I watched the clip where top military officers appealed to the shiite guys to let them pass, all to no avail. It would have been a big shame for a chief of army staff to be turned back (disallowed from continuing his journey) by mere civilians. After all, he could not have been aware that the shiite leader is above the law and when he is passing nobody (including the governor of the state, probably the president) is allowed to pass. The military men could not have contemplated the kind of resistance that would follow their decision to force their way through the shiite procession. The casualties is quite unfortunate. |
I agree absolutely with the timing of the protest. The conference was aired live as a publicity stunt to boost the image of the chairman. His strategy is to present himself as a corporate czar to the world. The protesters showed the world who he really is, a man who cannot manage any business successfully. In short, an "agbero" executive with gutter ways. A real leader cannot be ignorant of the welfare of his staff, to be acting ignorant of non payment of so many staff for so many months is simply to be deceiving whoever will choose to be deceived. Who knows, he probably didn't provide the MDs tools to work effectively. |
Feeling very sorry for Nigeria right now. Even if the president isn't scholarly enough to read the budget through before presenting the same to the national assembly, how about the retinue of aids and assistants in the presidency. I thought we have too many brilliant minds in this government to allow this kind of gaffe. For a broke country like Nigeria, one can only pray that madness like yearly allocation for items that can last for years will become a thing of the past. |
It seems like FFK's mental and emotional state is getting worse. I think the family should watch it. The situation wasn't this bad before. Now it 's becoming obvious something is wrong. |
I cannot agree with you more. I watched the screening, he was distancing himself from award of contracts as if that was not the pivot of governance in Nigeria. Governors don't sign cheques but some of us know enough to state without equivocal that governors are involved in the award of all major contracts under their watch. From the few allegations of ridiculously inflated contracts under Fashola, we can safely conclude that the guy is not at all whom he wants the public to think he is. Having been cleared by the senate, in this assignment as minister, we will keep our eyes on him and all the contract awards in his ministry since as he wants us to believe he is not keenly interested in the amount of contracts and his surbodinates can put any inflated figure to a contract without his notice. That attitude (if we can stupidly believe him) cannot help the finances of our country at this time in the face of dwindling fortunes in the income of government. |
Thanks so much for the info. I will bear this in mind the next time I'm buying a bag of rice. |
dominique:I wonder too. I visited Elizade plaza in 1999 and I remember Deola Sagoe 's showroom was there. I visited the outfit then and didn't really connect to the designs. I believe it is all hype really. The way the cookie crumbles |
Refuse to be intimidated. He told you then he gave it to you as gift, let him know he cannot change it now. If he insist on having the money then he has to give you as much time as you require to raise it. Please, do not allow him to harass you, inform the police if necessary. If indeed he wants you to give him your virginity because of some debt, he is not your friend; and you better stop treating him as one. |
Definitely, the company is not doing well like before. The income was enough to pay the salaries without worry before, but the fortune of the company is going down that is what is giving the boss ''headache'' that leads to nagging. I'm sure about this. |
[quote author=dodoniyi post=33438780](B) If you were born on a TUESDAY: • You are very active, lively and have a vivacious demeanor. You have warrior-like qualities. • You are brave and serious in your work, and will always have people to help you out. • You worry a lot and the more you worry, the more problems you attract in your life. You should learn to let go and relax; and lead a hassle free life. Simplify your living and life will become more endearing. • You are overtly materialistic. Though your taste in material possessions is quite good, but sometimes you overindulge and end up buying more things than you need—be it clothes or anything else. You should learn to save money. • Though you ask other’s opinions a lot, you eventually do what you think is right. So instead of asking around too much, spend time thinking on your own and weighing the pros and cons on your own accord because in the end, you will take your own decision. • You are very straight-forward, and often do not think before you speak. This results in many people ending up in misunderstanding you. • You are hardworking but also very sensitive which makes you somewhat difficult to deal with. COMPLETE MISS. Thank you President Jonathan for your great gesture. On this occasion and in this election you have truly made us proud as a people. The era has come when we can proudly raise our heads as Nigerians. Thank you Mr President, for your magnanimity I forgive you all your sins. |
