so super eagles no boycott training 🤣
Vs Rwanda
Vs SA
Vs Lesotho
Vs Benin

na this die minutes dem decide to show both NFF nd Fans pepper🤣🤣🤣…walai we dey crase for this country 🤣

From Iwobi hotel distractions
to Osimhen tension of being away after sunday video at gala
now to player boycotting training🤣🤣

walai either na prank or mind games something is fishy
omo since 2019😳😳😳 na for playoffs players remember to pepper every sector of the country
Thank you!!!

I'm all for dragging the NFF by their corrupt balls, but why in the **** does it have to be in this dying moment?

People thinking NFF will do anything are just being delusional. Las Las NFF sef go still drag with the staff and players. No be glasshouse Azamen again? With their baseless pride, they couldn't care less. You only need to watch the recent Amaju Pinnick interview in Arise to know how low of a priority these people place national team projects and events.

Painfully enough, NFF won't do squat. I have ZERO confidence in them. We might as well come home now. We can't go to the playoffs with this state of mind. We'll chop better beating. If it were Super Falcons, it would have been better because those girls have demonstrated insane willpower to fight against all odds that I simply haven't seen in the Super Eagles for the past 10 years (except maybe the last Benin game alone).

Lol. I don't trust NFF to take any decisive action. Not even in the heat of all this mess. These people are allergic to accountability. Dem never pay match bonus for close to 6 years, na under 48 hours Dem wan come pay...? We overestimate these people.

Woh- abi make we just forget the World Cup and prepare for AFCON... 😂

I'm still not sold on the Turkish League (Galatasaray is the only team I respect), but Lookman and Osimhen being in the same team for both club and country would have been dope.

Eric Chelle should not even think of starting Osayi-Samuel o.

Osayi-Samuel vs Bouanga or Auba is a mismatch. I suspect (based on the recent call up list and his interview with Odegbami) that Chelle likes to play things safe (almost a little too safe), and stick to players he's familiar with. Awaziem is a much better right back than Osayi-Samuel.

If Osayi-Samuel or Troost-Ekong start against Gabon... 😂💔

Lol. Thank God Moffi no dey this team.... We might likely have a penalty shoot-out...

I hope we qualify 😆
Omo I'd rather we find a way to wrap things up in 90 minutes for this game, then against Cameroon or DRC, it can end in penalties.

How many times have Nigeria gone ahead to win a game in the next stage of the knockouts after playing penalties? 2006 and 2023 AFCON failures come to mind.

Besides, we need the boys in full strength going to the finals, unshackled by fatigue.

My two cents sha.

Is it your logic or your prayers that took them there in the first place ??

It’s their skill and mental strength it has nothing to do with you
If it has nothing to do with me, then wetin concern you with what I've been saying about the accomodation? Make it make sense. By your logic, you and everyone else here should also stop talking about the players since it's not YOUR skill either. In fact let's close the thread lol.

Yes, skill and mental strength is important, and water is wet. Thanks for the reminder.

You have men put together that are worth billions and they shouldn’t be worried about a rural area with mediocre security
So your logic is: they are worth a lot, therefore they shouldn't focus on the actual reason they're there?

Oga this is not a luxury retreat! We didn't come here for jokes. It's not a permanent residence. Everyone involved has confirmed that there are training facilities on ground and the accomodation is close to the facility and the stadium! Wetin u come dey find again?!?

So if they had given them to one they give to the Super Falcons for their game in the last WAFCON finals, what would you have done? Gone home?

No wahala. Keep worrying about the hotel. The playoffs is not important. You hear?! It's not important at all. Mtcheww

This whole fiasco about the video Iwobi posted is pissing me off.

In the first place, maybe it's just me, but the players should be neck deep in preparation for the two games we're having this week because they're do-or-die games. The video would have made more sense if the accomodation was terrible, but as we've learnt from multiple sources, it isn't. I'm not sure what Iwobi's intentions were by posting that video, but it's just causing a whole lot of mess online and people are still insisting sef that the video of Rive Hotel journalists filmed is fake.

I just hope these boys are taking this camp serious and are not feeling too comfortable. Una go think say Gabon no be problem until we're down by 1-0 or 2-0 and there's no way to comeback by the 88th minute (god forbid sha)

Abeg, abeg, we need to be focused on Gabon and leave all these useless distractions.

omo our rivalry with cameroon unending ooo….
You see anytime a rival match is looming it’s always dicey and trembling oo
Nig vs Gha
Nig vs Cam
Nig vs SA(currently, though not regarded as our rival, but they are now forcing it) so it always create tension
Nig vs CIV(though not much of a rival fixture, but you know CIV are also africa’s heavy weight)

so there are some matches that cant freak me at all
Lol yh I get.

Don't get me wrong, Cameroon have been our biggest rivals for a long time, but to be honest I feel like they've been a shell of their past selves over the past few years, almost like the SE.

As for overall rivalries, I think Ghana is the only team I'm ALWAYS concerned about whenever our senior teams clash, because you can never really guess how the game will go as we're so similar in many ways. No side ever truly has the advantage over the other lol.

