The alleged assassination attempt on Nigeria’s embattled Minister of Aviation, Stella Oduah, is a manufactured lie meant to divert attention from the corruption scandal involving her, Nigerians said on Tuesday. The minister had, on Monday evening, reported to the police that her car came under gunfire by unknown persons at Maitama area of Abuja on Friday at 10.30 p.m. The Police Public Relations Officer at the Federal Capital Territory, Altienne Daniel, confirmed that Oduah reported the matter on Monday but could not say whether the metallic object found in the car was a bullet or not. Daniel said detectives who checked the vehicle retrieved a metallic object which was being subjected to ballistic test to ascertain whether it was a bullet or not. “The incident was reported to us on Monday at exactly 5.45pm and we are subjecting the metallic object we recovered from the car to ballistic test. I can’t say whether the object is a bullet or not, so I can’t give you any information on it for now,” Daniel said. Oduah had alleged that three shots were fired at the car at 10.30 p.m. on Friday. The Minister was not in her Escalade car with registration number FST 914 BL at the time of the attack. The Special Assistant to the Minister on Media, Joe Obi, also confirmed the incident, adding that Oduah was safe. But Nigerians who spoke to P.M.NEWS doubted the story, describing it as “cooked up” and an attempt to divert attention from the scandal involving her in the purchase of two BMW cars at the hefty sum of N255 million. “Nigerians are very wise and no one believes her story. No one had tried to kill her in the past, why is it now that she is under investigation for atrocities she has committed that someone would shoot at her car?” queried Mohammed Tukur, a vocal aviation stakeholder and member of the Airlines Operators of Nigeria, AON. “Everybody can arrange with anyone to shoot at his or her car, especially when we are not in the car and when we are under investigation. “The issue here is simple, she broke the law, she has been indicted and should be removed. Nigerians will not fall for cock and bull stories,” Tukur said. According to Debo Adeniran, Chairman Coalition Against Corrupt Leaders, CACOL, the story is manufactured. “The cooked-up story is an attempt to silence those who had remained critical of the prudence behind the purchase of the two bullet-proof cars at whopping sum of N255m by Ms. Oduah,” Adeniran said. He added: “Does it not sound more like a make-believe thing that the incident that occurred on Friday was not reported until Monday? It is clear that the story is an attempt to justify the shenanigans perpetrated by the Minister.” According to Captain Dele Ore, President Aviation Round Table, ART, Oduah must be fired immediately. “I will not talk about that Minister until she is fired,” he said. To activist Achike Chude, there must be a clear separation between an assassination attempt and the issue of corruption involving Stella Oduah. “They are separate issues. Let the police deal with the serious allegation of assassination attempt while the government deals with the serious problem of corruption involving her,” he said. Chude, who is the National Deputy Chairman of the Joint Action Front, JAF, doubted that the government could deal with the issue of corruption. He said: “Can a system built on corruption and nutured and dependent on corruption fight corruption? Ultimately, corruption destroys everything including those who perpetrate it.” Other Nigerians who commented on P.M.NEWS website or social media doubted the story, saying it was an attempt to get sympathy from Nigerians. Also speaking during a television programme on Tuesday morning, a lawyer and human rights activist, Justice Ohuegbu, asked the police to stop embarrassing itself over something the Force knows is not true but cooked up. According to him, the story was fabricated to give Nigerians the impression that Ms. Oduah had anticipated that she would be in danger as a result of her job and thus give justification to the purchase of the cars. “Nigerians are not fools. The incident was stage-managed. We have been having billions of naira being stolen…Nigerian leaders make themselves enemies to the people,” he said, adding that the Minister was only attempting to add ‘salt to injury’ by reviving the issue of the allegation that she is corrupt and should be sacked. He wondered why the police was very quick to confirm the incident when nobody had earlier expressed doubt concerning the incident. Another analyst, Darlington Agomuo, said: “as far as I am concerned, I don’t think the drama is necessary. When you have done something doubtful, there is no need adding to it. “We don’t really know what happened. The police had pre-empted us. So they refused to allow us doubt the story before they could confirm. “She