TV/MoviesRe: Who Is To Blame For The Piracy Of Half Of A Yellow Sun? by prof800(m): 11:36am On Jul 23, 2014
speedyboi: Okay, you wan start blaming again? Continue! No problem!
The filmmakers are solely to blame for their success or their woes! The issues with Nigerians is we always fight the wrong cause, then end up getting no results. Same way we like blaming leaders for corruption (like no leader around the world won't love to be corrupt), instead of fighting the system that aids corruption (and what's the system made up of? The CITIZENS). The problem of Nollywood has never been, is not and will never be piracy! Lonzo Nzekwe once said in an interview; "how can anybody combat piracy, when big hollywood studios still haven't figured it out". Kunle Afolayan has never listed Piracy as Nollywood's problem. He has often said lack of proper distribution structure is Nollywood's biggest problem. These are professionals who knows what's what. Piracy business is a thriving sector in every country. But if you have good business plan, it shouldn't stop you from making your profit.
HOAYS had one of the worst distribution strategy have ever seen anywhere! Just goes to prove the saying: "people who own caps do not have heads, while those who have heads do not own caps". How can a film with so much popularity be so clueless?
1. Lemme start with the ban; see publicity on a platter of gold and they messed it up! Even Chineze Anyaene said it that it was a good publicity and that they should solve it on time before it gets cold. Instead of these guys to yank out the scenes fast and get the thing out latest by May, they were busy writing 'counter-articles' on newspapers to discredit censors board. And chimamanda wey done get her own money dey decide for them. They failed to realize that at the end of the day, no one loses but them. Not censors board, not Chimamanda. Them come agree to their terms when people already got tired of waiting and the film already got pirated. Smh, i'm so damn sure that film would've made atleast $3 million in Nigeria, if it was released in May! Some people were even ready to travel from their cities to cities with cinemas just to see hoays. They just effed up and dragged things unnecessarily.
2. Why start online streaming when you know you ain't done with theatrical screening? I even read it'd be released on dvd (i guess this is because pirated version is already selling), when you are not done with cinema releases? For Nigeria? Na which kind business be this one?
The financier, Yewande Sadiku isn't experienced in the Nigerian film business and it is so evident in this project. Movie world isn't about just splashing hollywood faces, hiring hollywood producers, and associating a british production company, You need to understand how your own market works. Instead of her to consult gurus in the 'business' like kunle and Obi, she was busy saying what is Nollywood and what is not, when she was even one of the beneficiaries of the government intervention fund. And claiming all things first. Smh.
So now they got just 1 million+ from their "target market"? Interesting grin. This is how a confused project ends up.
GBAM!!!

So on point.

...but let's see what will happen after the August 1 premiere.

Pose # 4: Noose pose or pasasana:

https://st1.thehealthsite.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/Pasasana-196x300.jpg
Highly beneficial for menstrual discomfort, sciatica, mild back, shoulder and neck pain, pasasna is also known as the noose pose for the type of twist one is in while doing this pose. The aasana stretches the muscles of the back, ankles and groin. It stimulates the uterus and improves digestion and beats constipation. Moreover it helps relieve lower back pain that so many of us experience during our periods.

Steps to do this pose: Start by standing tall, with your hands in the namaste position.
Keep your feet together with your back straight.
Now bend your knees and squat such that your buttocks are resting on your calves.
Exhale and stretch your right hand over your left knee such that your forearm passes over your shin.
This will cause your back to twist. Take your free hand behind your back and clasp the other hand.
Either you could interlock the fingers of both your hands or hold the wrist of either hand.
Hold this position for ten to fifteen minutes while breathing gently.
To get out of the pose, release one hand and slowly twist out of the position.

Tip: Do not do this pose is you suffer from a knee, back or neck injury.

GOODLUCK LADIES... NO KNOWLEDGE IS LOST! smiley

You can practise these positions during 'early morning sun':

Pose # 2: Fish pose or matsyasana:

https://st1.thehealthsite.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/matsyasana-300x121.jpg

https://www.yogatreesf.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/IMG_5494-Edit.jpg

This pose, just like the dhanurasana, is great to beat fatigue, menstrual pain, anxiety etc. But the best part about this pose is that it gives you that natural glow. It also stretches out the muscles of the back, neck, chest and legs giving you instant relief from muscle aches and pains associated with menstruation. This pose helps stimulate the organs of the stomach and abdomen, fighting indigestion, gas and that feeling of bloating.

Steps to do this aasana: Lie flat on the floor with your knees bent and your feet flat on the floor.
Now straighten your legs, place your arms on either side.
Now raise your hips, one side at a time and place your hands under each hip.
Bend your elbows and push your upper body off the floor, remember to exhale as you do this.
Only raise your chest, and tilt your head backwards.
Hold this pose for five counts and inhale as you rest your back back on the floor.

Tip: If you suffer from high blood pressure or have neck/back pain, avoid doing this pose.

