It is obvious that you are a Catholic hence the need to DEFEND your Church.
Instead of allowing your emotion to cloud your thinking, I humbly suggest that you make more research on Martin Luther's 95 theses. I'm not against any church. Learn to be objective sir.

On 31 October 1517, a young man by name Martin Luther nailed a 95 theses on the doors of the Roman Catholic Church in Wittenberg Germany.

In the theses, he enumerated some weird practice by the Roman Catholic Church which was contrary to what was written in the Bible. Example of such practices was the payment of money to a priest to obtain forgiveness.

He was termed an ENEMY, BLASPHEMER, VOICE FROM THE PIT OF HELL and other derogatory nomenclature.

Like a wildfire, he gathered much following and denominations such as the Calvins, Lutherans, Methodist among others sprang up.

All modern day Churches owe their birth to this noble act by Martin Luther and his followers.

Coincidentally, this year makes it exactly 500 years since Martin Luther King nailed his theses.

Instead of making post about what exactly led to this hot topic, people are writing about reasons why they are paying their tithe.

Is this the bone of contention? Certainly not.
The underlying cause of this issue is not unconnected with the acts of some men of God in recent times.

The flagrant display of opulence by some Men of God has led to erroneous call being made for Christians to stop paying tithe.

In today's Christianity, any act of questioning is viewed by many as an attack on the Church. The church has enough spiritual battles to fight than getting itself enmeshed in a topic that has no significance.

When people start attacking that which is VISIBLE in our lives, then something is wrong somewhere.

Some week ago, the Arewa Group which is made up of youths in the Northern region issued an Ultimatum to the Igbos living in Northern Nigeria.
The Igbos were given a 1st October deadline to vacate the North or risk being slaughtered.
As a show of retaliation, The Niger Delta Avengers, BIAFRA group and other militant groups in Southern Nigeria issued the same directives to Northerners living in the region.

The forgoing has heightened the already existing tension in the country.
Recently, a video clip has emerged showing the self acclaim BIAFRA Messiah Nnamdi Kanu surrounded by ''Military Men'' in black.

It is generally agreed that any society that fails to learn from its past will suffer the same fate again in the future. I'll use some analogy to back this up.

Before World War II began, the Allied powers pursued a policy of Appeasement to pacify Adolf Hitler.
From the Sudetenland to checkoslovakia, Adolf Hitler gradually pursued his policy of Lebensraum(breathing space).
It was not until Poland was attacked that the allies had to honour their agreement. By this time, it was a little too late.
The most deadly war in history could have been avoided if Hitler was stopped from the beginning.

In 1966, a similar threat was issued by the Northerners against the Igbos. Over 20 thousand Igbos were killed and their properties were destroyed.
Northerners living in what was then Eastern Nigeria experienced the same thing.

In 2009, a certain Yusuf was a fiery Islamic preacher in Borno. The government allowed him to gain sway while teaching a distorted form of Islam. In 2011, he was ''Accidentally'' killed by a policeman. His death led to what is now known as BOKO HARAM.
There are numerous examples to show that it is better to treat a wound before it degenerates into a Gangrene.

In all the instances cited above, the common theme is INACTION. This will lead me to ask some questions which I passionately plead for your contributions.

1) What is the fate of Northern and Southern Corpers living in Southern and Northern Nigeria should each group carry out its threat?

2) How many of us are truly prepared for war?
I've read numerous comments mostly from agitators of Biafra making outrageous statements like ''Give us Biafra or War'', ''Biafra or Blood'', etc.

Let me share an experience that I had about a communal clash some years ago.
I grew up in Odukpani LGA of Cross River state. Two neighbouring villages Oku Iboku and Ikot Offiong clashed in 1999.
I can remember carrying my boxes with my mom who was with my kid brother on her back. The gunshot and shouts couldn't let me sleep for days. I still remember them till date.
I lost some uncles and cousins. My dad escaped death by the whisker.