is drawing attention to herself again and this can embarrass the Peoples Democratic Party and the Jonathan government because I am not sure Jonathan sent her to lie to Nigerians again. This is something I find difficult to understand because they draw attention to themselves uneccessarily. The impression they want us to get is that the bullet-proof car is very important,” he said. He recalled that the Minister had denied that the cars were for her use and wondered who was now after her when she was actually the one after the country for her doubtful activities. “We don’t even need police confirmation on this. Personally, I think Oduah is not making her case any better. “The police should not be too quick. If those who shot were actually after her life, they would have done their homework very well, not to shoot at the car when she was not there,” he said. Also Dipo Olayoku, a public affairs analyst, said the confirmation given to the incident by the Nigerian Police has even done more damage to the incident and the corruption allegation against the Minister. “Nigerians would want to know when it happened, what hour it happened, what was the level of success of the would-be assassins and other reasons behind the attack,” he said. Olayoku expressed dismay that nothing has happened since the incident as the probe into the allegations had not proven anything significant. “The House of Representatives did investigation and is finding it difficult to submit its report. The Federal Government set up its panel and the panel submitted its report secretly and there is nothing coming out from it,” he lamented. —Simeon Ateba & Eromosele Ebhomele http://pmnewsnigeria.com/2013/11/26/you-lied-nigerians-tell-aviation-minister/ |
First i will start with taking away imunity from office holders giving Nigerians ability to prosecute their leaders in court. I will initiate state police and create constitution that makes it difficult for them to be easily influenced by incubent government. I will scrap this rubbish amnesty already in play and increase the livelihoood of Police wellfare in the country. Initiate more powers to labout unions to hold their government accountable. I will give an executive order to kill all corrupt past leaders, dissolve agencies with multiple duties like Civil defence, EFCC, VIO and road safety. I will reduce powers of the federal government from interferring in state affairs. Finally as a gift to society sign contract to rehabilitate prisons to accommodate the influx of leaders to be prosecuted in future.(at least i am that comapssionate. abi i no try) |

Lagos — The Nigerian Navy says it is building commercial war ships for export within the African countries. The Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Adm. Dele Ezeoba, said this on Tuesday when he inspected the second indigenous patrol ship under construction at the Naval Dockyard, Victoria Island, Lagos. Ezeoba expressed confident that the Nigerian Navy was skilled enough to build patrol ships between 10 and 38 metres in size for export. "The Nigerian Navy will no longer buy a ship of between 10 and 12 metres in size, because we have the capacity and capability to build them in our dockyard," he said. According to him, the ship under construction is in the same class with first indigenous 31 metres patrol ship, NSS Andoni, but was redesigned and upgraded to 38 metres. Ezeoba said that the ship building business would not only attract economic value but create job for hundreds of thousands of Nigerians in the maritime sector and beyond. He assured that the second indigenous ship would be delivered to Nigerian Navy by the dockyard for its inauguration into the fleets latest by June 2014. At the NSS Beecroft, the Naval Chief also inaugurated four new patrol shaldag mante boats to enhance operational capability of the base in addition to the six of their class which were inaugurated in December 2012. Earlier, while addressing officers and rating at the Naval Training Command, Apapa, Ezeoba announced plan to build a new Navy barrack in Abuja in order to address the accommodation problem in the service. He said that the Naval Headquarters was looking at the possibility of channelling the lodging allowances of officers and ratings, which amounted to N3.6 billion annually, into building more houses within a year. Did He actually say riding bicycles on high ways. I am ashamed that the government takes pride in shortcuts. Why can't we implement laws to prosecute office holders in government for abuse of roads. What about indiscriminate driving of law enforcement officers, what about sueing the government for leaving roads unattended when tax payer money is available. Instead we see articles saying the governor just donated money or a facility to a community as if it came from his personal account. Journalism isn't doing us justice at all in Nigeria. |
