Religion / Re: Jehovah's Witnesses Are The Only True Follower Of Christ:::**see Proof**:: by proflangdon(m): 6:25pm On Dec 10, 2013
1. Jehovah Witnesses are not the only ones that evangelise. Because they move from door to door doesn't make them the only 'true' believers. You can evangelise in your office, school, street, etc and you're still a follower of Christ.
2. Pagan holidays. The Lord's Chosen don't even support the celebration of birthdays. I don't see Christmas as a pagan holiday (and, believe me, I know the origin). I simply see it as a period when believers look at the birth of Christ, celebrate it and just think about that miraculous birth. Celebrating a holiday (e.g. Independence Day) doesn't make you an unbeliever.
3. Tithes and offerings. Ah! That's a touchy topic. Gal. 6:7 says you reap what you sow. When you give, you receive. Simple! When you don't give, you can't receive. Payment of tithes or non-payment of tithes doesn't make you a believer.
4. Segregation of members? I know that the Jehovah Witnesses don't have a head (i.e. G.O., Pope, General Superintendent, etc.) but Apostle Paul in Eph. 4:11-12 wrote..
"And He gave some, apostles, and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ [KJV]" (I'm sorry that I couldn't get your 'own' Bible Version).
Many churches use this form of hierarchy (which is actually Biblical). I know some denominations use Bishops, Reverends, etc. But that is what men just say with their mouths. To GOD, we're all the same..
So, your stand isn't Biblical at all (not that I'm saying that mine is completely Biblical). But if you to call someone a true believer, you don't just look at things merely on the surface. No one has the right to declare a man saved except GOD. (And I pray that He opens your eyes to know that Jesus is GOD and that you stop misquoting Col. 1:15). GOD bless you!

Education / Re: Effect Of This ASUU Strike On Students And Lecturers by proflangdon(m): 12:14am On Oct 23, 2013
Nice one.. but from what I see, the lecturers don't really lose. The students' losses are too much.. a friend of mine got a scholarship to do his Masters in England. Application does next month and he has not even graduated yet..
The students are the real losers here..

alienware: It was all over the news yesterday that the star actor jim iyke was delivered from demonic oppression, which has prevented the guy from loving a particular woman and committing fully to any relationship. According to eyewitness and video's posted on youtube .The demon in him said " i don't want him to get married" ask yourself, is there anything special about getting married ? Was jesus christ married when he was on planet earth ? Christ was about 42 years when he was cruxified, yet he remained single.

Christ was 42?? shocked

JAMBITES, please take your time to read this info from a reliable source. You can check it up by yourself later..

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) says it has concluded the first round of admissions into degree awarding institutions.
A statement from the board on Thursday said the board was determined to ensure compliance with 2013/2014 admission calendar.
``Candidates who made degree awarding institutions as their first choices or most preferred are enjoined to check the board’s Website - www.jamb.org.ng and print their admission letters,’’ the statement said.
It said the admissions were done from Aug. 20 to Aug. 23 at a technical committee meeting on admissions into degree awarding institutions for 2013/2014 academic session in Uyo, Akwa Ibom.
Signed by the board’s Head of Public Relations, Mr Fabian Benjamin, it said 109 degree awarding institutions attended the meeting while only 76 of them submitted lists of admitted candidates to the board.
According to the statement, the second round of admissions will be conducted from Sept. 23 to Sept. 27 at Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo, for admissions into polytechnics, monotechnics, colleges of education and innovative enterprises institutions.
It further said that all admissions into the nation’s tertiary institutions were expected to close by October, stressing that the admissions were in compliance with the approved criteria.

mayorall:

Am not defending those who cheated I̶̲̥̅̊n̶̲̥̅̊ the exam but the innocent ones who were given incomplete questions...what will Jamb do about them??

In certain centers, I believe the Invigilators/Supervisors forwarded a report along with the answer sheets, informing the ogas at the top about certain errors (alongside the affected candidates' number). This happened in Ogun State where candidates had to write the exams without Biometric Verification. They forwarded a report with the registration numbers of all those affected. All iz well!

