justmondris: Nigeria secures largest-ever military aircraft acquisition in West Africa with 24 M-346FA jets
It’s like this current government is preparing us for a proxy war against the Sahel states. So na we one help France fight their war because it’s obvious you don’t need to buy 24 jets to fight terrorists.
helinues: The issue with this EFCC boss is his gra gra. Just like Yahaya Bello, the case will die slowly.
Instead of the charade media persecution, negotiate with them to return the funds embezzled. Win win for everyone.
The EFCC prosecution have not been working for money embezzlement or money laundering as the politicians will either bribe their way at the court or use political instrument to get pardon
Ofunaofu: The man who stole over 86 billion naira is walking free and marrying new wives, even after the EFCC chairman swore that he would either be prosecuted and jailed or he resign from office.
blackmercyvelli: Let this innocent man go home with peace, go and arrest yahaya bello who swallowing 120 billions
edungene7: What of yahaya Bello Join the APC and all your atrocities shall be forgiven. Adams oshomole APC bandit chairman. We are watching nah turn by turn.
Yayah Bello's case is in court, his trial is ongoing. The job of EFCC is to take suspects to court for trial and if the court granted them bail, what do you want the EFCC to do?. Stop blaming the EFCC as if they are the court of law.
Sometimes I laugh so hard when I hear some ignoramuses say Tinubu is afraid of the North. This is not even about Tinubu vs North but about fairness across the regions and it takes a man who is fearless to achieve all these. Tinubu brought back CBN's administrative department to Lagos for seamless and much easier financial operations.
Tinubu decentralized Aviation Academy from Kaduna to all the six geopolitical zones in Nigeria.
Tinubu decentralized Army Depot from the North to other parts of the country. Earlier this year, Tinubu ordered the establishment of a new army depot in Oshogbo, now , he has approved another one in Abakaliki.
These moves above are what were ordinarily very tough for past Presidents from the South to do. Not even the mouthy OBJ could decentralize these powerful and influential institutions from the North. But here we are, Tinubu is doing it and spreading these vital institutions across board to reflect equality and fairness.
And he is even making these moves in his first term, not minding his reelection. A scared President would have considered his reelection and would then start to apply the moves in his second term.
A President that has not even addressed Trump or had an audience with the US delegates when they came to Nigeria despite all their huffing and puffing, does such a man look like a joke to you?.
Let me say, I'm very happy Tinubu is the man in power and not GEJ, I want to see how those coalition of failures want to dethrone Jagaban out of power. I only pity wailers and Bitter Obidients who are their delusional supporters, they will suffer HBP by 2027.
If you want to see how corrupt Atiku is, read "My Watch" written by his boss, OBJ. If you want to see how corrupt Elrufai is, go to Kaduna and find out what happened to the $350m world bank loan he borrowed, does Kaduna look like a state that $10m was spent on infrastructure, much less $350m. If you want to see how corrupt Ameachi is, go to NDDC and open the record how his wife was NDDC contractor collecting millions monthly for shady contracts while Ameachi was minister. If you want to know how corrupt David Mark is, travel to his home town in Otupo, there's no tarred road to his village and he was Senate President for 8 years. If you want to see how corrupt Aregbesola is, travel to Osun state and ask workers he was paying half salaries, even as a minister, his only achievement was announcing public holidays. If you want to see how corrupt Peter Obi is, go to Anambra, you will not find any of his private businesses there, he sited his businesses out of Anambra to Lagos, Porthacourt and Abuja, as if the people of Anambra are not good enough to benefit from his business or be employed in his business. The only beer factory he set up was owned by private investors he helped to facilitate to Anambra state, while also having personal shares in the business. It explains why he invested states funds into the business. You can also see from the Pañdóra report how he hid looted funds under the names of his children abroad. So, if these corrupt vultures are defending Malami, are you surprised?.
There have been more than 300 mass shootings in the United States so far this year, according to the Gun Violence Archive, which defines a mass shooting as four or more people shot.
The same Almighty US that wailers are hoping on for salvation and deliverance, bunch of 🤡🤡🤡. 300 mass shootings, then what makes US different from a country at war?. It's even the shouting and the gallivanting and the facade of US senators like Riley Moore, Ted Cruz, the hypocrisy of Mike Arnold and Nikki Minaj & co. You would think that these interlopers have no insecurity issues in their own country before poking their nose in Nigeria and South Africa. I pity wailers and Bitter Obidients, they have chosen the wrong side of history. Maybe Tinubu should invade the US gun-a-blazing to save the lives of American Christians.
