Ennyholar:I know right... This is mad opportunity o. I'm just here already thinking about the business to start. Cheeee!!! UBA; i'm super proud of them again |
For some reason, i feel really optimistic about this. Good customer reward strategy...This is making me stay with UBA. |
Since it was just launched, when would it start selling? I like the device already |
Please what colors are available? the way that black is, God help me if i get it. I'd so cherish it. The body design of this device is just amazing. Nice one |
I can't even comman kill myself for these people saying the phone is trash. With this kind of unboxing, and that price, i'm willing to try. Tecno helps people like us that want good devices but don't have plenty money. So, biko, let the spoilers calm down on this one. 1GB RAM isn't so bad as y'all claim. |
This is a nice review. Just when i was admiring Pouvoir, they came up with this one. |
This is nice. TecnoMobile will just always pull up in grand style. So what's with this new device? What's its special feature? |
chicwoman:Thanks mami. |
Ennyholar:Yes, you are right. Thanks for stopping by |
The device looks lit. Given that the device has those specs and is still that affordable, i think it's a fair deal. Everyone complaining about the 1GB RAM size should go for other TECNO devices with bigger GB RAM size, like the Tecno Camon X. But For me, i think 1GB RAM size doesn't bother me. it would only require a more careful and conscious use of the device, to avoid lagging. This is not a bad one. i like the physical look of the device. |
Like what they say "If life throws lemons at you, make lemonades out of them"... For the naija hustler, life throws agbalumo at us. Months backs, President M. Buhari, allegedly, referred to Naija youths as Lazy. The average OMO NAIJA is a work in progress with the hustling spirit burning on the inside. Well, let's share my story. Have you ever had that Spark that Lit up that "Kai, i no go dey broke for this life" moment. I call it the #Spark2Lightup. This happened to me in my second year in the university. I was just a young girl trying to make good grades even though i didn't like my school . I guess going far away from home made me feel like the world was against me, so my loner life. I had countable friends, about 4 amongst which one was a blogger and a social media influencer. He was loved by everyone and was approached by everyone to hype their events and products and so on. I watched him make money but i felt becoming the ambassador i had wished to become, was the ultimate goal and i shouldn't get distracted. It all took an entirely different turn when "hunger wire me" one very day. I called home and my parents reminded me i wasn't the only child and they couldn't send me money as often as before. YAWO JUS GAS!! Then it dawned on me that i was a Lasgidi breed and an OMO NAIJA at large. I literally trekked to my friends house and begged him to open a blog for me and this was how i fell in love with the idea of content creation. Slowly and Surely, the snail would get to the finishing line. My #Spark2Lightup wassa goal! A new hobby was birthed, and of cause, monetized. I got my first few cash from event promotions and brand promotions. But for the hustle spirit, i stepped up my grind and got Content development and Strategy as my Core and Graphics design to accompany. This time, i did these for my passion and the MULLA! It's the HUSTLE ![]() Hopefully, I'd be an ambassador when next i visit earth but for now, LET PASSION PREVAIL. Less i forget, this thread was birthed from @papilagos' thread on twitter, as seen in the images. Hehehehehe. So, Feel free to share that Spark that lit up your hustle. I'd wait for the FTC.

This thread was so impacting. I learnt alot and just while he was having that section, my phone began to heat up and i noticed the hotter it got the battery was draining and stopped charging .. i just said out loud "this is what Mister Mo was talking about ".. i just allowed my phone cool and then life became normal again . I enjoyed his section and the tips are really helpful. Thanks to TecnoMobile for coming up with this amazing idea. I like the question posed by Tito as regards the future of smartphones after Mister Mo made mentioned of Virtual and Augmented reality, and AI as the future of smartphones. Mister Mo's reply got me nodding in agreement. This was nice. Kudos to Mister Mo and TecnoMobile.

