I just watched the video by DJ Switch where she claimed the military shot at protesters at the Lekki Toll Gate.

From the shooting video, the soldiers were firing in the air. It is not possible for those shots to have injured, let alone killed someone on ground. Perhaps, there is another video they are not showing us, in which the soldiers shot protesters directly. If you're reading this, please do not misquote me. I'm not trying to say that nobody was killed, but if at all people were, it's not from that short video in circulation.

Anyone who understands how fire arms work knows that the shell is not projected when a shot is fired. If the weapon is a shotgun (single barrel or double barrel), only the pellets is expelled, while the shell remains in the firing chamber, and has to be removed manually by the shooter. There are other kinds of shotguns that expel shells, but not very far from the gun.

In all automatic and semi-auto weapons, including AK47, which the soldiers were carrying, when a shot is fired, only the projectile is projected. The case (what we call the shell) is expelled not too far from the weapon. In the video (https://www.nairaland.com/6200424/lekki-toll-gate-dj-switch), DJ Switch claimed that a bullet fell close to her, showing an ammo case. How close to the soldiers was she when that particular shot was fired? Let's assume she's even 10 metres away from the soldier that fired the shot, what kind of shell (casing) will travel 10 metres? I'm very sure the shell of the 7.62mm caliber ammo, which the AK47 uses cannot travel that far.

I think there is more to these protests and looting that most of us don't know.

It is true that if President Buhari continues for another 4 years, it could be the turn of the igbos to produce a president. As much as I will love to see this happen, I am afraid of the damaged that might have been done by Buhari administration before then.

7 Things I believe will happen if he is reelected.

5) Insecurity will increase. Considering the fact that people of benue voted Buhari and there is an election coming up and they are killed like this, imagine if buhari wins. Secondly I have always announced my fears about the romance of this administration and the section of bokoharam that believes only Christians should be attacked. The case of leah sharibu is an evidence to the agreement to that effect. Christians will be targeted for attacks and nothing will happen. In a situation where the government decides to work with a group that believes non Muslims can be attacked, I am afraid that the conditions and results of their negotiations will begin to manifest after the elections.

6) there will be deliberate provocation of other regions or ethnic groups towards the end. This might be to create an avenue for the military to take over and install another northerner to continue in power.

7) the calls for separation will be louder in other regions apart from the SE.

There is a lot that this administration is holding back just because of the elections ahead. A president that can call youths lazy months to elections, you can imagine what happens when he is reelected.

Can Nigeria survive double of whatever is happening now for another 4 years?
