you actuall sound like someone afraid election will not hold from everything you have seen around you but desperately trying to see if you can change peoples mind about it. Im neutral, but this Biafran thing has assumed the dimension of a revolution and im afraid your voice can do nothing. Even prominent people are helpless, let alone you who have time on Nairaland

I see more youths in other sections of the country rising up to say no election until Nigeria is made to work. Mark my words

PoliticsRe: What did Igbo Do With The 3 Year Allocation Awolowo Paid Into Zik's Account by prodigy24: 3:06pm On Jul 12, 2017
OAFMods:
We have all read about how Yoruba are the draw back holding Igbo from their Biafra Utopia. I have read from Igbo countless times how Awolowo only gave them 20 pounds from the billion they saved before the war.

I have read about the claims of marginalization by the Igbo etc. What I just discovered is that the three year allocation of the Igbo state was paid by this same Awolowo who the Igbo love to demonize even without fec approval. Why he did this is a topic for another day.

What is amiss is that ever since I have been reading through journals detailing the atrocities claims n counter claims of the Biafran and Nigerian army I have never come across where it is was stated by any Igbo that Awolowo took such drastic action to save millions of improvised Igbo not even from Adichie.

Now my question is judging from the way so many Igbo have been demonizing Awolowo can any Igbo, Ipob whoever that as the knowledge tell us what they did with three year allocation? We know salaries were not paid as no services were rendered so what exactly swallowed the allocation?

I must say it is understandable that the Igbo have the penchant of absolving their leaders of blames and failures even when it is glaring but surely someone need to point out what exactly was achieved with 3 years allocation. Lagosian can attest to what Fashola achieved after Yardua paid the allocation accruing to Lagos after the siege from Obasanjo. So what did Igbo achieve which three years federal allocation and who should take the credit for this messianic act?
Everything Afonja is built on lies, from the most sophisticated, to most educated to most accommodated, now see your life. You want struggling to lie your way to absorbing Awolowo from his criminal record.

Emotional rants and nothing else. Majority of Igbo's withdrew their money long before relocating to Biafra. They left Nigeria to form a new country without planning to come back, so, what's the logic in leaving their money behind in Nigerian banks? Even at that, who stopped IBO people who owns money in Nigerian banks from withdrawing all their money after the civil war? The answer is, nobody.

Accepted that some IBO's left money behind and couldn't present documents to back up their claim, in that situation, what exactly do you want the banks to do? Entertain the claims of every tom dick and harry? I have accounts with UBA and Zenith, if I forget my account number and lose all records relating to those accounts, will Elumelu and Jim Ovia give me back my money? The E20 policy was a magnanimous gesture that the government at that time should not have adopted IMO. It should have been strictly no records, no money. BTW, majority of IBO's then banked with ADB and cooperative bank. Why did these two banks refused to give you guys your money?

Again, it is unfortunate that you IBO's always blame the Yoruba's for your misfortune. Awolowo in is magnanimity and desire to see the IBO nation quickly reintegrated back into Nigeria gave the government of the south east full allocation of three years without the approval of FEC and recapitalised the two IBO banks, ADB and cooperative bank. He also fully implemented the E20 policy. What else do you want him to do?

On the three RRR's, can you guys provide evidence that the south east was exempted from its implementation? I am really curious to see your proof.

And please, don't bring America and Japan into the discussion. America couldn't have morally left Japan alone after dropping atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Up till today, they still owe Japan for that heinous crime again humanity.
You are making baseless claim With no single empirical evidence, that why people brand you afonja, how did you come up with "majority" of Igbo withdrew their money? Then on the 20 pounds, you have nothing to defend here,Awolowo supervised the event and the program that gave 20 pounds to anyone that has money in bank that is our story it is emotional to you,but very real to me, at this point I careless about what you think of it. I'm only working hard to ensure my children will not live in same pool country. I will not go further in responding your baseless argument, because it is worthless and useless, you guys have mastered the art of manipulation and distortion. We will not give you the room to exercise it.

BLEEDING HEART

Can you remember when Peter Obi wanted to vie for governorship? Nobody knew him. He had never held any political position. He was a virgin as far as Anambra State politics was concerned.

But for the first time, the Anambra electorate listened.

They listened to his message of liberation from the curse of "suffering in the midst of plenty."

Obi's message was simple, "Are we cursed or are we the cause?"

And NdiAnambra listened. They listened from their heart. They could feel his sincerity. And they followed their heart.

They took a chance on Peter Obi, and voted from their heart.

And was Anambra State disappointed?