I don't believe this photo ops. This Nigeria the same place that killers of Kudirat were reportedly prosecuted only for us to see Al Mustaphar almost hanged to death. We need to see prosecution of such people in court and judgements passed |
This terrible. Now they are having world recognition. A shame this government could'nt quel this extremism but gave them opportunity to stand on world stage |

The House of Representatives has mandated a joint committee to investigate the alleged involvement of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) with Swiss oil dealers in deals that cost the federal government billions of dollars. This resolution followed a motion by Abiodun Abudu-Balogun, who drew attention to a Berne Declaration report, a Swiss non-governmental advocacy organisation, released last week, detailing how the NNPC and the Swiss oil trading companies allegedly duped the country of over $6.8 billion. Abudu-Balogun expressed worry that “In spite of all these actions of the National Assembly, there are still allegations of corruption in the Nigerian oil industry. The new report by Swiss non-governmental advocacy organisation, the Berne Declaration, detailing how the NNPC, in connivance with major Swiss oil trading companies, is draining Nigeria of billions of dollars of revenue through the sale of crude oil below the market value. “The Berne Declaration has described the Nigerian oil scam as the greatest fraud Africa has ever known, and the report specifically listed Vitol and Transfigura Commodity Trading Firms (NNPC partners) in the shady deals, saying Nigeria loses billions of dollars as large volumes of oil are exported far below the market prices. “Exclusive and (non transparent) partnerships of Vitol and Transfigura with NNPC gave them over 36 percent of the market share, with NNPC selling its crude at discounts. Why is Nigeria the only major oil producing nation that sells 100 per cent of its crude to private traders rather than market, it benefits from the resulting added value with the greatest number of beneficiaries of export allocations. “(We are) worried by the sharp practices and deals in NNPC crude oil allocations to local refineries, which are not utilised, but sold fraudulently at knock down prices to Geneva-based companies through letter box companies by SWAP arrangements,” he said. Titled “Swiss Traders Opaque Deals in Nigeria”, the report catalogued the “letter box companies” modus operandi employed by the alleged partners to defraud the country of over $6.8 billion, noting that such a fraud is the greatest in Africa. The report said: “No less than 6.8 billion dollars of unjustifiable subsidies were paid out in 2009 and 2011 – that is the equivalent of nearly four times the Nigerian health budget for 2013.” It said, “the all-powerful national company, the NNPC, categorised as the most opaque national oil company on the planet, itself is evidence of Nigeria’s ‘resource curse’ at work.” The first and third largest Swiss enterprise in terms of turnover in 2012, Vitol and Trafigura, outclassed their competitors through opaque partnerships with the NNPC to defraud Nigeria, it said. It notes that more than half of Nigerian crude oil exports pass through Switzerland and that Nigeria is the only major producing company that sells 100 per cent of its crude oil to private traders, rather than marketing it itself and benefiting from the resulting added value. It further gave instances to show how oil sales between the NNPC and the Swiss partners were carried out at prices lower than the market rates, adding that seven of the Nigerian ‘importers’ involved in this fraud have a subsidiary in Switzerland. The report indicts the NNPC thus: “Swiss traders do not acquire this crude oil based on public and transparent calls for tender… each year the NNPC grants the allocations of exports under obscure conditions and on the basis of criteria that are unknown outside the restricted circle of the decision makers.” The Berne Declaration said the profit generated by NNPC and its Swiss partners escape state coffers, adding that any profits that are collected in Nigeria for the state don’t get through. The lawmaker said in view of the damaging allegations contained there-in, the House needs to investigate the report. The committee is expected to report back to the house within four weeks. |

