Haliimmaa: Hey guys, I'm currently going through the preliminary review and they keep asking for transcript. I had first submitted a student copy and they asked for my certificate which I submitted. Now, they're asking for academic transcript. Please what exact document are they looking for? When did you apply, please? |

For those of us who have applied already, what can we start doing to boost our chances, apart from learning the language? |

IBKPROFF: Hello everyone,
I hope this post finds you well. I wanted to ask if any recent first-class students, who are not on scholarships, have managed to secure an appointment through the Consular Service Portal?
I came across a post suggesting that Category A for first-class students is no longer available, but I wasn’t entirely sure, so I’m hoping someone here can confirm this.
Unfortunately, I have been placed under a 1-year waiting period, and given that my resumption is this summer, this delay is very concerning for me. I’m really hoping to find out if there’s any way to expedite the process or any similar experiences from those who’ve recently gone through the system.
Any advice or information would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance. None that I know of. I'm one myself and have been waiting for 2 months plus |

sewenbigboi: Hello here Pls I need an advice pls I got an admission with my HND for masters in uk this month And also I’m planning to apply for Germany which I haven’t yet because of IELTS exam I’m registering for IELTS this month Pls is it true that Germany schools are cheap and that I won’t spend up to the amount I’ll be spending for uk masters because it’s over 8m for schools fees alone
And is there any hope that I’ll be given admission with my HND in Germany if I apply
Pls I need urgent answer pls 🙏🙏🙏 Yes, most German schools don't charge tuition fees. However, you need to have about 21m for Blocked Account. Also, the wait time is about 2 years right now. And no, unlike the UK where you can do POF "ronse", you need to actually have the money for Germany. |

Sid57: Following the debate on BA.
And just like a previous poster mentioned, I believe both parties have a point. @hannania has been super helpful with information and as stated it's from experience. However, there may have been a change cos I was preparing my €13k to transfer once on Fintiba when I saw someone's message on the thread that we can now do half. Within 24hrs of that person's post I saw a doc for me on the app also directing me to pay half the amount. On The Fintiba app it was not possible prior to that message to edit the amount for the BA, it just had the €13k+ but after the directive the 6M amount was on there and then you can edit it if U wanna do 1yr.
Now I switched to Expatrio per Hannania's advice and after confirming Fintiba needs one to explain source of funds which will prolong the process. And when I registered on Expatrio it also allowed me do 6 months.
So while they turned people back in January for 6M funds, they may have changed the rule this March which is when the 6M funds came into play. Who knows 🤷🏾♀️ time will tell..
While I've uploaded my BA contract, my take away is to keep the balance ready in the event I am asked to make it up.
Pls make we take am easy. Nobody fit know everything. Let's share and learn from each other.
And abeg make nobody make hannania vex cos the dedication to answering questions and giving authe info is top notch 👍🏾 Thank you. Emphasis on the last sentence. She's been a godsend. |

Hannania: Yes. Its a national and immigrant Visa. So you can switch to study. Note that you'll need a new BA or SL Thank you |
Travel › Re: Migrating To Germany For Free : The Chancekarte Discussions by profsomebody(m): 11:06pm On Mar 29, 2025 |
Hannania: Heres the thing. When you upload the 6 months BA and they reject it(As they did the guy in January), they'll give you around 30 days to update it and if you don't, they'll discard your application from the portal. You'll now join the queue again. Currently the waiting time to send for preliminary review has been updated to 2 to 6 months. We all know it will get to 1yr soon.
Since someone has been rejected already, it's unwise to try the same thing, unless you have the complete 13k and you want to see if the embassy has changed their mind, while updating it if/when they eventually ask for the complete amount.
Besides, I won't advise anyone to take a 6 months chancenkarte visa. The job market is tough to get now. You need time to register in your city, get a job etc. you can't use part-time job to extend. So it's very risky. I'll rather advise folks to look for a sponsor that will issue sponsorship letter while using that €6000 to survive the job search. This is the reality. I think people are allowed to work 20 hours of Chancekarte now |
Travel › Re: Migrating To Germany For Free : The Chancekarte Discussions by profsomebody(m): 6:44am On Mar 29, 2025 |
Hannania: You're only getting an extension if you have a job that does not fall under any category of visa change. Else, you're coming back home Is it possible to switch to study in worst case? |

Thank you! I had thought about this but imagined I could also apply for studies while there to buy more time in the event I need to buy time. I believe appointments won't take a year plus over there, right? Hannania: If you don't get a job after one year, you're to comeback to Nigeria. So if you don't know German and you don't have experience, your chances of landing a role is slim. So think about this because you choose the opportunity card |
Travel › Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by profsomebody(m): 8:45pm On Mar 02, 2025 |
I hate to be a bother, but please does this imply that the opportunity card isn't quite as promising as the study route? I'm just confused because 1 year + is a long time, and I also don't want to jump into opportunity card because of it's faster timeline only to see it's not worth it. Hannania: Then just wait for the study visa |

Yes, I'm waiting to cancel and book for opportunity if my fears become reality. mysticlover: I’m hoping so too Because waiting one year won’t even cut it…but since the guy that recently got visa applied In January, we can try to be hopeful…let four full weeks pass before we conclude that there might really be a delay… And if there’s a delay, I heard you can convert an opportunity card visa into student visa…so we’ll see how it goes… |