Pose # 3: Camel pose or ustrasana:
https://st1.thehealthsite.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/Ustrasana_-_Camel_Pose-200x300.jpg
Especialy good to treat respiratory ailments, mild backaches, fatigue and anxiety, the camel pose is perfect to relieve menstrual discomfort. Just like the bow pose this aasana also stretches the front of the body, ankles, thighs, groin, abdomen and chest. It stimulates the abdominal organs, increasing the blood flow to the uterus helping it heal faster. It also relieves back ache and helps your body relax.
Steps to do this pose:
Kneel on your yoga mat and press your shin onto the floor, such that it is flat against the mat.
Now place your hands on either sides of your pelvis, with your fingers pointing downwards.
Make sure your palms are resting on the top of your hip bone.
This will help support your back when you bend backwards.
Next, push your tail bone downwards and forwards while keeping your upper body upright.
Inhale and tilt your head back, with your chin pointing to the sky.
Gently lean back forming a inward arch in your back.
Now place your palms on the soles of your feet for added support. You should feel a stretch right from your chin down to your belly or groin.
Hold this pose for fifteen to twenty seconds, exhale and come back to your original position.

Tip: Do not do this pose if you have neck of back pain, high blood pressure or suffer from migraines.

HealthHow To Alleviate Menstrual Cramps With Yoga Exercises [PICTURES And VIDEO] by prof800(op):
There are many Yoga poses/exercises to ease menstrual pains. A lady just has to know her yoga asana.

---It is high time you went back to practicing Yoga exercises. (I mean EXERCISE only).

I'm still trying to find a link to our original yoga thread.; sad

Okay!

As we all know, Menstrual Periods brings with it fatigue, PAIN, irritability and not to mention discomfort.
It is also sometimes preceded by PMS.
(You can beat PMS with these yoga tips below!)

https://cdn-media.bethenny.com/2013/04/17/yoga-poses-for-pms-2.jpgKristin's pose: remember to relax and control your breathing using the 'Ujjayi breath' or 'ocean breath'.

PMS: Post Menstrual Syndrome.
Ocean breath: Breathe in through your nostrils, suspend then breathe out through your mouth (basically)

INTRODUCTION
There are several ways to beat the pain associated with Menstrual periods.
But instead of reaching for those painkillers, try a more natural method to beat those period blues.
Here are four yoga poses described by Pavitra Sampath, that can help reduce the pain, make you more calm and beat all the other discomfort associated with that time of the month.
Not to mention it is a great way to reduce the symptoms of your next period without taking drugs.!

Pose #1: Bow pose or dhanurasana:
https://st1.thehealthsite.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/dhanurasana1-300x156.jpg

https://www.a2zyoga.com/img/poses/dhanurasana.jpg
Okay, this is rather common but...
This pose is excellent to beat constipation and respiratory ailments.
Moreover it helps relieve backache, fatigue, anxiety and most importantly menstrual discomfort. The aasana, distinctly bow like in structure, stretches the entire front of the body and gives that extra stretch to your ankles, thighs, groin, abdomen, chest, throat and the muscles of your buttocks. It also helps improve posture, thereby beating lower back pain and strengthens the back muscles. Another added advantage is that since the pose causes you to put all your weight on your navel, it stimulates the organs of the abdomen. This stimulation helps ease cramps and regulate the flow of blood to and from the uterus – relieving the pain and bloating feeling one normally feels during this time.
LADIES COMMON, THIS IS SOMETHING YOU CAN DO!!!

Steps to do this pose: Lie on your stomach on a yoga mat, keep your feet hip width apart and place your arms by your side. Now bend your knees and stretch out your hand to hold your ankles. Now, breathe in and raise your body from the front, such that your chest is off the ground. At the same time lift your thighs off the ground as well. Try to keep your body and breathing stable. Hold this pose for fifteen to twenty seconds before returning to your original position. Remember to exhale when you release your ankles. This is a relaxing pose, so just enjoy the stretch and do not over do it.
Tip: Do not perform this pose if you have a neck or back injury, are pregnant, have had recent abdominal surgery or have high blood pressure.

Mitsurugi: That's why I am planning to shoot all my movies in the South West or South South. I schooled @UNEC and because of such nonsense at NAIKO HOTELS (The AGN HQ) or MACDAVOS, Enugu I was forced as a student to register with the tidy sum of N10,000 with the AGN headed by the late Pete Eneh and Steve Ajebo (that guy was nasty, same as all them actors always pretending... all they did was drink and smoke all day) and I never even got a role despite the fact that I spoke better English (was a Law student) than them all, intepreted the cameo roles satisfactorily and had previous stage and TV experience (it was worse considering the farce of an audition Charles Inojie orchestrated)... it was just a cabal thing, so I was later made to understand. If you tried to act or even shoot on the streets without being a member of their redundant posses, you are harassed and even assaulted by their militant wing aptly tagged "TASKFORCE". I just gave up went back to school. I now act as a Police Officer on Tinsel, and I am concluding plans to begin the shoot of my new movie despite the fact that I am no longer a member of the AGN or DGN. If I have to shoot in the East, I have a remedy, allow the TASKFORCE mess up and then simply sue the AGN and make three times more. AGN is just an idiotic organisation that has no idea what it was meant to do ab initio and in the East, they are just as clueless as they come. Check it... most mediocre Nollywood films are shot in the East and that is where you will find talentless, fading and dying actors who keep getting roles; I stand to be corrected. Oh well... grin
Very well said.

I'm sorry I just had to quote all this.