Nigerian politicians have carried their blatant disrespect for God and godly behavior to Prayer Camps, Adoration Grounds and Redemption Camps where they constantly desecrate the hallowed environment. Many prayer camps abound in Nigeria including Alone With God Prayer Camp, Abuja, Scripture Union Camp of Faith Okigwe which serves clerics cutting across denominations in the South East and South South. There is Adoration Ground in Emene, Enugu managed by Rev Fr Ejike Mbaka, Adoration Ground in Uke, Anambra State managed by Rev Fr Emmanuel Obinma popularly called ( Ebube Muonso), Upper Room Ministries of late Rev Fr Njoku in Emene, Enugu. Bishop Oyedepo manages Canaan Land, Pastor Kumuyi controls Deeper Life Camp Ground , Pastor Odukoya controls Mountain of Fire Prayer City, Pastor Adeboye controls Redemption Camp all within Lagos- Shagamu expressway. These prayer camps were established to enable Christians seek the face of God in matters of holiness, dedication, repentance, prosperity, healing, deliverance and even national rebirth, and these aforementioned camps have some doses of presence of God in their activities. Redemption Camp is the biggest prayer camp in Africa. There is no doubt for any spiritually discerning observer that the Redemption Camp carries some doses of the Presence of God especially during Holy Ghost Congress, Holy Ghost Service etc. Many Nigerians throng to the camp to seek a conducive environment to communicate with God away from the distractions of city life and busy schedule. The same environment had also attracted many troubled politicians including former president Obasanjo who ran to the place when Pastor Tunde Bakare prophesied that his Ota born head will be severed by Nigerian coup plotters before May 1999 in a widely reported controversial prophecy. Reports have it that he also visited the camp later on in his presidency. This Redeemed Camp has been troubled by those who troubles Nigeria including looters of public treasury, riggers of elections, political liars, economic kidnappers and perpetrators of social and political injustice. They also came to seek the face of God to continue with their acts of evil against the Nigerian people. Their activities would have gone unnoticed until Nigeria’s President Jonathan went to the camp and knelt before Pastor Adeboye in show of strange humility meant to achieve electoral advantage. At the end of the day, many Christians voted for Jonathan because he knelt before Baba Adeboye. Two years later, when his popularity dwindled due to draconian economic policies, mountain corruption and removal of fuel subsidy, Nigeria’s President Jonathan ran to the Camp again, mounted the podium and reeled lies and deceits that he has not made up his mind to re-contest for re-election in 2015, when his close friends have already told many Nigerians that nothing will stop their man in 2015. Barely three weeks after lying at the Redeemed Camp, he unleashed mayhem on his Rivers State kinsman, Rotimi Amechi, and his supporters for daring to have interest in the same presidency he is ‘YET’ to decide on. Holy Ghost Adoration Ground, Uke, in Anambra State is another popular camp which receives hordes of visitors. Many Catholics have found solace in that place managed by Rev Fr Obinma and God had also met them there in one way or the other. That ground has been a source of succor to lots of Anambrarians under the groan of slowpoke leadership for many years that they have to resort to God and Fr Emmanuel Obinma for spiritual solutions to man-made malfeasance due to societal maladministration. It was in such state where God is being solicited to deliver the people from kidnappers, robbers, unemployment, diseases etc. that Governor Peter Obi of Anambra State, Party Chairman, Victor Umeh, and APGA Gubernatorial Flag bearer, Willy Obiano, among others, invaded the solemn arena, and turned it into a campaign arena where they wanted to woo some of the adherents of the prayer ground in the same manner President Jonathan swooped on Redemption Camp to woo voters. Unlike the Redemption Camp where the worshipers were excited that President Jonathan knelt before their General Overseer, the Adoration worshipers where not impressed with the presence of Governor Peter Obi in their hallowed ground. They booed, murmured and hissed as he spoke to them. They detested any political presence while they are trying to locate God. Governor Obi and his team later knelt down for prayers the same manner Jonathan knelt before Adeboye yet the worshipers were not impressed. By the time the governor and his team of politicians left, they have desecrated the place so much that death soon followed in their trails. Thirty Five Roman Catholics, under the Pontificate of poor people loving Pope Francis were trampled by agents of wealthy, looting politicians because they went to seek God in a prayer Camp. This is because politicians have desecrated prayer grounds sometimes with the connivance of the clerics while in some other cases they used and dumped the clerics without their knowledge. In the case of Redeemed Camp, nobody died physically, but many RCCG fans constantly die emotionally, politically, psychologically whenever occult, corrupt, looting, insensitive and wicked politicians are given undue