his first appearance, "I'm not talking to any snot-nosed airheads." was in fact an exact phrase the owner often said to customers. Unfortunately, the pub owner passed away by the time Oda revealed this fact. Urouge It has been confirmed that Urouge's name comes from the real life 16th century Turkish pirate, Oruc, one of the Barbarossa brothers. X Drake It has been confirmed that Drake's name is based on real life privateer, Sir Francis Drake. 3. Oda's Inspiration Behind Locations The various locations in One Piece make you wonder, wow the world is really huge isn't it? Let's see what inspired Oda to create these "locations" (or possible inspirations). Baratie Oda used to work part-time in a restaurant called "Baratei" (literal meaning 'Rose Arbor'), although not confirmed by Oda, Baratie's name may have been inspired by this restaurant. Arabasta The geography, architecture, culture and many things relating to Arabasta (Alabasta) are references to ancient Egypt and the modern Middle East. The name possibly comes from alabaster, a mineral commonly found in ancient Egyptian artifacts. Jaya The name of the island may be a reference to the real-life Indonesian island of Java, or probably the Island of Papua (Papua was named Irian Jaya before it changed back into Papua in 2003). The Island of Papua has the shape of a bird's head. It should also be noted that the name could be derived from the Sanskrit word "Jayakarta" meaning "victorious deed", which interestingly enough is also the origin of the name of Indonesia's capital city Jakarta. In Indonesian Jaya means "Glory" and "Victory" in Sanskrit and Malay. Water 7 It has been confirmed (by Oda himself, in SBS of Volume 38) that Water 7 is inspired from the city of Venice. "Aqua Laguna" is also based on it's real life counterpart the Acqua Alta. Tree Of Knowledge Located at Ohara, it is possibly a reference to the Tree of Knowledge in the bible which is said that Adam and Eve ate from (when told not too) and gained the knowledge of Good and Evil. Its fate is the same as the library of Alexandria, one of the largest and most significant libraries of the ancient world. Sabaody Archipelago The name is possibly derived from the Portuguese word "Sabao" which means "soap" and corresponds to its unique environment wherein soap-like bubbles come out from the trees. Amazon Lily It has been confirmed (by Oda himself, in Volume 55 SBS) that Amazon Lily is inspired by and modeled after China. Impel Down Impel Down seems to be heavily based on how Hell is described in Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy. Both are level-based, "inescapable" prisons with unique forms of punishment per level, and the lower one traverses, the worse the punishments become. But the landscape itself is from Alcatraz an inescapable island prison in US. Mariejois The palace seen whenever the holy land of Mariejois is shown bears a resemblance to the Château de Chambord, located in France. It is unknown if Oda has been inspired by Chateau de Chambord. Dressrosa Dressrosa is possibly inspired by Spain, particularly the regions of Andalusia and Catalonia, as evidenced by the architecture, clothes, flamenco dancers, typical cuisine, and Spanish terminology. Thepassionate murders that are so common in Dressrosa is also commonly present in Spanish literature, particularly during the Romantic era in early 19th century. The fighting fish native to the island seem to resemble bulls, both in appearance and temperament. Bullfighting itself is a popular sport in Spain. It also has some hints of the country of Italy, as it features a large colosseum where gladiators would fight to the death for the amusements of the spectators. There are many more and some to come. Oda researches while writing. |
hariorh:If you gauge plots by deaths, then bro, some people died and they rested in peace. |
Ultimatesammie:Lol. You're yet to talk about what you really mean by this unscathed and no sense of danger you've been yapping on. Zoro almost lost his life against Mihawk, gave himself a deep cut against Mr3 Candle special, brink of death against Mr1 and Enel's lightening...no need talking of Kuma. Luffy has had many near deaths, saved by circumstances or people, and often sleeps for several days after big battles, Sanji barely walks away, Usopp always gets beaten except by distant enemies.....only you know what you mean by walking out unscathed cos if these are compared to Naruto, Naruto is the one that comes unscathed. OP has funny looking abilities though. That's the comedy included. But no matter how funny, they're still pretty dangerous when used. |
nani667:Gomu fruit, Luffy...Episode 1. Detachable clowns, Captain Buggy, ...Episode 5. Well bro, these ain't the only things in OP. |
ctuagent007:Well, maybe he might tell them in his normal way. Or Fujitora when they're about to leave. Something like '.....did you really expect to catch 2 D's?' Well we'll see how twill play out. About the Reverie meeting, its a meeting of the WG with the Kings under them. Its been mentioned as way back as Drum Island arc. Fujitora may not attend as a marine, but he might bring it up in some other way. 2 years ago Dragon sent to gather his chiefs before the year of the meeting, so he has his eyes on it. Hody also wanted to interrupt the meeting and establish the Fishman empire on land. Now Fujitora wants to bring in a dangerous agenda too. I'm also hyped for that arc and I'm sure some chaos is bound to unfold there in Mariejois during that meeting. I bet twill be from the Revolutionary Army. |
caboltx: caboltx:Lol....Funny dude. I enjoyed Naruto while it lasted though. If not for anything, some of its battle scenes were awesome and it had good one liners. The which is better debate wouldn't have been if some Naruto fans hadn't tried to bash. |
caboltx:I'll give you a little lecture on both series. Usopp has no such dreams of being the best sniper. His dream is to be a brave warrior of the sea. WB isn't interested in one piece, if he was, he would've been the Pirate King after Roger, cos Roger wanted to show him the way. His dream is to build a family. That's why his 'sons' calls him 'pops'. You obviously don't watch OP, u've seen a few episodes and maybe been where twas discussed though. Indra had the EMS, he never complained or had problems with blindness even after many fights. He doesn't need another MS to attain the EMS because he was the 1st inheritor. It became inhibited in the next generations making them to need another MS to attain the EMS. And that's how he could use the perfect susano'o. Anyway I can relate to the rikudo chakra excuse as a Naruto fan too cos there are many times Kishi makes fans to plug in things to fill up holes he let in. But it doesn't mean they ain't there. The little details Kishi would ignore, are what Oda won't. He fills it in himself and that's why OP is a masterpiece. |
and I'm up to episode 426 (although I jumped some fillers) in shippuden. I'm at episode 74 in naruto

he didn't take anybody's MS
