Christianity EtcWhere Is It Proper To Pay Tithe? by Quads(op): 2:15pm On Jan 24, 2013
I dont know if this topic has been covered before now but I need very serious input to my question. My boyfriend just got this consultancy job he had been on for a while. I reminded him not to forget to pay his tithe (i don't think he has paid tithe before now he's a catholic but he does a lot of charity)he asked me if he could use the money instead for the education of someone with HIV to learn a trade.
I know that is commendable and i told him so but it cant pass off as tithe cos Mal 3:10 the message bible says "bring your full tithe to the temple treasury ...". In my opinion paying for someone's education and temple treasury are not the same but he's not convinced. Am I right or wrong?

I need informed answers cos we're planning on settling down sometime mid year and this is very crucial for us cos as a family I believe and he needs to agree we should pay tithe to a church.
NYSCRe: Corpers Cause Mass Failure In Schools - Teachers Council by Quads: 5:52am On Dec 12, 2012
jamesbridget13: thats very correct, am a serving corp member now, studied mass communication n been asked 2 teach english, told d sch authority i cant take d oral aspect but they insisted i still handle d subject, i prefered social studies, crk or govt but i wasn't given. I ll like 2 point that most permanent staffs re not serious in d public schools.
What the heck shocked you did mass communication and you cant teach oral English shocked This is very sad. It is because of people like you that the teachers council made that call. And you have the effrontery to say you would have preferred CRK smh

FamilyRe: Why Do Pregnant Women Attached Safety-Pin(s) To Their Clothes/wears? by Quads: 7:05am On Dec 11, 2012
mollytinrox: The belief is that evil children(malformed, retards, cretins, abiku, ogbanje) cannot stand the pinch of the pin if they try to enter the womb.

Its not all the time, just when they want to go out in the sun.
Also, in the absence of pins, stones are used.

Scientifically, pregnant women are advised not to walk in the sun because of the dangers of UV rays to the fetus.
Just wondering, does it mean that if they fix the pin or use stones and go out under the sun, they would be protected from UV rays from getting to their fetus?

I'm seriously suprised at some of the comments here i take it that most people are joking but seriously is it too hard for someone to wish for a sane and drama free reception?

@OP, dont back down keep thinking and talking to well meaning friends you'll soon enough find creative ways of keeping away the univited guests. I'm sorry I cant give you any more tips as babyossi has done a good enough job already. Wish you all the best.

FamilyRe: Should Family Position Of Your Partner Be Considered Before Marriage? by Quads: 5:48pm On Dec 10, 2012
Kobojunkie: Because every family where the siblings are financially irresponsible, and careless, the FIRST BORN ALWAYS makes himself/herself responsible for correcting their PERSONAL MISTAKE. Somehow "Family Position" is what mandates that FIRST BORNS take responsibility for the stu_pid mistakes of the careless siblings, not love or a desire to help but "FAMILY POSITION". You must be the genius in your own set up, abi?
If you like highlight or lowlight whatever, it doesn't take away from the fact that your pseudo analysis isn't flying on this thread. Philosopher general grin
FamilyRe: Should Family Position Of Your Partner Be Considered Before Marriage? by Quads: 5:15pm On Dec 10, 2012
Kobojunkie: As expected, no substance to refute anything posted, only the usual/typical drool from the average block . . . NEXT!!
I had to go back and read the OP's post and your reply and my reply to you to make sure that I didnt miss anything. The OP pointed out financial responsibilities and careless attitude of the wife's younger ones while you in your psedo analysis jumped on the financial aspcect alone. Descartes wannabe cheesy,I see you passing off as a pseudo intellect whereas you're not the sharpest tool in the box. Mbok take several seats
FamilyRe: Should Family Position Of Your Partner Be Considered Before Marriage? by Quads: 12:43pm On Dec 10, 2012
Kobojunkie: um . . . I am going to guess right off the bat that you have comprehension issues for you to offer the above in response to the words I typed, and in English too.
You perfectly well understood what I typed and as someone said you just don't give up. Ur're just like a drowning man grabbing at straws
FamilyRe: Should Family Position Of Your Partner Be Considered Before Marriage? by Quads: 11:35am On Dec 10, 2012
Kobojunkie: The problem with box-thinkers is that you try to subject everything you encounter to the limits obtained in that box of yours. You claim to be married to a man who happens to be the first born and pretend the reason why your husband bears the financial burden is simply because he is the first born. What then do you tell a woman who is married to the third son in the family who happens to bear the financial burden for his family? Do you tell her that she lies and that her husband is really the first born as a result? Is that how you will explain that away?

No one family is same with others. Some first-borns out there do not even bear the burden, whether female or male. There are numerous cases of even the 4th borns bearing all the burden because those before her refuse to take on the extra responsibilities as they see no reason to. While there are cases where each sibling is only responsible for self, and no one else. Essentially, there is no cut-and-paste logic obtainable for these things but clearly we have lots of inside-the-box thinkers, mostly males(I pity the women who end up with this ones) who feel there is way they can maneuver around the problems of life while skirting common sense.
All you're trying to do is redeem yourself. The OP posted about considering female positions in families before marriage and you went on a tangent based on that. In Igbo land marrying an Ada comes with its responsibilities which must not necessarily be financial. So anyone not willing to take on extra roles asides his own immediate family needs to consider this before embarking on a journey of no return.

TravelRe: How Long Does It Take To Go Through The Baggage Claim Of MMIA? by Quads(op): 11:44pm On Nov 28, 2012
ib55: What other options do you have?
Do you have a place you can crash in lag?
Cos I will advice you to have a plan B just in case you miss your domestic flight!
Or you to fly Airfrance, thy go to PH. But that means you have to transit in France.
Yeah, I hav a plan B dats to buy two tickets : the 5:30 pm and 7 am ticket (how wasteful) and I have friends I can crash with but I wanted to go straight home. I dont think AirFrance flies out of DFW but then I didnt check, went straight for Delta. Thanks though.
TravelRe: How Long Does It Take To Go Through The Baggage Claim Of MMIA? by Quads(op): 12:30pm On Nov 28, 2012
funkybaby: your main worry should be the flight taking off on schedule and landing at 3pm.

getting your baggage should not take more than one hour. . . max . . . depending on where you are flying from. another trick is to have your bag labelled by the airline with a 'fragile' sticker. sometimes such bags are loaded on the conveyor belt before others. that way, you won't have to wait forever for your bags.
I'm coming in from the states and i've flown Delta twice and on both occasion we took off on time. Thanks though for the "fragile" sticker heads up will definitely use it.

Can someone out there help me out? I'm trying to book a domestic flight to PH same day that my flight comes in but I'm kinda skeptical as the last flight for the day is by 5:30pm while my flight lands by 3pm. Hence my question. Would it be too close to call if I go ahead and book the 5:30 flight?

Has anyone gone through the arrival and baggage claim of MMIA in recent times (app 2 weeks) and how long did you spend?
