Nairaland GeneralRe: What Are Your Fears In Life? by pulsatingpen: 10:31pm On Jan 26, 2018
Fear of dying without living with a cause worth dying for. Fear of not living a life where the fear of anything is absent, especially death ; I want to be able to look all kinds of fear in the face and triumphantly walk away from this world when I'm done...whether at 30 or 90. I want it to be known that I didn't just exist at some point in time, I LIVED.

It's really sad that children are not safe anymore. The rate at which rape occurs these days is disturbing; my neighbour's fifteen year old daughter was raped last week by a known neighbour. I just hope people like Tony Idisi rot in jail for the rest of their miserable lives.

RomanceRe: How Do You Control Sexual Urge When You Are Single.? by pulsatingpen: 2:11pm On Nov 03, 2017
Its absolutely fine to have sexual urges sometimes. The question is how to deal with it. However, the type of movies you watch, books or articles you read and songs you listen to might be triggers. When you identify such triggers, try to avoid them. Also, get busy purposefully and try to stay around people if you can when the urge pops up. For those going all religious, I get your point; reading the bible is a way of ridding your mind of whatever filthiness you once fed it. Even after being a christian, I had to make conscious decisions to help me deal with my sexual urges. I was sexually molested as a kid and it opened me up to a world of pornography, masturbation, sexchatting and all. If you cannot control yourself now that you're single, you most probably would not be able to control your urges when you are not getting satisfied by your spouse in marriage. For some people, this might not really be a big deal. Cheers!
EducationRe: World Teachers Day: Who Is That Teacher You Can Never Forget? by pulsatingpen: 1:02pm On Oct 05, 2017
Mrs Fayomi, my class teacher in primary 4, Good Shepherd Schools. I love this woman till eternity. She took special interest in me in class and would make me serve punishments for something I had done wrong amd then call me aside and explain things to me. I remember writing that I'ld love to be a nobel laureate in literature in a composition she asked us to write. She helped develop my writing skills. She encouraged me to write fiction and painstakingly went over what I had written. At some point, she encouraged me to publish my collection of stories; I was just 8 years old. In my academics, she pushed me to be the best I could be. I came third out of a total of about 100 kids in my class that year, just like the previous year and she made me promise that I'ld come first before I graduated from secondary school. I never achieved that but because of you, I constantly walk towards becoming a better me. You'll always be in my heart, RIP.

Nairaland GeneralDisclaimer: The Alleged Flogging Of A Student In Unilag by pulsatingpen(op): 1:08pm On Jul 08, 2017
*DISCLAIMER*

*THE ALLEGED FLOGGING OF A STUDENT IN UNILAG: THE REAL STORY*

*Our attention has been drawn to a false news (a picture) that is currently trending on Social Media about a lecturer in UNILAG flogging a student for coming late to his class. This story is far from the truth.*

*We the students of the Department of English, University of Lagos hereby state categorically that the caption in the circulating picture is false; it is not the true representation of what happened in the class.*
*Prof Adeyemi Daramola is one of the best and finest lecturers in our department. He is a father who jokes a lot with us like his children. And the alleged flogging was one of his jokes, as he didn't strike the girl but only demonstrated jokingly.*

*We are eyewitnesses to this event, and we hereby implore media outfits to always investigate their stories professionally before publishing them*.