attention in the place. After the 2012 political campaign at the Redemption Camp, one of Adeboye’s pastors, Bankole, a lawyer and human rights activist resigned from the pastorate in protest over the desecration of the Camp Hallowed Podium by corrupt politicians. The Uke tragedy is a divine sign that ‘whosoever breaks the hedge, the serpent will bite’. Whatsoever caused their death; this is the first time death is being recorded on that ground. These politicians have desecrated the holy ground at Uke, and instead of apologizing, they are playing politics with it. The clergy cannot avoid the blame for whatsoever happens in that Camp. Governor Peter Obi, Presidents Goodluck Jonathan, Boko Haram Warlord Malam Shekau, Prime Minister Robert Mugabe, Senator Bola Tinubu, General Buhari and others have the right to visit prayer camps. While in such camps, they should be in prayer mood like other worshipers, and apart from official protocols of recognition, they might, at most, be only allowed to greet the church and should be more involved in repenting of their acts of mis-governance which they visited on defenseless Nigerians, instead of hypocritical sermonization and political campaigning. Nigerian politicians have added in their trails of looting, thieving, lying, murder, assassinations, kidnapping and insensitivity, another vice; desecration of camp ground and insulting the spiritual sensibilities of innocent Nigerians-very soon the original owner of these prayer ground would go on rampage and there may be nowhere to hide for those who aid and abet the desecration of spiritual places of succor. A group known as Investigative Reporters In Aviation (IRA) has come out with yet another bombshell on the wanton looting of the nation’s financial resources by the Minister of Aviation, Stella Oduah, and her disorganization of the entire aviation sector. Speaking for the group, Mazi Kanayo Ochei, and Kenneth Uti President and Secretary respectively, said their investigations reveal that in addition to the two cars she forced the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) to purchase for her, she also forced the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) and the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) to buy two each of the same brand of cars. “I don’t understand why Nigerian media are shouting about NCAA alone, when a total of six bulletproof cars were actually purchased by the Minister on the bill of three aviation agencies,” they said. “Our work as IRA revealed that while Nnamdi Udoh of NAMA bought two BMW, Joyce Nkemakolam (Acting DG) of NCAA bought two BMW, and Mr. Uresi George of FAAN bought two bullet-proof American specs limousine for the Minister of Aviation.” They further stated that all the purchases were made from Coscharis Motors and cannot be denied. “If Nigerians really know the magnitude of the rot in the Aviation Industry as at this moment, they will carry placards against this administration,” the IRA officials said, noting that the FAAN is heading for bankruptcy, with the MD on the verge of taking a bank loan to pay workers’ salaries last month. “The only option left for FAAN now is to begin to use part of their statutory remittance to Federation Account to offset their bills.” On the part of NAMA, the IRA described it as being in disarray, that nobody seems to know what is going on and that the workers have completely lost confidence in the Management. They noted that members of the NAMA staff have threatened on several occasions in the recent past to embark on industrial action based on poor conditions of service and heaps of unpaid allowances. “IRA further wants EFCC to call Coscharis Motors for questioning on the six cars purchased by the Minister so as to get to the root of this issue,” they said. It would be recalled that on October 19, the Director-General of the NCAA, Capt. Fola Akinkuotu, told a press conference in Abuja that the Federal Government was hunting for the whistleblower who leaked the story of the two scandalous armoured cars the agency bought for Mrs. Oduah at a cost of N225m. On October 21, SaharaReporters further reported that NAMA had also purchased four Toyota Tundra vehicles for Mrs. Oduah in addition to four stretch limousine cars that were said to have been bought for the transportation of VIPs to the Ministry. In a statement, Supo Atobatele, the General Manager of NAMA, attacked the report as “frivolous, malicious and mischievous.” “We hereby make it categorically clear to the unsuspecting public that this evil story as being promoted, is patently false in its entirety and calculated to put the agency and the office of the minister into disrepute,” he said. IRA has called on President Jonathan to recognize that only a level-headed, matured and patriotic Minister can help Nigerian Aviation industry, “not a