Firstly, I am not Igbo and I have no root in Igbo land, both my parents are typical Yorubas but I cannot stand by and you people continuously cause division amongst the ethnic groups in Nigeria. Enough is enough.
Now, for asking what is the meaning Ori oju Ori lo, it shows you're not a Yoruba at all. I put it to you again that Ori oju Ori lo constitutionally between you and Igbos that are migrating to any part of the country. The constitution gave equal rights to every citizens of Nigeria, so far you're not a foreigner and you don't naturalized yourself to the country. So telling Igbos to leave Lagos is anti constitution and you suppose to be arrested for that. A day will come that we will have a no nonsense president that would not tolerate breaching of the constitution, so that many of you will taste the wrath of the law as to reset your brain.
I reiterate, start fighting for your state, let those that own Lagos, the real omo eko do their job by themselves, except they call you to come and do it for them. Lagos is not the only south west states in Nigeria, you people chocho is too much about Lagos, face your state and let the real indigene breathe. A ti pe yin, iso alata lawa, a ti de iso onila.

*Letthereallagosiansbreathe*
Do I have to tell you omo Ibo that I am from Lagos?

If you put mouth for any Yorubaland..Ibadan,Ogun,Ekiti etc matter,I will still call you to order because they are all Yorubaland.
No,I am from Enugu.

Go back to your Igboland and stop putting mouth inside Yoruba matter.
Igboland is different from Yorubaland,olofofo.

That's why we tell you that Baba ati omo Ko le ni oko Ko ma ni ala. If you agree that SanwoOlu can deport you to your own state, then, why do you think it is your duty to flex muscles to want to be fighting the cause that doesn't concern you for Lagos? It means, you have no say on the political configuration of Lagos State but just a migrant like others you maligned. If SanwoOlu sees you as one miscreant that he can deport to your state, then, why do you think you have a say?
Face the reality, you guys are just overstretching your bounds on Lagos issue. The chocho is too much.

*Letthereallagosiansbreathe*
Go back to Igboland and leave Yorubaland matter for Yorubas.
Stop doung cho cho cho on what is beyond you.

You cannot be more Lagosian than the owner of the land. Stop poking your nose on a matter of Lagos State because you cannot be oshoko and be an oshaka at the same time. Go back to your state and start fighting for her prosperity than dwelling and exerting energy on another people's affair. That's roforofo and akproko in style. Leave the real Omo Eko to do their bidding by themselves, you're not hired to fight for them. I know many of you have not questioned the government of your state for once but do chocho on issue that relates to Lagos. Are you not tired of such? As you're migrants in Lagos, so the Igbos are also migrants constitutionally. Ori oju Ori lo.
Omo ibo cheesy
What is Ori oju Ori lo. grin
Go back to Igboland and stop poking nose into Yoruba matter that concerns you not.
Ok,I am from Ekiti abi na Ogbomosho you give me.
My joy is that they are all in Yorubaland like Lagos, governed and owned by Yorubas.

Stop cho cho cho in Yoruba matters, sir.
Go back to Imo,Anambra,Ebonyi,Abia,Enugu...these are the places where your root is...go and shook mouth in Igboland matter.
Yoruba matter doesnt concern Okpoko miscreants.

IfnobeGod20:

At the beginning of your comment you rant to inflame fire and brimstone but at the latter end of your comment you appear gentle, this shows that you're not a real indigene of Lagos. The real indigene of Lagos have this special identities that non Lagosians have. They don't assume too much air and they are gentle and culturally admire, unlike the migrants from Osun, Oyo, Ogun and Ekiti that want and have been capitalising on their gentility to subdue them politically and that is why they don't want to give them voice.
Let me dwell small on the saga of deportation of Osun indigene. Must you lie to cover up the obvious. Even the state government herself said they deported Osun indigene and named them miscreants. Here below is a link right from Bayo Onanuga's online news that gave life to the deportation
https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&opi=89978449&url=https://pmnewsnigeria.com/2024/05/07/lagos-confirms-deportation-of-some-people-to-osun/&ved=2ahUKEwi9-ey7qvaHAxVZW0EAHSMHM7AQFnoECBQQAQ&usg=AOvVaw0GJ5m_QPqQTS6Mq0h_EXz1
While you that is just a supporter vouching for what you're ignorant of.

