Embattled Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Abraham Adeolu Adeleke, has described the decision of the seven-man panel looking into the allegations of gross misconduct against Governor Rasidi Ladoja of Oyo State, to wind up last Monday without allowing the governor enough time to defend himself as a civilian coup d’etat which ran contrary to ethics of democracy. Adeleke, supported by his anti-impeachment colleagues, therefore, called on President Olusegun Obasanjo and the National Assembly to call the plotters to order in the interest of peace, good governance and stability of this country. At a press briefing held at Agodi State Secretariat, Ibadan, Adeleke said that the notice of allegations of gross misconduct signed by 15 of the 32 lawmakers on December 9, 2005 was contrary to the provision of the law which stipulated that such a notice must be presented to him as "Speaker, according to Section 188 (2) (a) of the Nigerian Constitution, 1999, and no other member of the House was served with any copy of it." Faulting the Monday ruling of the Chief Bolaji Ayorinde (SAN) panel, which claimed that the governor was served with the notice of impeachment, Adeleke said, "the executive governor was never issued any notice by him as the law required, but rather that the House of Assembly at its sitting of 14th December, 2005 in the Assembly Complex presided over by the Speaker urged the Governor to ignore the paid advertisement in The Nigerian Tribune containing the impeachment notice as it did not emanate from me as Speaker." http://www.sunnewsonline.com/webpages/news/national/2006/jan/11/national%20-11-1-2006-003.htm |
@ laexy so which one are u doin now? On topic? |
This is so daft IMPEACHMENT: I can’t save you – Obasanjo tells Ladoja As the 18 lawmakers working for the removal of Governor Rasidi Ladoja of Oyo State from office prepare to act on the report of the seven-man panel investigating allegation of gross misconduct against the governor, President Olusegun Obasanjo says it’s too late to stop the process already initiated by the state’s House of Assembly. This is even as the Ibadan branch of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) berated the state’s acting Chief Judge, Justice Afolabi Adeniran, for violating the constitution by ignoring a court order restraining him from constituting the seven-man panel investigating allegations of gross misconduct against Ladoja. Also, it is coming at a time armed men and police armoured tanks were drafted to the state’s House of Assembly Complex and later stood down. According to Ogun State Governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, who spoke when President Obasanjo visited the home of the foremost educationist, Pa Emmanuel Alayande, on his 96th birthday, the President believes that the legal process involved in the matter had already gone far and cannot be truncated. http://www.sunnewsonline.com/webpages/news/national/2006/jan/12/national%20-12-1-2006-001.htm

Yes nice one Martin Luther King Jr Day is a united states national holiday honouring the birthday of the civil right leader Martin Luther King Jr, the holiday is observed each year on the third Monday in January King’s actual birthday was January 15 1929. On Martin Luther King Jr day, most government offices and schools are closed for the day but many private businesses remain open. A campaign to establish a holiday honouring king began soon after he was assassinated in 1968. So in 1983 congress made his birthday a federal holiday which will be 16th of January 2006 for this years’, it was first celebrated on January 20 1986. I HAVE A DREAM TODAY!

Desmond is now and always |
hot angel it was never condenmed in the Bible. They just cooked something up. And twisted the words in the bible. Ofcourse it was condemned in the bible, what argument Lol wesley First of all, pants aren't necessarily "men's clothing". It depends on where you live (your culture e.t.c) and what time period sure, also the weather Now see this Deuteronomy 22:5 is an excellent passage relating to this topic of women's dress. It is clear that women should not wear clothing specifically made for men and men should not wear a "woman's garment". But who determines what is a woman's garment and what is a man's? This is determined by the culture, weather and the time one lives in. At this many old fashioned fundamentalists will quote verses like Hebrews 13:8 - Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. The problem with trying to use that verse to say women should not wear pants is that verse has nothing to do with clothing styles or dress. It has to do with the unchanging nature of God. If that were talking about clothing then we would all have to start wearing tunics and robes because thats what Jesus wore. so therefore, women and men both wore robes dearing Bible times. They just wore them differently. Not unlike men and women both being able to wear pants - but pants are cut differently for women than they are for men. |
