You still don't have an appointment? mysticlover: Is your course starting in summer semester? Also, was it through the consular portal or the old appointment website? |

Knowing that you guys are always talking over the phone, this is the only way she could safely play her game without much suspicions. From low-level men who worship anything in skirts. This is why most girls feel every man is their equal because they have men older than you worshipping them. Why else would a 300-level student be so irritated that a lecturer tapped her to get right of way when she was clearly obstructing his passage? EmperorCaesar:

So I contacted the consulate and was told to just fill the form and relax that they would still consider CAT A from the documents and etc provided. |
Travel › Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by profsomebody(m): 7:08am On Feb 12, 2025 |
Which means that they'll have to check all docs first to determine who falls where, which is way more stressful than simply asking everyone to select an option for their category whilst registering so that the system does the sorting. Well, we shall see. pineapplejuice: Yeah, my guess is that they'll use your documents to assign you to Category A. |
Travel › Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by profsomebody(m): 7:29pm On Feb 11, 2025 |
Yes, I imagined that too, but then there's no question on class of degree (remember class 1 was also Cat A) pineapplejuice: I believe either they or the system makes that distinction based on the answers in the entry form - as you are asked if you are doing a PhD, scholarship or whatever. |
Travel › Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by profsomebody(m): 2:06pm On Feb 11, 2025 |
This is what they say, but while registering, there aren't such distinctions pineapplejuice: Starting from now, all new applications are done via the consular service portal, both cat A and B. In the online application, there is the category for Category A (Study – Specific qualifications) and Category B (Application (Language Course) or Study Regular). That's why there isn't Category A or B on the appointment website anymore. |

Please, how are northerners supposed to apply now? I'm confused because when I go to the digital portal, my state is attached to Abuja and there's no online application option for states under Abuja. Also, the portal for appointments in Abuja clearly states "NO VISA", so if the intention is to get a visa, we can't apply there. I've tried to reach the Abuja office with no luck. Hannania: Jaeima is right, they do. Just try as much as possible not to laminate your original documents. That's because they're need to "feel" the seal for documents that have such. There are embassies that request that you remove the lamination. In this case, it most times leads to tear |

Thank you mysticlover: Well for category A, you upload certain documents and fill forms that’ll place you on the waiting list to submit your application for visa. I think once you’re notified to proceed with your application, you can then upload the remaining documents which after examination, they’ll give you an appointment date or tell you documents that are missing. This is what I got from the consular portal… |
Travel › Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by profsomebody(m): 11:17pm On Feb 10, 2025 |
Thank you. Was just surprised they didn't ask if Cat A or B while filling the form, and Cat B too has been removed from the old site. Also, do you upload documents before you can be invited to submit application? mysticlover: They still are just that Cat A application is on the new consular website. Although the waiting time says 1year I doubt that is the case but we can’t tell yet has no one has gotten an appointment date yet since the launch of the website. I applied ending of January and I’m still on the waiting list to send my application. So we’re looking towards 4 weeks waiting time which is the normal period for waiting when applying through the former website. By March, if no email to submit application then we can know what next…. |

Please, how are we expected to show proof of all we've been doing till the appointment time? This is something I've been trying to get because I've been basically self-employed, but that's not what I put in my CV, so I don't know if they need employment letters or payslips. Hannania: They don't care about that. Go through the study checklist, they stick with that |

Thank you, it appears I have all I need. Maybe my language was misleading. I see a primary school certificate. I've never imagine that one for an MS. Thank you again. jaeima: An affidavit of change of name is an additional requirement to prove your point. It does not stand as a birth certificate/age declaration.
An age declaration is needed where a birth certificate is missing or vice versa per the requirements.
I suggest you look up the visa checklist.

Thank you oyinkel: Yes, but the nature of proof of fund varies for different states. You maybe required to show a bank statement that reflects the amount of money needed (In this case you can get people to send money into your account until it have a balance that correspond to the needed sum, print the statement and return their money) or just have a job contract. But some foreigner's office would require that you reblock the account.
The oga patapata of them all is for someone to do a declaration of commitment "Verpflichtungserklärung"....in which case you can even ask for a two or three years residence permit extension at once.
Acquaint yourself with the peculiarity of your jurisdiction and plan accordingly. |