On Saturday, investigators said they were not immediately sure how the suspect got inside the first-floor classroom.
Outer doors of the building were unlocked but rooms being used for final exams required badge access, Mayor of Providence Brett Smiley said.
Two students, who were studying in a nearby library when the active gunman alert came through, told the BBC they "stayed away from the windows" as they awaited a police escort.
Officers searched the floor, made them drop their bags and raise their hands before before being led out of the library, the pair said.
Brown University, one of the oldest higher education institutions in the US, is part of the Ivy League, a group of elite universities in the northeast of the country.
The university, which has more than 11,000 students, is in Providence, Rhode Island's capital city, which is located about 50 miles (80km) from Boston and 180 miles (290km) from New York City.
Who are the victims?
Two students were killed in the incident and nine others were injured.
Smiley told reporters on Sunday that one person was in a critical condition and seven others were in a stable condition in hospital. One person with less severe injuries was discharged, he added.
The identities of those killed or most of those injured have not yet been released, but Brown University President Christina Paxson told reporters in a press briefing that all the victims, including those killed and wounded, were students.
"This is a day that we hoped never would come to our community. It is deeply devastating for all of us," she said in a statement.
Everyone says it'll never be me' - Brown University student on surviving two mass shootings
In a statement on Sunday, the university said that the families of the two students killed were being supported.
"There are not enough words of comfort for families who lose a child, but we will do all we can," Prof Paxson said.
On Sunday, the head of Durham Academy, a private school in North Carolina, said one of their alumna, Kendall Turner, was injured in the attack, US media reported.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with Kendall, her family, and all members of the Brown University community during this incredibly difficult time," said Michael Ulku-Steiner in an email to staff.
According to police, a ninth victim did not suffer a gunshot wound, but had non-life threatening injuries from fragments from a shooting "that had occurred near them".
Who is the gunman?
The investigation is ongoing and authorities are searching for additional video evidence that could help them track down the suspect.
On Sunday, officials said they had taken a person of interest into custody, but later released them because they did not think that person was the same individual who was seen in CCTV footage.
That footage showed of a male suspect, walking away from the scene of the shooting wearing all black clothing.
There is no weapon visible in the video, and his face is covered. Officials also say a firearm was not found in a sweep of the building.
Some witnesses reportedly told officers he may have been wearing a camouflage grey mask.
One person was arrested before police determined they were not involved in the shooting and released them.
What is the latest?
In a statement released by the university on Sunday, Prof Paxson said some areas of campus are still restricted as police continued their investigations.
She said around 2,000 students were relocated to safe locations the previous, adding that she was "deeply moved" by students and locals who opened up their homes.
Brown University said all remaining exams, papers and projects would not take place as scheduled.
US President Donald Trump, speaking to reporters as he returned to the White House from attending the annual Army and Navy football game, described the shooting as "a terrible thing".
"All we can do right now is pray for the victims and for those that were very badly hurt," he said.
There have been more than 300 mass shootings in the United States so far this year, according to the Gun Violence Archive, which defines a mass shooting as four or more people shot.
PDPdestroyer: Hehehe. You’re very right, my Obidient neighbour has been experiencing big fluctuations in his blood pressure since these defections started. The last time he had a blood pressure within normal limits was the week the ADC coalition was announced
My Obidient neighbor, anytime he's eating and I mention Tinubu, he runs away leaving his food behind. His wife has not been happy with me. Tinubu's name has been favouring me, I eat to my satisfaction.
This is the kind of news that wailers and Bitter Obidients do not want to see. But no matter their pains, bitterness and hate, they will never win the election and their Gbajue will never become President.
A former Minister of Aviation, Senator Stella Oduah, on Wednesday, was arraigned before the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory in Maitama, Abuja, by the Federal Government over allegations bordering on corruption in the sum of N5 billion.
In a court sitting attended by our correspondent, she was arraigned by the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Prince Lateef Fagbemi, on five counts bordering on conspiracy and obtaining money by false pretences.
In one of the counts, Stella Oduah was accused of obtaining by fraudulent pretences a sum of N2.4 billion through Broad Waters Resources from the Federal Ministry of Aviation.
She was said to have fraudulently claimed that the money was the cost of technical supervision. The fraud was said to have been committed in January 2014.