I've read this news on several websites. All those that are saying that JAMB did not store the Paper Type in their database are guilty of exam malpractice!! If you didn't do it, why should you be scared??..
Imagine, some are even using God's name self to defend their actions.. smh

Music/Radio / Re: Why Our Gospel Artist Ain't Recognized As Celebs* by proflangdon(m): 1:55pm On Apr 11, 2013
I know you've got your own views. I've got mine, too.
The reason why Gospel Artists aren't recognized as celebs is because they don't behave like the world.
I want you to take a look at the very popular American Gospel artists who are considered as "celebrities". I know we're not allowed to judge, but their lifestyles portray worldliness.
They dress, talk, behave, and even sing like the world before some of their songs sell.
So, my brother, as long as you're doing God's will, you'll forever be a celebrity before Christ. We don't need the world to recognize us as anything except as Ambassadors of The Most High. Bless!!

hardywaltz: Jonathan is a disgrace to the office he holds, i can just imagine Obama or Cameron kneeling before any religious leader.

Please, if you don't have anything other thing to do than to criticize a humble Christian, go and sleep!! You think Obama is a Christian?? Well, Christians don't legalize abortion; they don't support gay marriages.
Please, a man sees a solution through God and he follows that path. If you don't believe, he believes!!

Hahaha... Whenever I hear or read topics/threads like this, I really laugh.

Let me point out one thing to you... A person, no matter who you are, cannot and will never bring any topic from the Bible and try to understand it if you don't understand God.

I know alot of people will argue otherwise. I know alot of Bible verses that have been twisted by alot of people today to suit their thinking.

Even "The Church" are in confusion about many Bible verses. Think I'm lying?

Why did the Catholic church and the Reformists disagree on Justification & Sanctification?? Well, that's another topic.

The simple thing I'm trying to bring out is this...

"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness." (2nd Tim. 3:16)

Remember, "all scripture," not a part of the scripture.
Just apply wisdom whenever you're teaching a child... remember, a child will still become a man and those verses that you think are wrong will become necessary.

So, yes, children should be taught The Bible. When I was little, my teacher never taught me about sex, or violence, or any of those things you mentioned.
Before you say or do anything, think. What you say doesn't matter... God knows why He gave those laws or why He did what He did.

Remember, always apply wisdom.

Peace
Religion / Re: 'jesus And Islam' According To The Bible- Be The Judge by proflangdon(m): 1:31pm On Aug 16, 2012
I've read all you've written and do you know what I think?

That you, all of you, don't have anything important to do.

As Christians, you are to propagate the Gospel of Jesus (Acts 1:cool, not to engage in senseless quarrels.

"Don’t have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels." (2nd Tim. 2:23)

Learn to apply wisdom in everything. No matter what you say, Muslims will never agree that Jesus died.
There's no point in arguing. Try to show them The Light; you can't force them, just help them.

Peace.

Politics / Re: Why Nigerians Ridicule Nigeria by proflangdon(m): 4:06pm On Aug 15, 2012
Hmmm... There are many reasons why Nigerians ridicule Nigeria.

No matter what anyone says, I believe that one of the main reasons is because of the leaders. Okay, let's take a look at the just concluded London Olympics. Most people shout that, "Nigerian athletes are useless! Nigeria is a shame!"

Now, I want you to check something. During our Olympics, did you see the son or daughter of any well-acclaimed "big man" in our country sweating to make us proud? Did you see the child of any politician there? Have they finished swimming in their luxurious pools or have they finished throwing parties that cost millions?

I watched the Olympic Games and, I must confess, the athletes tried alot. In the track events, boxing, table tennis, weight lifting, Nigerian athletes really tried.
The big men in this country are the ones in charge of building sporting centers in this country. But, instead, they pocket the money for their own personal use.

I saw alot of games that I've never seen before, and I asked myself, "Why didn't Nigeria qualify for these games?"
The answer is clear: we don't have sporting facilities in the country!! We don't even have standard football stadia in this country!! Those that are ridiculing Nigeria with respect to the just concluded Olympic Games should check again. If given the chance, without the proper facilities, training, and preparation, would you have won any medal for our country
