DerideGull:Be faking smile their (I know its paining you), mumu people. You all did not break away when a 24/7 high drunkard from the South was in Aso rock its now that a no nonsense general is around that they want to secede I wish you luck. The best thing to happen to Nigeria is the fall in the price of oil. No more money to share like before means red eye from the Nigerians and the no nonsense general in Aso rock. We must recover our stolen funds at all cost to finance part of the budget, the bazaar is over and am loving it. Dont forget your Baba blue o! Cause this Bubu go make your likes rant tire! |
DerideGull:You will rant for at least 3years, so prepare yourself. Buy Baba blue and vicks if need be so that your throat is always clear! Unah go chichom thing. ![]() #carrygobenevolentdictator! |
Johnrake69:Silly post, the fact that the Senate of Nigeria is presently been lead by a man who currently has numerous cases bothering of financial misappropriations court somehow does not bother you. A Nigerian president for once hearkens to the voices of the masses and acts humanely by cutting down on the amount budgeted to his office/person and it becomes a national disgrace...you head needs to be examined! |
Descartes:So you are angry that the budget was sneaked out so that the president could make reductions from his expenses freeing more funds for developmental projects in Nigeria? I bow for you! You are enemies of Nigeria, luckily you have your march in Buhari! Mr president carry go! |
DerideGull:What bothers you about this whole saga? are you worried that the presidency cut down on his cost or the process in which he took in cutting down on this cost? |
EZEIGBO1OFIMO:Bro I used to think like you before I gained more experience. If you know your stuff, you can persuade anybody especially Rich people to do seemingly impossible stuffs for you. Guy do you know what professionalism means? at 26 years I was advising the biggest boys in South/south Telecommunications industry, head of depts in the likes of shell/chevron/elf e.t.c (not that they knew my age though, but it didnt matter), they would not make a serious financial decision without talking it over with me. I have on a lot of cases told them not to liquidate their investments and source alternative means to finance their pressing projects and they often adhere to my advice. impossible is nothing. It may not make sense to you till experience it. |
grad2012:Give insight please. |
ojnnaco:Hmm..that strengthens the preposition. But why is it like that? |
ojnnaco:So if you have two persons with exactly the same capabilities and qualification for a Job and you only have a vacant position would you tend to favor the better looking person and give him/her the job? |
ojnnaco:LOL! |
I like to know your views on this topic, is this often the case in Nigeria? I will not deny that I have enjoyed some undeserved privileges thus far in life because of the way I look, but I guess its not enough to arrive at a conclusion. Please I like to hear your views and experiences on this Studies have shown that attractive people are usually hired sooner, get promotions more quickly, and are paid more than their less-attractive coworkers. Attractive people earn an average of 3 or 4 percent more than people with below-average looks, according to Daniel Hamermesh, professor of economics at the University of Texas at Austin and author of the book "Beauty Pays: Why Attractive People Are More Successful." Researchers have studied the concept of beauty as a factor in a person’s success over and over again, and in multiple ways. Beautiful people tend to bring in more money for their companies, and are therefore seen as more valuable employees and harder workers, according to an article in Psychology Today by Dario Maestripieri, a professor of comparative human development, evolutionary biology, and neurobiology at the University of Chicago. A door-to-door insurance salesman is better able to sell to customers who find him attractive, says Maestripieri, because the customers will be more likely to buy if they think it will increase their chances to have sex with him. Maestripieri calls this principle “the pleasure of dealing with good-looking people.” “Good-looking people are more appealing as potential sex partners,” Maestripieri says, “and [so] other people choose to interact with them, to spend time near them, talk with them, buy insurance from them, and hire them as employees.” Hamermesh, however, believes that it's not just the sex appeal that makes attractive people more successful. He writes that attractive people tend to have desirable personality traits, like higher self-confidence—likely a direct result of their good looks—that appeal to employers. “Beauty may just reflect reflect self-esteem. Perhaps people’s self-confidence manifests itself in their behavior, so that their looks are rated more highly, and their self-esteem makes them more desirable and higher-paid employees,” he writes. “Another possibility is that beauty and the attractiveness of one’s personality are positively related, and that it is the general sparkle of one’s personality, not one’s beauty, that increases earnings.” Source: http://www.businessinsider.com/attractive-people-are-more-successful-2012-9?IR=T |
morbeta:Mob action will soon start...just let things get tighter economically in Nigeria, the masses will take out on the elite. Even hardworking rich people will not be spared. You have the likes of Dopkesi to thank. |
