Any body that thinks ADP,PDP,SDP,NRC would come to power in Lagos state and abandon an easy source of money-property taxes.is either naive or does not know what governance.

Nigerians welcome to the real world of TAXES AND BILLS

The taxman can raise any assessment he deems reasonable within the ambit of the law but is left for the taxpayer to prove otherwise.get an accredited estate valuer to do an actual valuation and write back to the tax authorities demanding amendment and pay what you deem fair based on the new valuation.

If you do not respond and you are taken to the tax tribunal, publishing your objection on social media is not defence.

And note that as the case progressess through the law courts,a bond of the amount in dispute would be demanded from you.object today and leave social media alone.

Even on google adsense payment page, there is a disclaimer that all local VAT or applicable taxes are your responsibility.please and abeg FIRS ia amassing so much information from your bank statements, land documents, over hundreds of countries esp europe and US.just go and get a tax adviser or consultant to go through your records,so that you cann declare thru VAIDS esp. if you.made some serious dough.they would definitely send a tax notice to you

On the contrary, both Federal and state collect taxes in Nigeria
Federal collect VAT,CORPORATE INCOME TAX,EDUCATION TAX,NATIONAL INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AND DEV.AGENCY LEVY ETC

States collect consumption tax so called sales tax from hotel, event centres, restaurants, personal income tax, business registration and renewal

Lga collect property ,signage etc.but some state assembly legislated that these be collected centrally and shared accordingly.

If you drop your email I can send you a copy of the approved taxes and levies act 2015 signed of by ngozi iweala before she left

Do NGOs pay tax? They'll have to be registered as Not for Profit blog with NIRA.
If you are not generating income and you are a registered company then tell your auditor to prepare a statement of affair and file same with the FIRs close to you.in addition, for a registered company or enterprise with no income you are expected to file a NIL VAT return with the FIRS monthly.

Duly registered NGO or churches with FIRS do not pay income tax however if they engage contractors or service provider like construction companies or legal firm etc, they are expected to withhold tax and remit in the name of the contractor.however, the contractor would not VAT his invoice.

Pay Tax for WHAT exactly?
I am not even a blogger but I am aware that the GENERAL set rule is :

If your business has a physical location in a state that collects sales tax, you are generally required to collect and pay sales tax on online sales. If you do not have a physical location, you are normally not required to collect sales taxes.

So what again are we talking about? I believe e-business owners should get a very good lawyer, who'd explain everything to them, even before they start business.
We do not operate sales tax in nigeria but. VAT.my guy there are ways to minimise tax agreed but dont say you do not have to pay. VAT is federally collected by FIRS and not by states you reside.a nigerian company advertises on your blog for the the nigerian market that visit your site and you say you would not pay tax on you ad revenue.even foreign companies that earn incime from nigeria, are advised by the FIRS to their agent to self account for taxes. Tax laws cannot be bypassed if you do not pay your fair share of taxes that is while they are coming thru VAIDS.Dont forget they have access to your bank statement.

ideologies:
I pay tax oo

A Nigerian firm called to advertise on my blog, when I sent them card rate, they paid less tax.

Though they don't have my Tax ID.
My guy they most likely deducted withholding tax.but paid over your VAT except it is a government agency or major oil company it would also deduct VAT.your withholding tax rate is 10% for a limited liability company or 5% if an individual or enterprise because your service is professional in nature.

