Did you pay for hosting or do you want a free hosting service?

If you want a free host, you can try Yahoo Geocities: http://www.yahoo.com/geocities.

If you paid to a Web host, I believe they would give you and ftp password and the domain you're to transfer files to. you can then download an FTP program and use it to upload your files. You may like Filezilla(which is free by the way) download it from: http://filezilla.sourceforge.net/.

What r u trying to do? A login Module? I'm not sure why you want a Windows Prompt, however It will be pretty tricky to get a Script in PHP to give you a Javascript Prompt considering that the PHP is server side code and the JScript is client side code.

If you MUST get a prompt, I'll suggest that you redirect your form submission to a page that shows "Invalid user" when it loads. i.e. in the body tag you'll have the onload property set to a script with alert("Invalid user";

To be frank, I really don't understand what you're trying to do. Hope this will help a little bit.

Most people that learn on their own do so by experience. If u've got a p.c. u cud Install MS office which will include some of the programs you're asking about. Try your hands on them, and when u get stuck u can use the help files which are quite comprehensive, or ask anyone around you or in this forum.

Nice Design. Quite stylish. I like the style of the site plus the colors fit the description of the service offered.

Seems u wanted those particular fonts in the site and decided to use images to show the font as it is. I'll agree with Prodgal son and say maybe u shud try using flash. Or use other fonts that are similar and more popular.

Your gallery seems a little out of place, maybe u can try Pink borders on the pictures to match some of the elements in your design. I'll also suggest that you download Magic Lantern v1.0 from http://www.urbannetfibre.com/magiclantern (its free), and use the 'pinkslip' skin. It will go nicely with the theme of your site. You can also put the images in the gallery for download in a magic lantern slideshow (in a zip file) as a "take home gift" for visitors to download.

If you're a web designer that builds websites with Pictures, you'll have to decide on how to display pictures on your site so that your visitors will be engaged and captivated by them without being distracted.

You may also want your site visitors to be able to download your pictures along with information on those pictures ( e.g. An e-commerce site allowing shoppers download pictures of products along with details and price info, or a news site with the stories in pictures, e.t.c )

Imagine being able to Play, Stop, Pause and Skip to pictures in a slideshow with transition effects, and then also being able to view this slideshow offline without ANY additional plugins.

Why don't u organise a seminar to discuss new events and technology in the development community.i.e. for a physical location, and organise the forum you are suggesting online. it may be easier that way

I think there should be a distinction here in this topic. While you make it easier to relate most of us with different types of programmers using the Analogy of a mechanic, you have not drawn a line between a Software Engineer, Software Architect and a Programmer. I'm sure thats why someone in this forum thinks of one of these as a "Lab Rat" working on theories that may not work.

Each and every one of these(Software Engr,Programmer, ) has his/her duty to perform to create the great software we see around today(and one person can be all). The coder (i.e. the Mechanistic Programmer) happens to be one party.

Ask yourself this question: When a Company in the U.S outsources a process in Program Development to India (or Nigeria), who writes the codes? Better still, who directs the coder? The guy in the U.S or the Other guy? ('He who pays the Piper dictates the Tune').

Also, try to look at a Software Application (Program) as the outcome of a System, and not just an event. That is to say it involves the generation of Algorithms,Flow charts and Precise goals associated with aspects of the Finished Software Product. That doesn't sound Mechanistic at all.

So, In my opinion, the Nigerian developer should strive to get things done in an orderly fashion,less mechanistically, so we can have more professionals* in our Software community.

*P.S: I refer to Professional as a state of Mind.