barcanista:You obviously missed the part where it was stated that able bodied men were condemned SOLELY based on the identification of ONE informant. This topic is pensive and we should be sober and reflect on the revelations instead of chorusing its collateral damage. If we continue with this kind of mentality, then we are soon going to be at the receiving end of this ''collateral damage''. |
kernel504:Please be coherent, I do not understand what you are saying sir. |
barcanista:I used to think you were intelligent sir. Did you read the report? or watch the video? You probably did not see any of that before rushing to comment. |
skydeexie:You are so sure that all those youths killed were members of the Boko haram sect or, do you speak like this because you and your loved ones are in far away South, far from the reach of this terror been unleashed by both Boko haram and the Nigerian Army? I am trying so hard to get your point sir. |
kernel504:Is the American army killing Americans?? |
Excellentmind:DUMMY SHUT UP AND READ THE REPORT! There is nothing Excellent about your mind if you reason like this! I am sick of your likes trolling all over nairaland already. |
bighuntenter: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=poL1GBpKBY8&feature=youtu.be Going through the comments one would understand why Africans/Nigerians are regarded as monkeys. AI has done an investigation and released a report on the genocide perpetrated by the Nigerian Army on Nigerian people in the fight against Boko haram, and some dumb persons here are talking about Obama's crime in the middle east, bla bla bla; even with out reading the report or watching the documentary. For Christ sake, this crimes where perpetrated on NIGERIANS by their own army and not on Ghanaians or Egyptians. This report is damming and must be investigated. How do you condemn thousands of people to death based only on been identified or pointed out by ONE of your informant? No interrogation or investigation to ascertain your ONE informant's claim. This is the reason the army is not making a head way in the fight against Boko haram. The people in that region see the army as their enemy and would likely not assist them with required information. Please before you run your mouth like a brain dead mammal, read the AI report or better still watch the video on you tube so that you can have a grasp of what is been talked about. |
DICKtator:Monitor your investments closely bro. In cases I have seen, investors who become dormant over a long period of time are often the victims. And don't mind me, I exaggerated a little bit earlier. Cheers! |
davide470:You are informed Bro, Well done! |
davide470:My question was rhetoric. Am not talking about the issues arising from deduction of Management fee and contractual portfolio management. Most of the cases in my involvements has been the inability of some Financial houses to meet up with the obligations to clients timely (am talking about up to 3months after maturity) and sale of dormant clients stock without there authorization. Talking about Asset management, plenty Investment houses operate like a Ponzi scheme. How does SEC monitor activities of the Asset management Arm of Investment houses? Note that this question is not rhetoric. cheers! ![]() |
davide470:Not all MDs as you noted Bro. Basically Asset management arm. Though there are occasional cases of sale of clients stocks without their authorization and besides who regulates Asset management? |
ElFenomeno1:Ok lets wait and see. Lets see how many Investments houses get axed by Gworza who according to you did not have the authority all those while. I tell you authoritatively that the management of a lot of investment houses in Nigeria are grossly mismanaging investors funds, and petitions upon petitions are gathering dust in SEC currently. I don't want people to lose confidence totally, else I would have sited over 50 cases that I am directly involved in. I just hope for Nigeria's sake that you are right about our DG. Cheers! |
ElFenomeno1:So you are saying Mounir did not know about BGL all this while? Are you aware that he joined the SEC working directly with the then-Director General before heading the Commission’s Investment Division in 1999 ? |
ElFenomeno1:Suit yourself bro. ![]() |
feelamong:True you saying its not easy to do your job in this clime, but Is that enough reason to not do your job? I mean how do we grow? If you cant stand the heat, leave the kitchen! Okumagba wanted Gwarzo's seat! He sent his name along with two other names from CIS to the presidency for consideration as the DG of SEC. This drew the ire of Gwarzo who has been covering his dirty arse all this while. |
ElFenomeno1:Its vendetta bro. Things like this ought to have been nipped in the bud if the regulatory authorities are awake to there duties. Tell me why the DG of SEC for the past 5,6 years should not go to jail for negligence in this case? Why did Mounir Gwarzo suddenly wake up to his duties or, has he not been acting for some time now? I tell you as a person with privileged information, the regulators of different sectors of the economy in Nigeria are the major cause of decay. So before you start giving credit to people, think critically and ask yourself, why now! |
kelechiodo:Peter Obi fire! Don't trivialize this bro. |
ElFenomeno1:Their is no better way of protect the investor's funds in this case than this. Infact, this is coming too late. They would have mitigated a lot of rot had this come 3years ago! But then, this is been done for personal reasons. |
