It is an association of Criminology Scholars (scholars that are directly involve in the study of crime, criminal behaviour, etiology of crime as well as the control of crime & deliquency). A professional body to promote criminology in Nigeria( as practiced in all over the world).
We have other private institutes such as institute of penology & criminology, institute of criminology & security mgt, institute of criminal justice but no unified body exist. Thus, the rationale behind this proposal is for us to have a unified professional body just like nigerian society of engineers, Indian society of criminologists, american society of criminology etc. We have no business with institute of criminals.