Nay

On the contrary, Anambra State came on the map. It became the Light of the Nation in word and in deed.

Her resources were judiciously managed and astutely invested.

The state left the debtors list and by the time Peter Obi was leaving office, the state had bought bonds from up to 5 other states.

It is another electoral year. The political atmosphere in Anambra State is saturated with several voices clamouring for the people's vote.

Amidst all these, a political virgin is here again.

Peter Obi heard the voice of God but did not interpret it aright.

GODWIN CHUKWUNAENYE EZEEMO was supposed to be his successor, but he chose Obiano and offered EZEEMO deputy which was rejected.

Ezeemo knew the vision God gave him. It was clear that the anointing was him. But God is no man. He allowed this to happen.

He allowed Saul to take the throne that David may complete his training in the wilderness.

The time is nigh. David is ready.

O people of God

O Anambra people

Behold the chosen David of our time.

GODWIN CHUKWUNAENYE EZEEMO

Last of 7 children, Ezeemo's story is like that of King David of the Bible.

What is his message; ANAMBRA CAN BE BETTER

He will prioritise the priority needs of majority of NdiAnambra

Free education from Primary 1- JS 3

State owned power generating plants

Standard access roads in every nook and cranny

A standard Stadium per local government in the 21 local governments

EZEEMO has character

EZEEMO has a strong will power

It is said that whoever has strong will power, God helps him

Let us listen to our hearts as we did during Peter Obi's time

Let us vote from our heart like we did with Peter Obi.

Kudos to the late sage for this very kind gesture. Only very few leaders would have done something as generous as this. Today, nobody talks about this good deed. All they talk about is that he betrayed a Biafra he never subscribed to. Yoruba's should learn from the treatment people like Awolowo, Soyinka, Banjo etc got in the hands of ibos. No matter our good deeds towards them, they will always pay back with hatred and envy.
Some of your are brazen ignorant or pure tribalist. let me tell you, in japan, after the war, America spent so much money in rebuilding the japan, and they are still grateful for that till today. what did Nigeria do to the Eastern region after the war aside niger bridge? they killed many development projects like PRODA, they stopped technical department at UNN. What happened to the RRR that was executed in the southwest, the massive aerial bombardment that was carried out on innocent citizens, what measure did FG put in place like what we currently have in the self inflicted northeast? Honestly i feel yoruba has a date with igbo people, There is something greatly amiss in the psyche of an average yoruba man on ndi igbo.. Everybody in my family, plux extended families contributed moneis to a single man that has bank account, and he returned with only 20pounds, my dad told me that his own money alone was over 10000pounds, but he never got any kobo, because 20pounds can not be shared, it was like 20naira. How do you share a single note currency? what you don't know is that uneasy lies the head that wears the crown, we experienced the war, we know how we went through it. it will be very abnormal, unacceptable for you to tell us our story. The war was carried out on us and on our land, the rapes and atrocities were done in our land. Reading the op, validates the Biafra call, because these people are still evil. They do not wish anything good to us.But continue, nothing lasts forever, there was a time, Roma reigned, Greeks reigned, british reigned, now America is reigning, while China is stepping up. We will never forget. i have said it before , if Nnamdi kanu fails,it is just a postponement of the burial date of Nigeria.I and many people like me will never fail,

Other governors except Dr. Chris Ngige were not versed in abstruse knowledge of public administration. Latin apothegm has it that one can never give what he doesn't have. Sadly only very few people know what Rural Development is all about. Since 2006 APGA government in Anambra state stopped the march on rural development by shamelessly hijacking local government councils statutory allocations and seized viable sources o internally generated revenues (IGR). The Nigerian Constitution clearly stipulated that local government councils as 3th Tier of government is specifically meant for the development of rural communities. Hence the monthly statutory allocations and IGR.

It's a matter of common sense to conclude that no amount of "monumental achievements of Peter Obi and Willie Obiano" in the 178 communities in Anambra state that can be compared with a normal situation ( like Enugu and Ebonyi states where past and present governors were not greedy and never tampered with local government funds) where local government councils use their statutory sources of revenues to develop basic infrastructural facilities and amenities in the 178 communities. The so-called N20 million community chose your projects CANNOT compensate for the hijacking of local government revenues; this remains a secret people should know. Time of mass ignorance has gone; its plain stupidity to believe that you can bamboozle everybody by inane propaganda.

Godwin Ezeemo is the only governorship hopeful Anambra could hold on to. The taste of the pudding is in the eating as English word says. He is an idea wealthy sombody who has relocated his massive wealth from overseas to the state and afforded army of unemployed and under-employed people to be earning a living.