self-seeking, corrupt and proud person like Stella Oduah.” Furthermore, the group said, “We also want to advise the newly confirmed Director-General of NCAA Fola Akinkotun to stop defending what he knows practically nothing about, while we sympathize with his position, we advise him to stop making any further reckless press statement in any futile attempt at defending those who all Nigerians know how they ganged up to prevent him from taking up the position of the DG NCAA for almost 5 months after he was chosen by President Jonathan.” This morning, George Uresi, the chief executive officer of the FAAN admitted to a hearing of the Senate Aviation Committee that the agency indeed bought four bullet proof cars for Ms. Oduah at N70 million each. source: http://www.osundefender.org/?p=129564 |

Deputy Governor of Borno State, Alhaji Zannah Umar Mustapha has called on the peoole of Kawuri village in Konduga Local Government to conquer their fear of the dreaded Boko Haram sect and rise to defend their village from attacks. Mustapha stated this on Thursday at the district head of Kawuri’s house when he visited the area to commiserate with the people following attacks by members of the Boko Haram sect, where 18 people were injured, over 200 houses burnt and 48 shops destroyed. The Deputy Governor told the people that there was no need for fear of death now since death is what no mortal can avoid. “The people of Maiduguri has since realised that, and it is working for them, as nobody can carry gun to go and kill a fellow human being without being arrested and brought to justice. “I urge you to do the same by ensuring that you rise up to defend yourselves”. Mustapha added that government was touched by the unfortunate situation the people of Kawuri found themselves, stressing “That is why I am here standing in place of our governor because he would have been here but for the fact that he is attending to some needs of the state outside the country. “Government is going to get the list of houses burnt, shops destroyed, lives taken and also attend to the wounded as it has been doing in other places affected by the same problem”. The Deputy Governor, who also announced the donation of two new golf cars and two hundred and fifty thousand naira to youth volunteers in the village said “the Boko Haram elements are no respecters of human lives as such, there should be no reservation about them. “When they started in Maiduguri, many took lightly the issue until they started killing clerics, innocent civilians and even the people they called their own before the people realised they are bad elements”. Speaking to some our correspondent, one of the residents said they were afraid to carry sticks and matches as others in Konduga and Maiduguri, because Kawuri village appeared to have many informants to the sect in the village, due to its proximity to Sambisa forest where military troops and insurgents have been battling since the declaration of state of emergency. A resident, who did not want his name in print told newsmen that the insurgents always came to the village for several reasons, including information, food and women and had not at anytime attacked the village until recently when they had problem with youth volunteers, who came around from Maiduguri when they were attacked by the sect members. |
Abuja — Mrs Alice Akor, a mother of five who delivered quadruplets about six months ago, on Thursday in Abuja appealed for help from government and well-meaning Nigerians. Akor said she and her family had since April been battling to make ends meet and sustain the children, and would now really appreciate help from any quarters. Akor gave birth to quadruplets on April 23, 2013 at the National Hospital in Abuja. Akor, a National Diploma (ND) holder, said she had been finding things difficult since after the birth of her quadruplets, after struggling to pay the hospital bills of almost N700,000. She said she was selling clothes before the babies' arrival, but she has had to stop this due to the financial burden and physical demands of raising her children. "It was when my pregnancy was five months old that I knew it was quadruplets. I had earlier thought it was only one baby because it kicked like one baby. "But after I did a scan at the Daughters of Charity Hospital in Kubwa, they referred me to the National Hospital where I started the ante-natal the following week. "I was put on bed rest for six weeks before the Caesarean section on April 23, 2013," the woman said. Akor said her husband had to borrow money to offset the bills before she and the children were discharged from the hospital. "I had no money to pay, and I slept there (in the hospital) for two days before they could discharge me. But, right now, I need Nigerians and the government to assist me," she said. Akor said she also has fears about