Please your tax issue does not end there, you need to follow up with the company that withheld to give you an evidence of payment that you would now submit to clear your annual income tax liability whether as an induvidual or company.if the payment is not enough you pay the rest via cash

There is no way you won't pay tax, the reason why I'm not paying tax for my company is that Nigeria don't do tax return , so it is like trowing sachet water into sea

My guy Nigeria does not do tax return? My guy you are very funny and misinformed.Companies and individuals file tax returns.my guy the day you decide to get your C OF O for your properties in lagos and majority of the states you go begin vomt your personal income tax money.if you make serious money now and you wan buy asset outside nigeria from income you dey make Inside naija whether mortgage or outright purchase, esp.uk you go gat to show ur tax clearance say na legit money.as you dey grow big and you dey dodge them.na u go use your leg waka go pay when you get dealings with govt.ask lindaikeji etc

many private coy pay tax even if it is meagre. Many employees work more than 40 yrs in Nigeria government, let forget the wayo angle, some after retiring are employed as consultant or contract staff.
but for an individual to be singled out as tax compliant it is direct assessment and not pay as you earn('PAYE') that is deducted and paid by the employer whether private or govt.the reward for that goes to the employer.but direct assessment, you personally walk into the tax office and declare your income and pay the taxes.
PoliticsRe: VAIDS: FG To Name, Shame, Prosecute Tax Evaders From March 31 by profosa: 9:02am On Mar 02, 2018
Tax compliance and development are directly related .
it is painful to pay in Nigeria.tax payment encourages active participation in government.

Meanwhile Nigerians and businesses should object to this tax, charge, levy when it is been considered by state house of assemby, national assembly as a bill or amendment not when the bill has become law you start making noise on social media.

More corrupt and poor countries even in africa for example angola that was controlled by one family still pay higher taxes and are more tax compliant .the good book encourages tax payment.

How can we say we are fighting corruption in the police with a structure like this? We can't fight corruption without addressing the root cause. Over to the authorities, do the needful and your anti-corruption campaign in the police will have a smooth sail.

Tax compliance is not how much you pay but whether you are paying your fair share of taxes based on the law.of course it is personal income tax.was a name of a company mentioned.

My name is Dr Precious and am the CEO of PG HEALTHCARE NIG , when we started our business our monthly turn over was same for 8 months , for one year i was putting money into the business from my salary and was taking nothing from the business, we are 4years in the bussiness now with a monthly turn over of 800-1mil and every staff is on salary including me ..

Jumping into your company acct at every point in time to withdraw cash is as dangerous as carrying cash around ,you spend before thinking and on unnecessary things too....

my humbly advice

The important stuff is to treat your finances separately from that of the Company,if put much into your business document it and withdraw same when your business is doing.a company is different from her owner

CareerRe: How Do CEOs Pay Themselves? by profosa: 5:48pm On Feb 28, 2018
CEOs are first of all a staff,so you need an employment letter stating your gross salary and other benefits you may enjoy.so you would be placed on the staff payroll earning monthly salary.

In addition,as a CEO you are also a director of the Company and you are also expected to earn sitting allowances and director''s fee.

Finally the board of directors fixes the emolument of CEO.ensure proper documentation of board resolution on all earnings by the CEO because the taxman may come knocking.

[quote author=M7even post=65303490]Dele Aiyenugba still got it. I remember when I first watched him play, it was for Eyimba against Austin Ejide's Esperance or so in the CAF finals.. He had been brought on to replace Vincent Enyeama whom the coach knew was not good at penalty saves. Dele came in and did his thing saving 2 penalties that day, and Eyimba won the champions league...

He had been a third choice goal keeper after Enyeama and Ejide all along but I think his sojourn in the Israeli league made one forget him, as this made a spot for other local league goalies to be third choice, the likes of akpeyi, agbim and theophelius afelohki coming in.

having spent so much playing with Enyeama, I want to believe he is capable of offering something. though for him, unlike Enyeama, I fear his age factor might influence his efficiency. I hope his reflexes are still sharp because I didn't see any reflex save as such, this is something the young goalies would have in their kitty.

finally, what is the connection between these set of keepers plying their trade in Israel, I mean Enyeama to Ejide and Dele. Not until Enyeama left for France and at some point rumors of Wenger interest in him. [/quote

To the best of my knowledge dele aiyenuba is the only goalie playing regularly in any european league.i am not even sure ezenwa has played any npfl match this year.
