naptu2: Yekini Was Killed —Odegbami

Former Nigerian international, Segun Odegbami, MON, alleged in a stunning interview Friday on Channels Television that former African Footballer of the Year, Rashidi Yekini might have been killed by those who forcefully took him away from his home.

Odegbami also called on the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar to probe what led to the reasons the late Yekini was chained and taken away from his residence by unknown people.

The former captain of the Green Eagles of Nigeria opined that the former Vitoria Setubal of Portugal striker was sane but depressed after losing a huge sum of money in a business deal.

He opined that the deceased, who scored Nigeria’s first goal at the World Cup in 1994, was a recluse, stating that when some people alleged that he was insane and took him to the police station, they were rebuffed by the Commissioner of Police in Oyo State.

“Is it a hospital or herbal centre? Why did they take him there? There was absolutely nothing wrong with Rashidi. You’ve been hearing stories and all kinds of reports about Rashidi being mad, walking the streets of Ibadan and all those things, saying he was abnormal. Who would have done normal things, if you lost your fortunes the way he did? He suffered huge financial loss, about two years ago and because he didn’t have any friend.”

Odegbami, who has just returned from Harvard University, USA where he had attended a conference, added: “he could not even share his pains and burden with people. He could have committed suicide but he didn’t. Rather, he behaved abnormally for a while and that was the cause of his depression and it was something that time has healed because the Rashidi I saw was okay.”

He further argued: “how could an insane person drive a car? Rashidi and I met at Onireke Guest House. He carried me in his car, just the two of us and we sat for over one hour. He unburdened his challenges to me and he decided that from now onwards that Rashidi was going to get back into the limelight.”

Odegbami also disclosed that plans were in top gear by First Bank of Nigeria to make the late striker of Gateway Football Club of Abeokuta an ambassador, where he would distribute 5,000 balls to young footballers and when the late striker heard that his eyes lit up.

Odegbami, who owns The International Academy, TIA, Wasimi, Ogun State spoke about the planned programme with First Bank. “I was not going to arrange interviews for you, where people will laugh at you. The plan was to make you do what you know how to do best, play football, train with kids, distribute balls to kids,” Odegbami said he told Yekini.

He also disclosed that SuperSport were interested in what was happening to Yekini and when they heard First Bank was about to make him an ambassador they tried to do a documentary on him.

On how he heard of the demise of the former striker, Odegbami said: “I came back from Ethiopia, called his mobile phone but it didn’t go. I called one of his friends, Bayo and he said he too had been calling Yekini but, no response. It was a premeditated death. Who were those that went to take him away? Why did they take him away? If he was ill, who certified that he was ill? He played football on that day, he was driving his car, he was not disturbing anybody. He had his own problem. Rashidi had always been a recluse, even when he was playing for Nigeria and getting all the awards and everything. Rashidi was not somebody that you will find in the party, he never smoked, he didn’t care about material things.”

Odegbami spoke on how Yekini was abducted by some people after he parked his car, arguing that those behind his abduction must be fished out.

“His neighbours said they saw two spiritual people, one was a relative, the other very close to him. They said they wanted to cure him or something and the police had said that when Rashidi had this depressive problem, they took him to the Commissioner of Police and the commissioner told them that ‘it was you people that have problems not this young man that I’m seeing. Nobody should take him anywhere without the presence of the Police,”

Odegbami called on the Federal Government and the National Sports Commission, NSC, to pay closer attention to ex-sports people because a lot of them have been forgotten after winning laurels for the country.

Imagine!!! they will soon start using satelite to trace Boko Haram and they said it openly , telling the criminals your steps will keep you farther away from them and not closer bunch of stupid people and for those of you saying United states used satelites to trace Osama and got him that's a LIE!!! , it was a phone call to WASHINGTON by one of al-qaeda members or maybe Osama himself because he got tired of his lifestyle that lead to his death

BusinessRe: How Safe Is Internet Banking In Nigeria And Which Bank(s) Will You Recommend? by purefella(m): 12:00am On May 09, 2012
oche_ejemb: Sorry but doesnt that mean the Lady's bank details and all would be right there in his statement, making it very easy for her to be reported to the bank and the police? And also I dont think that such vital information would be cached, i have to input in my login details every single time on GTB's Ib site
Most people have their login details save as draft and the account the gal sent the money to was her own account because the bank provide picture of her when she withdrew the money through atm and sorry sir if you think if someone sent out your money you can trace him or her with the account that is a foul!!! You can open almost 10 intercontinental or first bank account with any identity and wrong details!!!! .fraudsters are always a step ahead
BusinessRe: How Safe Is Internet Banking In Nigeria And Which Bank(s) Will You Recommend? by purefella(m):
Nothing is safe and secured on the INTERNET .,It's you that is using the internet that can secure your own information not anti virus or other software's and hardware's

1). don't give out your mobile phone you use in logging in to your internet banking account for someone to type is # into it because the person can just send money out of your account and also delete the debit text message right in front of you , theirs a way it's being done first the person mostly ladies , it happened to my friend this lady collected his phone in the brt bus to type her # in it , instead she went to the ringtone volume reduce the volume to 0 and went straight to the guy browser found the GTB and send out money because the cookies and cache are still stored there and most cases some people save there login details in the draft message which is very bad , you see how my friend lost 50k from OSHODI to IYANAPAJA the gal alighted .

2). don't check your online banking account at cyber cafes because there are password stealers in all cyber cafes ,.I MEAN IT ALL if you think its a lie ask Cyber cafe engineers they know how to view people's details through the private computer that controls the rest

3). don't give out your details through emails or text messages or phone calls

4). INSIDERS the worst, insiders means people working inside the bank they can steal your money themselves .,am sure you don't believe this but any banker that read this knows their are crooks among them ., example you won't see any banker leave its own system open for 1 minute without being there because his fellow colleagues can use his own computer to send money out of someones account to another place since the person whose computer they use will be held responsible and some others go to the bank earlier than others to insert a pen key logger at the back of other colleagues pc and they do the rest on another pc

Most bankers are crooks ask those that receive western union control all the time , if you enter the wrong bank the cashier will tell you the money had already being picked whereas he picked it up or he says match not found immediately you step out he process it and cash it

5). HACKERS , hackers can hack into any website at anytime if they really want to hack the website and they make it as target ,they'll keep watching over it till the right time comes , right time means maybe when the bank is upgrading their system and all necessary security software are not yet installed .,recently CHASE BANK was hacked and the hackers stole over 1000 people's identity ., this can also happen at anytime to any NIGERIA BANKS

OVERALL the internet is not safe , Only you the user can secure yourself

Car TalkRe: by purefella(m): 12:23am On May 08, 2012
Why women are worst drivers is that most of them can't stay focused for a longer time without doing other silly things like talking , looking around if they can see fresh fish to buy while driving and once they see anything they go for it forgetting they are on the road , they just hit the break with their frog little legs , they are also good at doing a lot other funny stuffs and mostly study any female drivers the perfect time for her to make a mistake while driving is when she passed beside the market and she sees fresh tomatoes or whenever she passed beside where they are selling clothes like ankara , lace that goes for older women ,if it's our ladies let them drive pass in-front of big boutique that has a lot female wears hanged outside grin cheesy grin
