1k birds will feed 105 to 115g /day = 105kg
105kg x 30days = 3150kg
3150kg / 25kg per bag = 126bags of layers mash per month
126bags x 5550 (price per bag) = 699,300 naira for feeding
1k birds can 960 eggs per day at peak lay
960 eggs / 30 = 32 crates
32 crate x 30days = 960 crates
960crates x 1200 per crate = 1,152,000 naira
1,152,000 from sale of egg - 699,300 for feeding = 452700 profit
Might be lower or higher


You did not consider some cost such as:
Vaccination and medication cost
Transportation cost(movement of feeds)
Labour cost
Wood shaving cost( incase of deep litter system)
Petrol cost( for pumping water)
Etc.

Also the 96% laying percentage is rarely attainable and sustainable. 78% to 85% laying % should be used for calculation.

From my active experience, 1000 layers can give you guaranteed profit of 150k to 180k monthly. Thus formulating your own feed increases your profit.

Can you show us the pictures of the layers and their house?

These are things that may make layers not to lay:

1. Poor Weight at maturity: if the weight below 1.5kg, they're likely not to lay.

2. Poor quality feed: poor quality feed does not gurantee laying, which feed brand are you using?

3. Insufficient daily feed intake: depending on the energy of your feed, a layer consumes between 112 to 120grams per day. Anything less than said is underfeeding.


Insufficient water intake: egg is made of water. if good drinking water is not always available, laying is not guaranteed.

Poor lighting system: if the poultry house is too dim during the day, it affects egg laying

Buhari is currently applying a $2b loan, in the event Nigeria divides, who will pay for all these external debts?
If Nigeria eventually divides, those that will pay the loans are those that have those loan projects in their region.

if you want to enjoy vegetable production, imbibe the use of organic manure such as poultry or rabbit faeces. also if you can get a litre of rabbit urine from a rabbit farmer( mix 1 litre of rabbit urine with 20 litres of water), spray it on the leaves to kill pests that attacks the leaves.

how to water and when to water is very important. watering in the afternoon or when the sun is harsh causes more damage than good to the plants. so water early in the morning or late in the evening. evening watering is better because the water stay long in the soil for usage by the plants unlike in the morning that is easily dried up when the sun is up.

when watering, the roots needs more of the water than the leaves. so focus more on the base of the plants.

over watering causes leaching of essential nutrients in the soil, so avoid it.