SanwoOlu even promised that such exercise will continue in his news brief about the deportation.
https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&opi=89978449&url=https://www.thecable.ng/to-keep-citizens-secure-lagos-says-deportation-of-destitute-will-continue/&ved=2ahUKEwi9-ey7qvaHAxVZW0EAHSMHM7AQFnoECBIQAQ&usg=AOvVaw134mPTE_uns_6Ff6U_84u3.
Continue foaming like rabid dog while those you're supporting go contrary to what you believe.
Yes, Lagos is a Yoruba land and no sensible person will disclaim that because the political configuration had made it to be so. This is liken to the scenario of Kogi and Kwara that are politically designated as North central but in real sense their culture and way of life defer to where they politically put them.
Omo ati baba Ko le ni oko Ko ma ni ala. You cannot continue claiming you're Lagosian but those that doesn't have any other state they can call their own cannot go to a place like Osun and be governor or Ondo to be minister. You come to Lagos be all what you want but still go back to your ancestral state to be governor but a real Lagosian cannot. Now, let Agbaje go to Ogun and say he wants to be governor there, he will be shown his ancestral origin.
Lagos indigene have tolerated this mess too long and until they out their act together and fight for their political survival that other Yoruba migrants have subjected them to on their own land. They used different political gimmicks to override them and turn them to political slaves in their land.
That aside, Nigeria is an egalitarian society and a constitutional country. Every Nigerians have the liberty to live wherever they want and no Nigerian can at any time stand and say a set of people should leave a particular place, that is going against the constitution of the land. That's why I say you only rant like rabid dog at the beginning of your comment. I see that many of you are knowledgeable but lacked common sense to articulate the letter of the constitution that binds us together.
Let the Igbo, Hausa, Ijaw, Itshekiri, Obolo, Fulani and the rest tribes live without intimidation of any unpatriotic elements in the society.
You can rant as you like.
Are you a Yoruba Lagosian,I mean indigene?
If you are not but an Okpoko miscreant,go back to Igboland and let Yorubas settle their grievances the way they see fit.
Sanwo Olu is from Ogun state but his parents have been here more than 100 yrs.
As a Lagosian,I know some Obas that have Kwara,Awori blood in them.
Some Obas of Lagos have Ijesha and Bini blood in them. There are things you dont know.
Even if it is probable that an indigene has to become the governor, one has to work for it not rant.

Go back to your Okpoko in Igboland and stop cho cho cho in Yoruba matters.

People that are not from Lagos are the ones causing nuisance offline and online.

When you hear them saying or typing things like 'everyone should go to their state 'bla bla bla just know they are the one .some of them don't even know where they come from
Even if it is people from Benin Republic and they are Yoruba, they can tell you to go back to Igboland if you dont respect and live amicably with your hosts.
Yorubaland is Yorubaland and nobody can tell a Yoruba man to leave his motherland.

When the guy that posted Igbo must go posted it,he didnt say Anambra or Ebonyi Igbo because he knows that Igbo is Igbo.
When they are deported to Okpoko, they can sort themselves out. grin

When they alleged that Sanwo Olu (from Ogun state) deported some Osun guys (we just read it in the news but sane people did not believe it), it just died natural death because it was probably a political propaganda.
Unlike when Igbos miscreants were deported to Igboland in the middle of the night,we all saw the brouhaha that followed it for months.

This one too, just one foolish tweet and Igboland and its people have started shitting for body. grin

I am a Lagosian from Agbole Mogaji in the Island and all of us know that this group is a loser in the scheme of things in the politics of Lagos.
There are a lot of indigenes on the winning side too and this is why they will continue to rant. They must play positively to be counted.

It is mostly the slave returnees descendants that make the most noise.
Most of their grannies, just like mine, came from Ife,Oyo,Ijesha,Kwara,Ogun,Ekiti etc.
Lagos was one of the youngest Yorubaland and no Yoruba will stay aloof while it burns.
All tribes are welcome in Lagos but let us live together amicably.

