Russian needs minimum of 500k troops to conquer Ukraine. 150k troops should be enough to take the capital. 250k troops to take on Donbas/Kharkiv, mainly because the main bulk of the Ukraine military was stationed in Donbas before the war. In addition, Russia needs minimum of 150k troops in reserve. So in total 700k troops will do.
