In my experience, VERY RELIABLE.

Thanks for the contribution mr nissparts
I did not open this thread because am planing to buy a Hyundai vehicle ,am trying to educate Nigerians about the company and their products so that average nigerians that need an exotic car with cheaper price can go for their products and also see it as a good car if they are truly reliable

I need auto dealers responses to explain further about it , how easy is it to get mechanic that can fix the vehicle , their parts how easy is it to get in the market and lot more you can explain
Thanks all

i just renewed my license this morning and got a temporary one. the FRSC guys said that there's no directive to challenge anyone having old plate numbers. however if you have some 30-40k to give away you can go ahead and change your number

Thanks for the information

Car Talk / Re: How Reliable Are Hyundai Vehicles? by purefella(m): 7:47am On Feb 02, 2012
dabriggs:

Hyundai is SouthKorean and not Chinese. Their main Korean competitior is Kia. The name Hyundai is taken to mean ''Modern'' or ''Modernity''. The name is pronounced ''hiyon-day'' and not ''ha-yon-dai" as most people pronounce it.
Over the years the car has come to strongly compete with Toyota which is taken to be the most trusted brand by Nigerians. However ''Trust'' is a thing of choice and experience. Trust is slowly but surely being built into the Hyundai brands as the years go by. People have realised that they are affordable and give or take if bought new, a car can serve upto 5 years before giving regular issues. It is expected that with increasing patronage, available financing and available technical service provision, the sales will continue to increase.

People will continue to prefere Toyota to Honda and Honda to Hyundai and Kia. This is because Toyota has been aboe to win the trust of Nigerians. Regarding durability and ruggedity it is difficult to say. Go online and type in the following ''problem with, " and put in the name of any car.You will see that all cars have issues. All of them!

Thanks alot dabriggs useful comment

FRSC INTRODUCES NEW NUMBER PLATES, DRIVING LICENCE
News — By bola on September 5, 2011 10:46 am

President Jonathan during the FRSC commissioning of new driving licence and number plates for vehicle users, at the FRSC headquarters, Abuja

FRSC INTRODUCES NEW NUMBER PLATES, DRIVING LICENCE
The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) has announced a deadline of August 2012 for Nigerian drivers to obtain the new driving license and number plates recently
commissioned by President Goodluck Jonathan at the

We are saying the samething , February 1st is when the registration of changing from old plate numbers to new plate numbers will start and August is the deadline for all vehicle owners to have changed from old plate numbers to the new ones before the law enforcement start their usual harassment

onyxo76:

i learnt from a realiable FRSC official that there's no need to change to any new number. the frsc staff themselves are not even changing their own plate numbers for the new ones
he says they are not harassing any one with the old plate numbers, it only applies to new vehicles,

You have to change from Old plate numbers to the New one on or before August 2012 , it's mandatory

Car Talk / Re: Is It Cursed People That Drives Manual Vehicles? by purefella(m): 5:58am On Jan 31, 2012
sultaan:

The OP is a Yoruba, and in the mind, anyone doing things the definitely hard way must could have been "negatively inspired" by someone else.

For those driving manual in other states in Naija, or other countries; driving manual in Lagos rush hour is not a blessing you'll wish for your friend everyday(especially now that auto is an option)

There has been several posts on manual vs auto, but for someone driving auto for a while, going through the pain of driving manual again in Lagos type traffic raises a different question; why manual?.

We all know that in Naija, prior to auto, a lot of car owners hire drivers then spread out in the back corner.Too much work shifting gears.

The roads you drive on dictates the transmission/car users will prefer a 5-spd Corvette, or V-8 Jeep does not make much sense in Lagos because its main attribute is defeated by driving conditions, but an auto civic/corolla, 4-cyl Frontier works better.

applause for you but the bold part is zero, don't bring in tribe issues ,i am not Yoruba .I was born in the UK but raised here in Lagos Nigeria

and you mentioned the road you drive on dictates the transmission .,I want you to correct me if am wrong an auto vehicle will do well on all roads but manual vehicles might not be too good on some roads??

From what i have discovered i think it's only those that understand much about vehicles would prefer manual to auto , why others thinks auto is no much fun to drive because its too easy to control
Car Talk / Re: Is It Cursed People That Drives Manual Vehicles? by purefella(m): 1:34am On Jan 31, 2012
Siena:

Purefella, how're you doing? wink

Nothing wrong with your choice of auto over manual, quite a lot wrong with your choice of words in your opening post though. Cursed? undecided

As per transmission type - I prefer manual, not because I'm "cursed", but because I'm an enthusiastic driver. And no, I don't feel any pain driving a manual. If one feels aches and pains, or feel they're punishing themselves by driving a manual, just haven't mastered the art of driving, it's that simple.

It's late, so will post more on the subject tomorrow. Though if you'd cared to use the "search" function, you'd discover this issue's been flogged to death, there are quite a few threads regarding manual versus auto, some as far back as 2006.

Goodnight all!

Yay! that's my man siena thanks for the response , i can't wait to read another response from you

@ Poster, you better not let Sienna see this, some people are just passionate and not caused (as in your thread). Do you know some people are just sentimental and nostalgic about things especilally electronics and autos? My old man still treasures his LP player and i hope to one day inherit it and keep the tradition ongoing.

I can boldly say it that it's only Somatic that understand me properly , First ask yourself if that topic says Manual Vehicles Drivers are cursed people most of you that are annoyed with my post needs to buy and read a book at least A to Z common mistakes in English for beginners

I chooses that topic and use the word Curse to get what i wanted to know , grab the attention of people so that i can achieve what i wanted so many vital questions has been asked in this forum with no responses and i think you guys should have been used to it from the front cover of magazines and newspapers you read daily that the way a word is stated in the cover front doesn't mean the content of the true story rhymes with it

and finally i got what i wanted  grin grin and it doesn't mean i won't repeat the same in all of my future posts , infact it will only make me use such words more often

and finally from what i gathered i would say people sometimes like the inconvenient over the convenient and the uneasy over the easy and there are some people who enjoys things better if only they can use there own manpower to put it to work

If i get more positive replies i will appreciate it a lot and please note i am not abusing anybody
Thanks

Thanks Decotech and am sorry if that word cursed scares a lil bit but i wasn't cursing anyone , i asked if it could only be the person is cursed that sounds harsh i know but that's how i felt after driving a manual vehicle and from your reply you stated that the auto appears to be too easy that you often find yourself behind the wheels , , Definitely you like things being uneasy than being easy , something that you can put more effort into to get what you want than just getting it right away hmmm thanks for reply i appreciate it . I need more replies Nlers thanks