Politics / Re: Fund Allocations To Regions By Colonial Government In 1956 by Putinofrussia: 6:37pm On Aug 13
vanbonattel:
There must be reasons for the low allocation to the west but the OP may craftily remove that one and post the one most relevant to his bigotry objectives.

The West may have been an area with very little population, and probably produced or sent noting to the federal government. Maybe the 500 they were giving them is just to sustain them. We all knew that most of the resources came from the East and North, the West was just used as an export route to the sea, if not, there wouldn't have been rail tracks passing through the whole region.

The current federal sharing formula which aims to seize resources like gas and oil from the east and south to feed the West and north is favoring the west mainly. Notice how the west panicks each time the east or north talks about secession, they know that as soon as Nigeria end, the west will return to Benin Republic or Burkina Faso levels.
The colonialists knew that SW was the most resourceful region and almost did not need handouts and palliatives like the other regions who rely heavily on handouts.
Remember that the SW loaned Nigeria..Igbo and Hausa fulani....12 million pounds in order for them to survive then.

They borrowed to buy the TV station. And built a few brown roofs.
You should be worried about the massive brown roofs in Igboland with a tiny land mass.
Small land,massive underdevelopment.
Even till date,Ibadan is still more developed infrastructurally than the entire 5 SE states combined.

Emekaonline:
Please look at the fund allocations by the Colonial Government in 1956.

The West that collected least then was the most developed region, kudos to the late sage Obafemi Awolowo. It is time for the South West to retrace its steps to those economic activities that brought development to the region without depending on the allocation from the colonial masters or the Federal Government. The Governors should now use our resources for the benefit of the people and overall development of the South West and leave other regions to pauperise their region as they wish

SW had long been marginalised and discriminated against but they always come out as the top of the pack.
No matter what you do to them, they excel, triumph and overcome.

You had to add olodo to show your level of upbringing.

When you copy solutions from the west, you must ensure that you've considered your local variables. What's the unemployment rate in Nigeria compared to the US?
The best and most effective subsidy should be at source, university fees should remain affordable not raising fees and pointing everyone to loans. In a matter of months, you will see draconian clauses added to the loans and how some people will pay and still be told they've not paid.
I am sorry for the olodo.
Hope you are not a prophet of pessimism.

Are you referring to the 20k loan as change?
lol
Olodo.
Is 20,000 enough to pay uni school fees?
In your university,no matter how much you pay..#200,000,#300,000,500,000,1000,000 or more...the govt pays it for you and you pay after you've gotten a job, without interest.
Lovely thing is you pay the debt every month with about 5% or 10% of your salary.
I think it is a good innovation that will allow the children of the poorest of the poor and others attain university education seemlessly and pay later almost withouy any stress.

No Lagos?
Lagos is temporarily out for now because Folawiyo and co have some issues unresolved.

However, the state’s stream of revenue from the oil derivation has been stalled, as Yinka Folawiyo Petroleum Company Limited (YFP), a wholly indigenous firm and operator of the OML 113 offshore field in Badagry; from where Lagos derives its oil-producing status has ceased further explorations due to challenges yet to be resolved.

“Between 2018 and 2019, the state government received from the Federal Government N131 million as part of oil derivation. And, between 2020 and 2021, the state government also received N3.78 billion,” Biodun Ogunleye, Lagos commissioner for energy and mineral resources, told journalists on Wednesday.

Before now we used to think that yorubas are wise owing to the fact that they like going to school,, but the past election and Tinubu's emergence have exposed their bottled up foolishness. Those people are not alright. They have spoilt their marriage with hausas, now they are frustrated that northerners don't want them anymore. Anyways, you will be alright las las
It did basically because politics is local and you shook mouth going against what majority Yoruba want.
Some not most Yorubas, are aggrieved about what happened during the election.
They took Igbos as friends but Igbos showed them that they have always been against the ascension of Yoruba favourite to the presidency.
Igbos only supported Obasanjo because they know (especially Ekweme and his northern cohorts)that Obasanjo always antagonises Yoruba would-be-leaders because of his own personal vendetta.