I'm also jittery about North African teams for obvious reasons.

Ivory Coast is often hit or miss like Cameroon but recently they've been on top form, so yes I guess facing them now would make me anxious. Although I'd be much more afraid of Senegal now. I still insist that fatigue was our undoing in the last AFCON finals. We'd have beaten Ivory Coast a second time. Even with the tired legs, we almost did.

South Africa is a weird case because while they've been decent recently, I don't think they've ever really been able to punish us -- which is something a lot of our top rivals (Ghana, Cameroon) have been able to do occasionally. And that's why I don't always feel comfortable calling it a rivalry. A win rate of 90% isn't really a rivalry, speaking from statistics.

Until they can beat us at least twice or thrice in the next 5-6 matches, I'll always look at SA games like Nigeria vs Argentina. We always play against each other, but no matter how tight that fixture is, or how good both teams play, you can almost always bet who'll come out on top lol. Highest na draw.

But jokes aside, as a Super Eagles fan these days, it's easy to be jittery about literally ANY team we face, even if it's Botswana, because of how unexpectedly disappointing our performance can be sometimes. Who would have thought that we would lose to Central Africa Republic or Rwanda, for instance? Or draw with Zimbabwe in a crucial World Cup qualifying match?

So I totally understand why people would be afraid of Gabon.

i really dont know why this Gabon game is not freaking me like the
Nigeria vs Benin and the outcome of SA vs Rwa….i was highly tensed that last month….

i could remember at the afcon when we where about meeting Cameroon my body was vibrating with fear, after the game i wasn’t freaked about the Quarterfinals vs Angola, but my trembling returned when we were to meet SA
Really? Lol. I kinda knew we would whoop Cameroon in the R of 16 last year sha. I remember they were piss poor coming off the group stages. I was only really worried about Angola. They had a really good run before they met us.

I wasn't worried about SA before we faced them but they surprised me with their performance.

I know I was also nervous going into the finals but I can't decide if it was because of Ivory Coast as a team or just the overall nervous excitement of getting to the AFCON finals.

Osimhen said he would do everything to take Nigeria to the World Cup," Mouyouma said at Thursday's press conference.

"I think Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has already answered this question and demonstrated by scoring four goals against The Gambia.

"Against Burundi, he did not return to his club to prepare for the next fixtures. He stayed with his teammates to show that he really wants to lead the national team to the World Cup. So, I have almost nothing to say about Osimhen's words."
It's motivation, a call to unite his team behind him. But he also said in the last Afcon that he would do everything to bring the cup to Nigeria.

"Unfortunately, Ivory Coast won. Well, these are motivational words that everyone uses without conviction. It’s his opinion alone."
Why do these guys always get emotional, crash out and start ranting whenever Super Eagles are involved? 😂

The power and threat we pose on the continent when it comes to soccer is unmatched, even with North African teams join.

Unfortunately, NFF are dead bent on turning us to minnows.

One of the keys to this match lies in the ability to control not only the game but also the midfield," Mouyouma explained at a press conference monitored by allnigeriasoccer.com.

"I would be more focused on our ability to hold onto the ball, have more possession, not just possession for its own sake, but to dominate in our half of the field and progress together as a team."

Mouyouma added that his side's tactical plan involves forcing Nigeria to chase the game and play out of their comfort zone.

"It's because in possession, there's a phase where when the opponent does not have the ball, the opponent tends to get frustrated. It is important that we control the ball, that we control our opponent's emotions.

"You have to dominate possession, you have to get the opponent to run after the ball and play behind their lines because in reality what this team wants to do with their players is to find spaces behind us.

"We have to solve this problem - control of the game or almost all of the game into the opponent's half."

With qualification on the line, Mouyouma made it clear that efficiency in front of goal would be decisive.

"That brings us closer to their goal because, for this match, we only need to score one goal to qualify.

"That is the tactical approach from the technical staff of the Gabonese national team."
Ironically some of our best games in the past are games where we are put on the defensive and have to play from the counter. Are Gabon setting themselves up to fail? Let's see sha.

Based on comments I've seen online, it's clear that majority of the media already have access to the squad list. Chelle is the one who wants it kept under locks for now, and that's why no one has published it. I don't really see a problem with that. I imagine the mind games would affect our opponents more, not us the fans.

Besides, if the media already have the list, then it's a 100% guarantee that the players have it too.

But seriously on a scale of 100 to 100, how obsessed are South Africans with Nigerians? 🤦🏾‍♀️

First of all, their useless FA president openly stated that he doesn't wish us well in the playoffs. Then CAF goes on to appoint a team of referees that are 97% South African. No North Africans. Not even countries like Kenya, Ethiopia and Uganda from the East who are overflowing with credible referees. 😂

You people already qualified for the World Cup. You literally have nothing at stake. What will it profit you personally if Nigeria doesn't go the world cup?

The worst is the hairless criminal that I'm suspecting is behind the stifling of NFF's complaint letter after the fact. Wow betide Pinnick if Nigeria doesn't qualify!