In one of the counts, Oduah was accused of fraudulently obtaining the sum of ₦2.4 billion through a company, Broad Waters Resources, from the Federal Ministry of Aviation under the pretence that the funds were for technical supervision.
In other counts, she was alleged to have collected ₦1.6 billion and another ₦839 million using similar means, contrary to provisions of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud-Related Offences Act.
The former minister was arraigned alongside a co-defendant, Gloria Odita. Both defendants pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
Oduah was represented at the arraignment by Onyechi Ikpeazu (SAN), while Wale Balogun (SAN) appeared for Odita.
Justice Hamza Muazu admitted Oduah to bail on self-recognition but ordered her to deposit her international passport with the court. The judge also directed that she must not travel out of the country without the permission of the court.
This is the second time the Federal Government is prosecuting Oduah over the matter. An earlier case filed at the Federal High Court, Abuja, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission against her was withdrawn.
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has declared that he has no regrets backing President Bola Tinubu, maintaining that his support for the President has remained unwavering before, during, and after the 2023 general election.
Wike stated this during a special event held to celebrate his 58th birthday at his residence in Abuja on Saturday.
According to a statement issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, the Minister said his political choices have always been rooted in “character and integrity.”
Reflecting on his decision to support Tinubu, Wike said he stood out as the only leading member of the opposition who publicly endorsed the President’s candidacy in the lead-up to the 2023 election.
He explained that his stance was guided by the principle of equity and the need for power rotation to the South.
“I never hid my support for President Tinubu. My position was based on equity, fairness, and justice. I believed power should shift to the South, and I stood by that,” Wike stated.
The Minister further pointed to his political influence during the 2023 elections in Rivers State, saying his leadership delivered the presidential election to the All Progressives Congress (APC), while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) won other positions including the National Assembly, governorship, and local elections.
The birthday celebration drew prominent political figures across party lines. In attendance were National Assembly members from Rivers State, the Rivers State House of Assembly led by Speaker Martins Amaewhule, local government chairmen, and several past and present political associates.
They took turns to commend the Minister’s contributions to politics and governance.
Former PDP chairman and Rivers Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Ambassador Desmond Akawor, described Wike as the “naked wire” of Rivers politics.
“President Tinubu picked the right product from the PDP,” Akawor noted, referencing Wike’s political clout.
Speaker Amaewhule, who led 27 lawmakers to the event, praised Wike’s leadership.
“Wherever our leader (Wike) goes, we will follow him; whoever he is supporting, we will also support,” he said.
Responding to the tributes, Wike expressed appreciation to his political allies and supporters for standing by him.
He reiterated his commitment to working closely with his people in Rivers and at the national level.
“Criticism and abuses keep me going. I have never been bothered by them,” he said.
The event concluded with special prayers for the Minister and his family.
Notable guests at the event included PDP National Caretaker Committee Chairman Mohammed Abdulrahman, PDP BOT Chairman Senator Mao Ohuabunwa, South-South Vice Chairman Chief Dan Orbih, APC chieftain Hon Victor Giadom, former Abia Governor Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, Senator Sandy Onor, Senator Magnus Abe, Senator George Sekibo, and Senator Bari Mpigi, among others.
I like seeing wailers come up with all sorts of trash talks about Wike being relegated, wailers saying all these nonsense just to console themselves and make themselves happy unnecessarily. That's the same way they were being delusional that Shettima had been relegated but today they have gone mute on that agenda seeing that Shettima is the most active VP in the history of Nigeria, representing the President on several official assignments both within and outside the country. I love how Tinubu keeps embarrassing wailers, he will keep increasing your HBP. Happy Birthday to our Abuja landlord and congratulations to Ambassador Reno Omokri.
Nonsense headline. The Presidential pardon was not the case before the Supreme Court, the Supreme Court gave judgement on an appeal before it. The constitution has given the President the powers for prerogative of mercy regardless the judgement of any court of the land. If the President still considered the woman pardoned, she's pardoned.
Amumaigwe: May sense fall on you. Obi asked a rhetorical question to buttress his belief that Islam is really not synonymous with begging as Nigeria's case seem to suggest with the Alimajiri system. But you guys are free to twist it to suit any narrative of your choosing. If you vote Obi, you win. If you don't vote him, only you will still loose. Obi gains or looses nothing if he becomes president. He has said again and again that he is not desperate to become president, but to see Nigeria work. Suit yourselves.
