bestview: These are only two greatest African known by the outside world for their contribution to humanity.

Chinua Achebe of Nigeria

Nelson Mandela of South Africa
TKO lmao. Mandela didn't know Achebe cheesy

Only PR cheesy
PoliticsRe: Wole Soyinka's Interview About Chinua Achebe by purpleclouds: 2:54pm On May 19, 2013
bestview: That is the final straw that sank this envious never-do well people. grin grin

Mandela knows Achebe but he doesn't. There is no Nigerian that did not pass through Achebe works, same cannot be said of that jobless old fool.

Achebe's works broke borders, other countries of the world could see and read it. Achebe is the champion of Africa.
She's being ignorant for the sake of it. If he is a nobody why would Mandela make a statement on his passing, what's the point of "PR" for someone you claim is unknown? The lies don't even make sense anymore lol
PoliticsRe: Wole Soyinka's Interview About Chinua Achebe by purpleclouds: 2:46pm On May 19, 2013
sweetcheecks: Seriously? This was a PR exercise! Are you kidding me you people are gullable. Mandela probably does not even know who or what Chinebe was. Duh!!! Now you sit Boobo sit!! Good dog!
If he doesn't know who he is why make a statement on his passing? Lots of people die, lots of famous Africans die why no statement from Mandela if its just "PR".

Even with the fall of apartheid you people still receive substandard education lmao.
PoliticsRe: Wole Soyinka's Interview About Chinua Achebe by purpleclouds: 2:16pm On May 19, 2013
sweetcheecks: Most influential African writer! How? To whom?
To your former president Nelson Mandela:

A statement of the Nelson Mandela Centre of Memory said it offered its condolences to the Achebe family.

The former South African president and anti-apartheid fighter, who spent 27 years in jail, "referred to Prof Achebe as a writer 'in whose company the prison walls fell down'",the statement said.

Now please exit stage right.cheesy

You don't know Achebe but Mandela does. Wonders will never end...

Um, yes they were. They had to get approval from colonial governments to come huh

May I ask what it really is that you are trying to say. I see all these flowery words but I'm not seeing anything behind said words. In my humble opinion, I personally think that you do not believe that the Igbo-Ukwu can be attributed to the Nri people and by extention Igbo people in the area.

You keep bringing up the Igala people as though, despite all your shadiness about the whole matter, you believe the works should be attributed more to them than anything else.

Add to the fact a few 'akward' comments you have made and directed towards Igbo people adds to my overall hunch about your motives.

Whatever floats your boat dear, but do not think you are fooling anyone under the guise of 'knowledge'

2008 is new in Nigeria's term dear.

PS: The you have the newer pictures then? Most of the "nice" Nigerian pictures you see online are older than 2008. So wake up and smell the palm wine.
Bold. Texas education at work cool

I don't know, you rather dig up old photos and claim them as being shot yesterday so ride on cheesy

Furthermore you said that the picture was of a newly constructed road. Can you point that out where that was said too, or is that an invisible Nigerian term grin Jesus dirty heffas can lie grin
PoliticsRe: The Dirtiness That "Is" Nigeria by purpleclouds: 2:03am On Apr 29, 2013
Texas.Cowgirl:
True.

I think we also have many Nigerians who escapes the filth (ex: moving from Abia to Banana Island) only to forget that their reality is a dream for many others (this is likely Rossik's case).

Everybody wants to claim Lagos, no one wants to clean up Nigeria.
Claim Lagos is that hell hole any better tongue from frying pan to fire tongue

PoliticsRe: Lagos To Fine Drivers Without LASDRI Licence by purpleclouds:
Gooogle: If not for the economic situation, the drivers license thing should be reviewed.
To get a drivers license in some european countries and even the US is not childs play and the amount
of fees you even pay is somethng else.A country charges an equivalent of 250k in naira for this with examinations etc.
The ultimate reason for this is all about safety and good to know, it starts with the big companies.
They should abeg pay
That's not true at all. I recently got my license in the US and it was a simple sight test and road test and proof of insurance. I only had to pay for the license which was a small fee.

PoliticsRe: Okonjo-Iweala Denies Pursuing Igbo Agenda Allegation by purpleclouds: 12:08am On Apr 16, 2013
nagoma: I never advocated for north to present a candidate. It's you who assumed that Yaradua was selected by the north. He was a PDP candidate and they rigged him into power. Military junta you would agree with me were selected by the military and all parts of the country are in the military. Aikhomu, Diya , mobolaji Johnson, akinwele Way, OBJ and thousands of others will know the answer far better than me. They and their families benefitted more from the military governments than me or my family and they are southerners.

Politicians in every democratic country have gentlemen's agreement and if they know what honor means ! They stick to those agreements. If they are not men of honor they breech the agreements. It is not new and I am not surprised this increased the mistrust and suspicion in the country. Similar agreement happened when OBJ contested. There was no northern candidate in PDP.
I may not agree entirely but I respect your opinion.
So what if PDP has a Northern candidate the North agrees with but loses to a Southerner from another party would you consider that fair?

nagoma: 1. WHO guidelines are prepared by highly qualified expert Doctors. But they are guidelines.
2. Qualification is always overshadowed by other interests in PDP. Yar'Adua was selected because he was terminally Ill with a kidney transplant and on immunotharapy to prevent rejection. He fitted obasanjo's plan and he was actually A decoy and a southern candidate. He was not presented by the north.
3. I am a quota teacher.
2 out of 3 not bad cheesy

Why is the North presenting leaders? Is that how elections are normally run?
I thought parties run not regions, plus the fact that military juntas lead by the North were in vogue for a while wouldn't you say its fair for others to get a turn? Also though PDP agreed on a rotational arangement, that arangement was never enshrined in the constitution.

What say you?