Also, my dad once told me the horrible tales of the Civil War. He said that Lizard was a good meal and any leave was just edible. He too lost some friends.

2b). A former minister of Education Obi Ezekwelezi (I hope I spelt her name right) recently describe our present condition as similar to Dr Congo and the Horrible Rwanda case.
Do we have anywhere to run to should war or ethnic cleansing break out?

3) What exactly is our role as youths to combat this evil trend. It is often averred that WE ARE THE LEADERS OF TOMORROW. If tomorrow is dead, where and when will we lead?

4) What is the role of the church to quell this tension?
The Church has always been either a tool for Progress or Destruction.
The Story of the Conquistadors and the Role of the church in WW 2 makes this more glaring.
Apart from prayers being offered, what concrete steps is the church taking? Faith without work is dead. What is the WORK of the Church?

5a) Lastly, why have those Arewa youths not been arrested for making such evil statements? Are the security forces simply using the policy of Appeasement or Selective Engagement?

5b). Why has Nnamdi Kanu not been arrested for floating court orders and the terms of his bail?
N/B. Nigeria's security forces has been strained considerably as a result of the Boko Haram incident. Over 30 percent of Nigeria's Arm forces are in the North East.

I humbly seek your objective opinions.

A mere sight of these guys in their uniform evokes fear into the heart of an ordinary Nigerian.
In other countries of the world, the Army is often praised for its gallant personnel and unselfish acts to the growth of such country. In Nigeria, the reverse is often the case.
This bad yet erroneous view of the army is not unconnected with the repressive and inhumane treatment some Nigerians have suffered in the hands of men in khaki. Many youths in the indomie generation may not truly understand the 'Pains' the older generation have passed through in the hands of the men in Khaki Uniform.
Books and articles have been written to portray the repressive nature of these noble men. Yet, very few people have actually shown Nigerians the other side of the Army.
I saw a post some days ago by a friend Bright Udo Ekanem extolling the virtues of the military. The post spurred this short write-up.
The Boko Haram crisis have claimed the lives of over 100,000 Nigerians and has led to the displacement of more than 2 million Nigerians since 2011 (Naij.com and premium times).
Although there is really no accurate information about the number of soldiers who have lost their lives, yet some analyst have put the numbers of soldiers who have died to be more than 700. The real figure may surpass this though.
These men are humans like you and I who have made a choice to defend our fatherland. While some may have enlisted out of unemployment or any reason, yet their bold courage to say YES has automatically given them the Right to be celebrated.
They are always called up to help the Police in cases that are way beyond the police Control.
They are often given the 'dirty job' and are the least rewarded in terms of remuneration among the arm forces.
Many of them have returned home in body bags. Others come home with one leg or with a hand shattered by gunshot. What about the Post Traumatic Stress those in the warfare face? Many children are left fatherless and once married women become widows.
Their single code to be lowkeyed has made them sometimes overlooked by the Public.
There is no doubt that the army needs more training in respecting Human Rights and also in engaging in a cordial relationship with the ''Bloody Civilian''. There is also no doubt that Honour should be given to those whom honour is due.
We the civilian also have to give them the respect they need and also to cooperate when its appropriate.
The next time you see one come your way, just offer to say a ''hi''. Sometimes that is just what they need.

The best graduating student in the just concluded Convocation of The University of Calabar was given 10,000 Naira only. This young man who broke the First Class record hasn't been given even a toothpick in recognition of his Hardwork. Tomorrow we'll say that Nigeria will be better.
Well-done brother. This is just the starting point. Never ever give up.

I'll really love to see the response of the army to this ugly incident. If the youths reaction led to the destruction of properties, I bet you that our army's response will lead to the loss of human lives.

Someone who hasn't really 'hussle' before will laugh at that young man there. Do you know how tired and exhausted he is? Has he received his salaries?
In developed countries, he should be given a good uniform with the right equipments.
