Jejelaye01: My people my people. I can tell you that all the stress we went through towards getting this trv is worth it. I flew egyptair from lag. There was no tension in lag airport when checking in and my load was way over the allowed kg but spoke my way through. No return ticket was asked cz I showed them the payment advice to my school. Lag to Cairo was smooth as we were served a meal within 2hrs of takeoff and light refreshment like an hour to landing. On getting to Cairo my luggage was checked (please don't carry anything seafood or kilish). The flight from cairo to Toronto took us 11hrs and it was smooth and we were served 2 meals(the first was within an hour of take off and the second was 2hrs to landing). We were given vip treatment all through the flight and on getting to pearson international airport where I am currently giving this update,I was treated like king... everything went smoothly and I wasn't asked anything except my school admission letter. Also.... I was able to carry a backpack with a mini travelling box as hand luggage. Will update the house later once I get settled in regina.
Regards.
God bless you for this update. I going with egypt air too. When you say seafood, is dry fish and crayfish still considered as seafood ![angry](https://www.nairaland.com/faces/angry.png) . I have bought them in tangible quantity already. |

raskid: Hey bro, I can assist you or anyone coming to london this September with short term accomodation. Send me an email or add on whatsapp 2264562449. More so when you land in Toronto you can take the Robert q bus at the airport to london. Or if you can go to greyhound it much cheaper I think. Note I'm a Fanshawe college student not western. God bless you so much ma. I am actually a lady ![grin](https://www.nairaland.com/faces/grin.png) . I will contact you shortly. |

omojehovah:
Good day boss,
I got an email request from CiC on july 27th, to submit a new LOA and proof of funding letter from my sponsor (deadline is today). I eventually got the new proof of funding letter from my sponsor last week friday, but I couldn't submit through my CIC acc because there was no upload tab to click after click on the view my application tab as directed by CiC on my request letter. I however submitted the requested docs via email and CSE and also sent a technical issue report (for not being able to submit through my CiC acc). My question is "is there a procedure I have to follow to submit through my CiC acc apart from clicking on view my application tab and following the instructions there? If you were asked to upload it to your account, then you should do so to avoid stories. Simply scroll down to the page of your correspondence, you will see "view my submitted application". Once the page opens, scroll down to supporting documents and you will see a column to upload. Please quickly do that NOW! I wish you the best 1 Like |

poesy: Approved! Glory be to God! I was going to wait until I pick up my passport from VFS before sharing my profile but I'll go ahead and share my testimony, anyway.
Going for MA (Thesis based) at UWO - Fall 2017
Background BA (2011) Work experience in my field; self-employed since December 2016
Timeline
Online application 1st July (Upfront Medicals) Biometrics 5th July Review of Eligibility/Medicals Passed/Passport Request 17th August Passport Submission 18th August (yet to be picked up) Correspondence Letter/Document Status 24th August
Submitted:
All CIC documents
1 page SOP (short and straight to the point - Why I want to study in Canada, rationale behind my choice of school, my research interests, how I'm going to apply the knowledge gained to my career when I return to Nigeria and my source of funding)
Admission letter + email to me from the school, acknowledging receipt of original transcript (it was a condition of admission)
Funding Letter from School (Tuition)
1 page Letter of Funding from Parents (Living Expenses)
Parents' financial docs - bank statement, employment letter and payslips
Obstacles that I overcame
My full name (first name, initials and surname) on my birth certificate and admission letter is ABCD. However, on my passport and other documents, it is ACD. On the form where it asked if you've ever gone by any other name, I listed both versions of my name.
A bulk sum of money was transferred from my parents' former employers the day before I submitted. (The reason for my 'late' submission) To avoid suspicion of money lodgement, I included a letter from the employer to my parents informing them that it was their end of service package (the truth). My parents' SOP also addressed this transfer and its intended use towards my living expenses.
There is no doubt in my mind that doing upfront medicals saved me time. The day I went for my medicals coincided with the 1st day of my cycle and I was not allowed to give certain samples until more than a week later. Imagine if this had happened in August. Ladies, take note of this.
Home Tie - To be honest, this is something I don't fully understand. All I did was state in my SOP conclusion that I would be eager to return to my family after studies.
Travel history - I was denied a UK visa 6 years ago, which I stated. However I included my granted visas to an EU country (10 years ago) and an East African country (5 years ago)
So there you have it; I submitted what CIC specifically asked me to submit and provided explanation and additional documents where necessary. A few documents may have delayed me but I worked on other parts of my application during the interim. All in all, I thank God, because it is truly His doing. I also thank you Nairalanders for sharing your experience and resources with me. Wishing everyone the best of luck!
Glory!!! Congrats dear. Oya make we connect. Can you inbox me you no? Quickly book your flight sis. |

SPOILT9JAOLOSHO: Please oh make una help with this, a friend needs it, must one pay any fee b4 uploading request letter from CIC, & how do one knw the upload was successful, where can it be checked de upload went well. You will not pay. That prompt request for payment is just a default setting. You are successful when the page tells that your upload was successful and that is after you have signed your name. |

CanadianNurse: those jackets are quite weighty to carry.... You will need to pay 50 pounds for excess baggage(royal air Maroc)... I'll advice you just get warm clothes while you can get the winter jacket in Canada
My thoughts though... Thank you Canadian nurse. Your advice was my initial thought but a friend advised me to get just one jacket and I can hang it on my arm and board without packing it inside the box. I am very susceptible to cold and according to Ayoola03, it's a bit chilly at night presently. I just want to get one but don't know the price. |
