Business / Re: Appeal Court Orders CBN To Account For Cecilia Ibru’s Assets by pro2010: 10:04pm On May 16, 2017

This is the first time someone will say not just what they know but it is. People don't know the facts. I laugh when I see people saying things without digging deep. Sanusi has a serious case to answer. The Genesis of this case was the return money sanusi had from public offering of oceanic bank and that of intercontinental bank was their refusal to buy Société Générale bank. Sanusi was brought in to carry out the assignments. Which he did by placing most of the non executive directors of fbn like John Aboh and the rest as managing director of the so called troubled banks.

All you conspiracy theorist can come up with all your fathom unsubstantiated theories. One thing remains valid, the bank CEO's were rogues, broke ethical standards and stole immensely from the banks. This alone is enough for them to rot in jail.

What temperate region are you talking about exactly? Are you trying to hype Sanusi for his actions?

Like I said earlier, what held him from nailing Akingbola and Co? Hope you knew how Akingbola case ended

Do I have to spell everything out for you? How can you get conviction for a big criminal like Akingbola from a messed up system like Nigeria? Temperate region is where the snow falls, it conotes developed societies. I don't know or did not say that Sanusi is a saint, but anybody that thinks Cecilia, Akingbola and co should not be in jail for their handling of the banks, is either very naive(has no knowledge about the case) or very corrupt!

True some banks broke some rules. However that doesn't mean we cut off the nose to spite the face. I worked closely with some of big names then. Soludo had come up with a way to deal with the problem. After he left, the CBN action was overboard. To justify it. They had to crucify some people and lay out all kinds of reasons like you mentioned. But the fact is the under lining issues that were not mentioned was the biggest catalyst

I worked in financial services for a while myself and those bank chiefs should still be in jail! Maybe a different approach should have been taken to save the banks and reduce investors losses...but the bank chiefs should have been sent to jail forever!

"Son of the emirate" may work more in government. Because it could not help sanusi when elumelu decided he had to leave UBA. At that time the stakes Aig. Elumelu and Co had in the industry was more than Sanusi had. In banking real hard cash comes before influence.

Wrong! In Nigeria, the strongest factor considered priotized in ANY power equation is political tires! Dont get it twisted!

Landlord nobody is painting anything. If you think you have a point please air it and educate us. That's the whole essence of this forum.

Hope you were aware Aig was a management staff in GTB before leaving to form Access bank, whereas Wigwe was the brain behind Access. Please were was Sanusi or rather, who was Sanusi during that time?

Thats the point I am trying to make exactly! Sanusi is is a quintessential epitome of privilege, his ties to the Kano emirates makes the likes of Aimokuede and Wigwe just another one of the Nigerian masses relative to him. There is no way Sanusi was their stooge!
Business / Re: Appeal Court Orders CBN To Account For Cecilia Ibru’s Assets by pro2010: 5:59pm On May 16, 2017
aolawale025:

When Aig and Wigwe were EDs, Sanusi was a GM at UBA. After he left UBA he joined FBN and became ED, months later he became MD and shortly after CBN governor.

Interesting details, it does not however prove your claim. Sanusi's family name is enough to open any door in Nigeria, the Aig's and Wigwes dont even enjoy the kind of influence/protection that comes with been a son of the Emirate, so his name got him covered. That aside, Oceanic bank and many other banks broke virtually every ethical rule of banking, from insider borrowing, manipulation of bank stocks to borrowing heavily from interbank lending window to offset operational cost. Say something else and I would agree with you, but Cecilia Ibru, Akingola and Atuche them were all crooks that had to go down. If you say they were not the only ones, then that makes sense.

Bros you are right. Aig and Wigwe Used Sanusi to set up Akingbola. The point is that Tony frustrated Sanusi out of UBA. so Sanusi wanted to pay him and Jim Ovia back. Its unfortunate Cecilia was the scapegoat. As for doz access bank guys that bought over intercontinental even though they were owing him, i dont know what to say

You guys are conjuring some fictional pictures to make yourselves happy. Who is Aig and Wigwe to influence Sanusi? Were does the power configuration come from?

Buhari is probably too old and dull to understand that he is going to self destruct if things continue this way, how can an agency under his supervision not get clearance from him on his nominee before sending cooked up shit to the Assembly of criminals? Is the Dss power tussling with him? What a disappointment Buhari is.

They died of food.poisoning...not that they were poisoned as you watch on home videos.

