Good morning everyone. Pls I have a question that requires your urgent response. I was given a couple hundred of dollars two days ago and I wanted to change it but some persons advised me to keep it as they believe that naira will continue to fall while others want me to change it urgently believing that naira may just strengthen against the dollars any time soon. Someone even said dollars my crash once a new president is elected in the US next month.

Pls, what do you guys think?

I pray the election will be peaceful cos it doesn't seem like any of the two top parties will be willing to concede defeat.

It has been very challenging for companies in Nigeria due to the scarcity and high costs of forex to source for raw materials and those that cannot cope are folding up.

Lafarge recorded a 30 billion naira half-year loss in july meanwhile they made about 27 billion naira after-tax profit around the same time last year. Last month MTN recorded about $350 million half-year loss.

I'm saying it for the umpteenth time, we need a qualified and competent economic team that is focused on favorable monetary regulations, job creation and diversification of the economy.

I'm not surprised. The US and IMF pressure Nigeria into this flexible exchange rate system saying it would help to halt the free fall of the naira, boost investors confidence and increase the inflow of forex into our economy but I'm yet to see any of the benefits as some companies are even closing down due to scarcity of forex. I hope the impact of the policy doesn't take too long cos we are already impatient

If she were just an ordinary girlfriend, I'd have advised you not to disclose the raise to her but since you plan to marry her then go ahead and disclose it.
