BusinessRe: Why Is Dangote Cement More Expensive In Nigeria Than Other Countries by project4OO: 2:41am On Mar 30, 2018
It is more expensive to produce a bag of cement in Nigeria.

Reasons are obvious:

* Too many bottlenecks
* Corruption and bribery (you can't transport your goods from Kano to Lagos by road without giving bribes to at least 30 security operatives.
* Electricity cost
* Logistics, cost of fuel
* Double/triple taxation (with omo-onile)
* Bad economy and inflation
* Etc.

Oga, I applaud your wife for finding herself and following her path. Birth control wasn't the major problem in your marriage, you felt you lost control of her because well, she's taken charge of her fertility and life. She can switch to non-hormonal birth control.

One thing should be clear to you, marrying her as a virgin wouldn't change anything. Marriage is not for everyone and even having children but societal pressure in this part of the world makes most people do it.

Finally, i met my husband a virgin and it makes me feel like I've missed out on life. I really love sex and I get it constantly and guaranteed satisfaction, I have a job, 2 kids and I am on birth control. I honestly wish I had more sexual experiences, I'm never going to act on it but there's that "maybe" always on my mind.
The lack of previous sexual experiences is not the reason you're having that "maybe" on your mind.

If you had previously done it with 5 men, you'd still end up missing your experiences with at least one of those men.

Contentment is even easier to attain when there are no previous experiences.

You can't become Dangote or Bill Gates by simply not going to church either.

What it takes to become Dangote or Bill Gates has nothing to do with your presence or absence in Church

Wonderful write up. If government raises taxes on the rich, eliminates duplication of functions in mda's, enshrines meritocracy, punishes bad behaviour and invests in electricity and refineries, nigeria will be a great country.

Thank you very much. I hope you someday feel what I felt if you are a woman. And I hope you have daughters if you are a man.
So the fact that I came here should make people insult me? I am not here to pretend. I am here to pour out my heart. What will it profit me to lie? Are you or anyone going to beat me? Or are you going to give me an award?
I thank the sensitive people in this forum who were sensitive to my concerns. Nigerians think they are mini gods when people ask them for help.
I don’t know you, you don’t know me. Judge me after you are done wearing my shoes.
We are not trying to judge you. However to get the best of opinions, you need to be open minded. Don't fight anyone or everyone that contradicts your preconceived opinions. If you have the solutions, I'm sure you would have solved the problem long before coming to NL.

No one here really can understand the perfect picture until we hear the other side of the story, so relax, be open-minded, pick those points that affect you (even if it doesn't go down well) and see how you can manage the situation.

Thank you for the prayers, but I don't think it is necessary, I'm still expecting answers to some prayers I made some 25 years ago. You don't need to add new ones.

@OP, what exactly do you want?

Seems like you're more interested in throwing curses around. You're not exactly what you portrayed in your opening post. Your expressions here show the exact reasons you're constantly at war with your husband's relative.

Take it or leave it, you share some portion of the problem.

4. Stop Building Roads for Cars

Road crashes are somewhat inevitable in any part of the world, but like in most developed countries, it can be reduced, or at best, managed effectively.

But why does it seems like most developing and third world countries records more road crashes than the rest of the world? It is partly because they build roads for cars.

We are too car-centric we forget to include road signs, because obviously, conventional cars can’t read. We are too car-focused we ignore pedestrian bridges, good walkways and footpaths for humans. We see potholes and assume our cars are very rugged, it can bear anything, including bloodshed.

So let’s echo this: roads are not meant for cars, they are meant for people!! If we continue to construct roads with the consciousness that roads are meant for cars, we may not record any significant progress. Put human lives at the forefront of road construction projects, and watch how great our roads will become.

5. More Roads Won’t Solve Congestion Issues

High traffic rates and congestion remain some of the most prevalent threats to the survival of workers and industries, particularly in a city centre like Lagos. But the truth is this: constructing more roads doesn’t necessarily alleviate congestion problems. By building more roads for automotive vehicles, you raise congestion and, of course, sustainability issues.

To curb the problems of congestion, everybody must not move at the same time and peak-hour loads each day (e.g. 7AM & 5PM). If a certain number of workers are able to commute during less crowded periods of the day, why can’t we revisit this aspect of work-life, if it will free up space on formerly congested roads?

Ever wondered why there is less traffic congestion in the highbrow areas of Lagos? It is partly because the rich do not rise early.

1. Don’t Create More Jobs, Just Increase Productivity

It is true we all want to see the FG create more jobs for the unemployed, but doing so without a determination to improve productivity is detrimental (a major cause of government’s inability to pay salaries).

Over 89,511 Federal Civil Servants in Nigeria generated about N1.04 trillion as revenue in 2017. Great right? Well, 20,658 Facebook employees generated N12.6 trillion in the same year. What does that tells us? Nigeria has serious productivity issues. Creating more and more unproductive jobs won’t solve our problems. Forcing everybody into unproductive entrepreneurial ventures won’t solve it either. Sometimes, a few productive hands can relatively turn around the whole situation.

2. More Education Can Lead to More Insurgency

Education produces high expectations (e.g. good job, big salaries, etc.). When those expectations are not met, it results to frustration and relative deprivation. Merely strengthening education or enrolling more Nigerians in schools may sometimes prove counterproductive.

The promotion of education in the country should be accompanied by a willingness to materialize the promises teachers give their students in the classrooms. Don’t tell people to go to school to study medicine & surgery if there are no functional hospitals to operate.

3. N100-gate, not Maina- or Dasuki-gate, Contributes More to Poverty

Have you noticed why it does appears that the fight against high profile corruption cases (e.g. Dasuki-gate) has actually not translated into prosperity of the common man? A World Bank stats reveal that in some developing countries, the poor pay 12.6% of their income to bribes while high-income households pay 6.4%.

No! They don’t pay bribes to Dasuki or Maina. The money goes to Uniform men on the road, electricity workers, road thugs, and the likes. To understand the meaning of high volume corruption, calculate 12.6% of the yearly income of the poor and multiply by 109 million poor people.

As much as the government is interested in 'eliminating' poverty by utilizing monies recovered from high profile corrupt persons, the fastest way to curb poverty is by waging a war against high volume corruption cases. N100 is nothing until you multiply it by the average number of transporters in 1 year.

Imagine there's no religion.

Nothing to kill, or die for. We would all be living as one.

God bless John Lennon.
Same way we are living as one with wandering Fulani herdsmen, money-loving kidnappers, skull mining traditionalists and drug shuttling developers??
I bet these ones kill for 'religion' too.

Illiteracy, social inequality, poverty and ethnic bigotry (not religion) are Nigeria's greatest problems.

Give religion to an educationally-deprived & poverty stricken ethnic-bigot, he will mis-use it. Take away religion from him, you may lose your head.