the children's future, saying she would love to give her children the best form of education. "Training the children to higher institutions is my fear now, and I want to start to lay the foundation for a better future for them by bringing them up in the right ways," she said. Akor said feeding the children with milk formula costs her family not less than N15,000 every week but it had become difficult to continue. She said caring for the children was also difficult because of the type of accommodation she and her husband had. "Right now, my husband does not have any job, other than staying around to help me take care of the children, while I cannot do any work for now. "So, I need Nigerians and the government to assist me," Akor said. Looking back at how she came about having the quadruplets, the mother of five said it was a divine gift she and her family could not refuse. "Since I had a baby boy before, we (she and her husband) prayed for one more to make it two children for us. "Our wish was to have two children, but when it turned out to be four, who are we to query God or reject the children? "We just have to accept things as they are and find a way of sustaing them. But, in this, we will need the help of government and other Nigerians," she said.(NAN |
Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi has criticised the Nigeria Football Federation for failing to pay him his salary for seven months. Keshi, who is preparing his side for November's World Cup play-off second leg against Ethiopia, has not been paid since he led the Super Eagles to the Africa Cup of Nations title in February. "The lowest point of my career is working and not being paid for seven months," he told BBC Sport. "I have never had this kind of experience before." The former Togo and Mali coach first revealed to BBC Sport in June that he was owed wages. Continue reading the main story “I am giving everything I have to the job - I need to be respected and given my pa” Stephen Keshi And it is not the first time Nigerian coaches have been not been paid; Christian Chukwu, Shaibu Amodu, Samson Siasia, Austin Eguavoen, John Obuh and Eucharia Uche have all previously complained about outstanding salaries in the recent past. Keshi feels the situation is disrespectful and unacceptable. "In Mali, they will never owe you; your salary will hit your account before the end of every month. It was the same thing in Togo," he said. "Owing me up to eight months makes me feel I am not being appreciated, it is like they think I am being favoured in what I am doing. "I am not being favoured. I am giving everything I have to the job - I need to be respected and given my pay." Keshi's comments come after a statement credited to the Nigeria Football Federation said that the allowances and bonuses the team's coaches earn are enough to sustain them. "I don't like discussing money issues and if there is any NFF member who said we can work for free, then I will want to speak with him face to face," Keshi said. "If they say we can work for free and that they are not going to pay, so be it. "I can't have my family abroad and I will be in debt because I have not been paid for seven months and somebody is saying we should not complain." The NFF, which is in in serious financial difficulty, also owes money to assistant coach Daniel Amokachi and goalkeeper trainer Ike Shorunmu. The football authority, which receives its funding from the sports ministry, has acknowledged the debts owed to the coaches but says they will have to be patient. One NFF official, who did want to be named, told BBC Sport: "It's embarrassing to be dealing with something like this ahead of a crucial game. Sadly, our terrible financial situation is solely responsible for this. "We are hopeful this will be resolved before the game against Ethiopia." Nigeria will face Ethiopia in Calabar on 16 November and are favourites to progress to next year's tournament in Brazil, having won the first leg 2-1 . |
Alimony is even more important in Nigeria than here where women have a better chance of reinventing themselves after a divorce. Women in Nigeria give up a heck of a lot if a man decides to just get up and walk away. This goes hand in hand with child support. If people knew that they would pay child support for a child until the age of majority they would think twice about keeping multiple wives and mistresses and having children like rabbits I support your claim. To me, it stems the abuse women and children will undergoe as well as cut down on irresponsible mating occurring right now. Who knows it might help reduce the risk of HIV. |
Nigerians are gradually getting to the point whereby having to play tricks on thier conscience will no longer be acceptable. People like this make a living by taking advantage of someone's good feelings to the less privilege in a society filled with harsh times. |