The guy is a friend of mine...a very close friend of my cousin through whom I knew him for about 15 years now. He is from Ufuma in Anambra.
This unfortunate incidence happened in Lagos when him and his mum went to visit their sister who is married and based there. The three of them went out one evening to have a good time at a joint were they had drinks and grill (Suya), after leaving the place the trio started having severe stomach upset, this would later kill the boy and his mum but their sister survived after been unconscious for some days. Whatever killed them was from the meat..but people are saying different things (too much home video) because the sisters husband is super wealthy.
This is a very big tragedy as the guy is in his prime and was just about to open his business in Abuja, infact he has already paid the rent and furnished the place ...his senior sister is very wealthy thanks to her husband and she has been very benevolent to him.
Whenever I go home for xmas I always drive in company of my cousin to their giant mansion in Ufuma...he also calls on us always when we are home. Its a big loss. Incidentally, his father was also burried last year and that was the last time I saw and would see Ebuka...i take solace in the fact that we had a good last time at least, as we drank to stupor and crashed my cousins dads new Prado (which we borrowed for show) as a result. We were hoping to grove once am in the country...but not with him again.
Adieu Ebuka but you no do well oh..who go chop all your sister plenty money?

You are only foolishly supporting corruption because of useless political sentiments.

Can you list The senators you call thieves and their corresponding crimes and tell me it wouldn't be just an allegation.

Don't you see, you've been programmed to dismiss the allegations against Magu, while you hold unto your stance that every senator is a thief.

doesn't it sound silly?

Must it be Magu to occupy that position? Is he the only one qualified for it? are you saying he shouldn't clear his name? are you saying we should all move on, simply because he is Magu? or simply because You love him? must corruption be subject to your own definition?

I think you are the one smoking crack.

For emphasis, Itse Sagay is being prejudiced by running to the media to say accused judges should step aside fro perception reasons and then come again and say Magu MUST be EFCC chairman without considering perception too.

For your information, It is against the spirit of the constitution should buhari insist on Magu having being rejected by the senate. If the constitution wanted the president to take a unilateral decision it wouldn't state that Magu's appointment will be subject to confirmation by the senate.

Please let's stop this hypocrisy.

Stupid man the people know the thieves in their mist, for the fact that you say the senate is clean manifest how corrupt you are.

The same man says accused Magu shouldn't step aside.

What ever you guys smoke in Nigeria this days is really brain damaging. Why do people reason like 2year old kids? Whoever that thinks that Magu's non-confirmation was due to some fathom security report that the President was not privy to is brain dead. The security at the churches and around the god of men is likened to what you find in government houses today. The supposed men of God are being guided with heavy security and are cruising around in armored vehicles while they ask their members to protect themselves with the blood of Jesus. (Anonymous 2016)

one wonders if the blood of Jesus cannot also cover the men of God?

Mr. Yam farmer try and do some thinking!

I don't how old you are but if you have been around for sometime, you would have understood.

Every government in Nigeria since independence has gone to town with one hue or another cry of fighting corruption.

We all know what happened when they left office. Obasanjo was making out as one sanctimonious trustee of Nigeria's commonwealth but his noises belied one of the greatest avalanches of corruption this country will ever see.

Let Buhari leave office today and another succeeding government will readily open a can of worms over Buhari's activities.

You are probably very old and can barely see or is that you just can not comprehend simple questions?

How will this country forge ahead as a united in the future when APC leaves office tomorrow and another party comes to power.

Does the ignorant crowd willing Buhari to continue with tyranny and repression consider that should the opposition win power in the nearest future, Nigeria will most likely become history since there would be retaliation from the victims of the current persecution?

So you suggest we dash them the yams they have stolen and go back to our farms and cultivate fresh yams so that they wouldn't retaliate in future?

Why abandon the topic under discussion? And to even clear your wrong assumption of the 2016 budget. The budget for the Presidency actually increased significantly in comparison to the preceeding administration's budget. It increased from #20,085,865,120 to #39,124,978,811. (figures are directly from site of budget office of the federation) and so, it will sound absurd for anybody to adjudge the current government as far as this budget is concerned of being fiscally responsible.

You just wasted your time committing ad hominem fallacy.

You are talking about national embarassment right? I can tell you 1001 reasons why you should be very ashamed to be a Nigerian already and missing budget is a non-issue when Juxtaposed with these reasons.