Lol, he's not desperate, tell that to Eye..Pöb. After voting him in Anambra, the only thing he gave you was a brewery that has helped you drink your future away.
Christmyhope: To be sincere, obi didn't mean any harms. He made innocent submission.
Innocent submission?. Why did he link begging to Islamic culture?. As old as he is, does he not know that the kids begging are as s result of poverty?. If begging is part of Islamic culture, why are Muslims in SW not practicing almajiri?. That bigot can't separate religion from poverty & lack of education.
Why is our own situation in Nigeria different?. According to Obi, why is begging part of Muslim Culture in Nigeria and why are Muslims in Nigeria not tolerant of their Christian counterpart like in Indonesia.
Some people defending Obi are not intellectually smart. Obi knows begging is not part of Islamic culture but he deliberately asked such silly question to denigrate Muslims in Nigeria.
How about his observation of the statue of Mary at the Sultan's residence in Indonesia, implying Muslims in Nigeria are less tolerant compared to Indonesia. The question is, how many Islamic symbols would you find at a Priest's residence in Nigeria?. Even Obi himself, how many of such Islamic symbols does he have at home?.
This is not the first time Peter Obi has made controversial remarks about Muslims. Shortly before the presidential election, Obi was captured on audio asking Oyedepo to help mobilise Christian voters, particularly in the north-central states of Kwara, Kogi, and Niger. In the conversation, he described the election as a religious war. At one point, he said: “Daddy, I need you to speak to your people in the south-west and Kwara, the Christians in the south-west and Kwara. This is a religious war. Like I keep saying: if this works, you people will never regret the support.” A religious bigot to the core.
Peter Obi, sparked fresh controversy as he labelled Nigerian Muslims beggars and claimed begging is part of Islamic culture
In a now-viral video, the former Anambra governor, speaking at an event, shared an experience from one of his visits to Indonesia.
Obi said that during the visit, he asked some Muslims there—along with the Indonesian president—why no almajiri or people were begging on the streets, as is often seen in Nigeria.
“In Indonesia, I met everyone, from ministers to the vice president and even the president. Indonesia has the largest Muslim population in the world. When we were there, I turned to the two Muslims with me, and I asked the leaders: ‘Do you have Almajiri children here?’ They said, ‘No.’
"So I asked the president, "Why don’t you have children begging on the streets? Isn’t it part of Muslim culture?"
According to him, the president replied: “Why would they be begging? They are educated. Educate your people and they become productive.”
He also recalled visiting the Sultan’s residence, where he noticed a large statue of Jesus Christ and the Virgin Mary. Surprised, he asked why such Christian symbols were displayed in the home of a Muslim leader. The response he got was simple: “It was a gift, and it is a good statue.”
Obi then asked a pointed question: “So why is our own situation in Nigeria so different?”
Predictor3: Well, it's your funeral wether you are Yoruba or not. But you don't need to deny your own tribe because of Peter Obi. Like I told you, I have the video. Stop twisting things. These politicians you are asslicking don't know you.
As it is your funeral to dey carry múmù confidence dey attach tribe to somebody. You have the video wey no get audio. Typical h3adléss mob.
Predictor3: Stop twisting what was said. I have the video on my phone. I'm Yoruba like you (that's if you are one anyway) but why should I twist what another man said all because of election? The omoluabi ethos our fathers handed over to us doesn't permit that. Let's take this tribal thing easy. We are above this.
Nowhere in the video did he say Nigerian Muslims are beggars. He talked about the almajiri system and said we could do better like Indonesia which is also a Muslim country, even more Islamic than Nigeria. He made a valid point. Sanusi has made the same point many times and nobody said anything.
Don't let this APC thingy turn us to something else.
If I don't support PitaObi or I criticise him, does that make me Yoruba?, you must be nuts. Like I said, if you haven't eaten enough to buy data to watch the video, go and borrow data, and then, use cotton bud to clean your ear canal so you can hear him well.
Security forces in Niger State have carried out a major operation against a militant hideout in Borgu Local Government Area, reportedly killing more than 40 armed fighters.

Bakatsine noted that the security team stormed the hideout and engaged the armed group, leading to the deaths of over 40 militants.
“Security forces in Niger State conducted a major operation in Lakurawa hideout camp under the leadership of Amir Tajuddeen in Borgu LGA. Over 40 armed militants were reportedly killed during the raid.,” Bakatsine wrote.