The Enugu State Command of the Department of State Security Services, DSSS, on Thursday paraded a 35-year-old man who has been allegedly defrauding churches in the country under the pretense that he is a repented Boko Haram member.http://www.vanguardngr.com/2013/10/fraud-dss-parades-fake-boko-haram-member-enugu/ |
The way it is shared is based on income and number of children and cost of bringing up those children. This is alos dependent on the fact of who claims custody of those children |
this iw what happens when a man is badly beaten. insteading of hiding his head in shame, he still thinks he could have a way out. What will come for him next will be to much for him to handle. so i percieve a stroke very soon |
Saw this article that and really thought it was worth sharing to show madness for technology. — A Shanghai couple are facing charges after allegedly selling three of their newborns to pay for iPhones, computers and high-end shoes, Chinese authorities said. The husband and wife, both in their early 30s and identified only as Teng and Zhang, face multiple charges of trafficking of women and children, the state-run Xinhua news agency reported Friday. The husband is in custody, and his wife posted bail, China’s Ministry of Public Security said. Shanghai police began investigating the couple in May after receiving tips that they used QQ, a popular Chinese instant messaging system, to place an ad for their newborn girl, the ministry said. Police found the couple by tracing the IP address from their ad. Police arrested them in June. After their arrest, the couple admitted selling three of their newborn babies in recent years for a total of $13,000, the ministry said. They sold the first baby in 2008, the second in 2011 and the third — the girl — this year, the ministry said. Authorities recovered the girl and are now looking for the other two children, the ministry said. Neighbors told police the couple live with two of their children, ages 6 and 9. The neighbors also said the wife appeared pregnant in each instance, but the newborns were gone shortly after being delivered, the Ministry of Public Security said. Through tracing the wife’s credit card and bank transactions, police determined the couple spent all of their sale proceeds on iPhones and luxury shoes, Xinhua reported. The Ministry of Public Security said the couple also bought computers and that police recovered the items from the couple’s home. The couple told police they sold their newborns in the hopes the babies would get a better life, Xinhua reported, and that buyers voluntarily gave them the money. The couple reportedly said they never asked for payment. The selling of babies in China has been a problem in the past. In 2011, the Ministry of Public Security announced that a cross-provincial investigation busted two baby-trafficking rings and rescued 29 newborns in the eastern province of Shandong. The babies were purportedly sold by their biological parents in southwestern China’s Yunnan, Guizhou and Sichuan provinces, the ministry said. http://fox2now.com/2013/10/20/chinese-couple-sells-babies-for-iphones-and-shoes-authorities-say/ |

Jonathan is laying ground work for 2015. Politicians are early strategizers. This is what happens when a man has no plan |
I am a believer that marriage is an institution that should be preserved, however sometimes when you look at the various break ups, you find out the woman and children have a lot to lose. Too many interruptions from family, friends and all this advice of take a second wife to give me grandchildren. So I suggest alimony should be brought to the table. So that when a man either impregnates or leaves his wife or a woman, he must be made to pay child support this way control will be brought to the institution called marriage and children will not have to suffer for the irresponsibility of their parent. Reason i propose these is that little is done by parents to take care of their children's future. For example, how many parents are willing to take up insurance on their life so that when they get old and pass on their children will become beneficiaries. I once heard a man who now lives abroad say his child is irrespossibel and he has no business taking care of him (a child he had when he visited nigeria while married). Mind you his elder brother who has five children of his own has been taking care of the child since birth. This man lives overseas and is married with children, do you think he can utter this in the country he resides which happens to be the US. Hence my concern will correctly say what are parents doing to help their children other than blaming society or federation. What securities are their for the upcoming generation. But when they pass on children are expected to perform during burials to the tune of millions |
