looking at both terms - network engineers and programmers, the "real" work lies at the programming level which explains why they are more pronounced, its a complex field to talk about. the reason network engrs dont make global impact is because they dont really make innovations, brainstorming ideas in that regard; all they do is create, maintain, troubleshoot and manipulate how data is transferred within the network either from the router end or from the node (PC or server) end. they arent really building something we can see and the network we are talking about is an abstract term. but programmers have the opportunity to create groundbreaking innovations like facebook (Zuckerberg), microsoft (gates) etc. which explains why they make global impact. hope it answers your question. I stand to be corrected.

I recommend IIHT tho. I learnt CCNA there and I didn't regret it!!

a lot of people have scaled through via sef study. I think its about the dedication and the kind of materials you get. No doubt its not gonna come easy unlike going to an IT centre.

this message goes to most, if not all, of the IT gurus reading this. With reference to the MCSA 70-410 exam, been preparing for it over a while now but the curriculum seems difficult so to speak. Ive done cisco but microsoft seems a little bit more arcane -- the dumps etc. After reading sybex (Will Panek), the dumps still look very strange to me; seeing answers to questions that werent even mentioned in the textbook.
Kindly drop a suggestion if you know of a better way to go about it which ive not done. Thanks for your time.