dukeokafor:Thank God you said it's in CarlCare. My Xiaomi that developed almost same fault is still in my house with no service center to work on it. Don't get me wrong o... we all have our reservations. But I'd rather pick a phone that has a working service center to one that doesn't. If there's a warranty on your phone, it should be changed. Until i see a fault in the one my brother got, i think it's one of the best devices Tecno Mobile has produced so far. |
Impressive!! Tecno Mobile has high reputation for influx of smartphones in Nigeria, from research. How they sustain that pace is totally mind blowing. Sometime in april, they launched the Camon X and X pro... Now Pouvoir! Pouvoir, which is a french term that means "to be able to". My observation however, the phone allows its users to be able to 1. Purchase at affordable price 2. Use with ease 3. Run battery life for long 4. Easy unlock and the rest. I like that part. But my question is "Them wan kill us?". Why would they just be releasing phones like this? Now confusion has set in. Do i just buy my iPhone 6 or buy 1 Pouvoir and 1 Camon X pro |
mysteriousman:How we for dey pronounce am biko?? Leave our Tecno and Infinix. No stress to pronounce. |
Hey Nairalanders, Say hi to my new baby. I have heard a lot about the Tecno Camon Series and I have been drooling to get one. Just when Tecno Released another one, that they claim could be compared to the iPhone X, I now got the Tecno Camon CM. The device is mad, obviously this is just my first month with the device, so I decided to share, as well as, read reviews on their nairaland thread, just when I noticed there’s no TECNO THREAD. As you know na, if Mohammad doesn’t go to the mountain, the mountain would come to Mohammad. So, I decided to make a Tecno Mobile thread. So, in this thread, we’d all review our Tecno devices, and for the non-users, let’s know what we are missing, let us know whether to switch or what other devices you think is better but please be kind so i don't regret my new device, don't spoil this excitement i feel. Kindly share your views about Tecno devices, the shitty things they need to fix up, the models you think would have been the bomb but because of one reason or the other, it doesn’t pass for a near comparism to the “world class devices”. Tips on upgrading, rooting and every other thing necessary. Owing to my love for smartphone photography, and how chilled it is when you can actually do wonders with the “Tecno, Infinix or Itel” devices, I’d love the Tecno Phantom 8 as my next birthday gift please. 28th Dec, kindly save the date. I'd like the FTC to take it easy.
|
I think the devices are nice but i hope it's talk and do sha. Let me not go and buy something that would not correspond with these things i see here o. I know your username, i'd find you. But when would the X Pro be out please I think that's what i'm interested in. the hype is getting me nauseated already, let me feel and testify for myself. |
Well.... this doesn't look like marketing to me. I think Tecno is for Nigerians. What other smartphone brand produces quality phones at affordable prices biko... show me one and i'd gladly throw away my TECNO device and never use TECNO again. My dear, you are right, marketing or not, even though this doesn't even look like marketing. |
Before this device was released, i thought twas just mere hype but, kudos to Tecno Mobile, they delivered as usual. |
My love for this device ehnnn... I can't wait to have one... Now that Camon X pro is out, i might have to choose between the two. Hardest decision ever, i must say. |
Technology is evolving by the day, i'd only be surprised if carl care doesn't go with the wave.... Nice development. |
I saw the short clip shared on their twitter official handle, i couldn't help but share. Mehhnnn.... TECNO Mobile is on fia! Well, let's just hope this beats the iPhone X truly because haters are waiting already. See me hyping Tecno na. They have never disappointed, so this won't be the first. Tecno Camon X Pro, how much first? cause i want. |
You really don't need to be angry though.... A problem shared, is a problem half solved . But if they had one, it would be everywhere but obviously there's none. |
Hey reader! Need I introduce myself? Nope nope! What’s most important is that which I have written in this piece. But before we explore the aim of this piece, I have a little story to tell and the I’d conclude with my opinion on the title you see just above. While I was in school, final year precisely, I had the 3-credit unit seminar to present as well as the 6-credit unit project to present. Unlike my other course mates who had sleepless nights on how to go about these two, having to pay an urge amount of money to the typist and then getting to spiral bind the work with money again. That’s too much worry already. But for me, I had a laptop and I felt all I’d be needing is data and speed, so, I was relaxed. About two weeks to submission of the seminar, I had my seminar half way finished and I was still relaxed even though the process was really tedious; having to reference your sources and all. Then one faithful morning, I was seeing a movie in my laptop when a friend of mine came visiting. We chatted for a while, and then, I offered to go accompany her to her destination. Of course, I needed to take my bath and while I was in the bathroom, she asked if she could get the movie I was seeing with her flash drive. I agreed and that was the end of my hard disk, my dear. Unknown, to the both of us, the flash drive was infested with virus and it had infected my laptop and everything in it, including my seminar which I was half way through with. Another funny thing is, trying to find a way to fix my laptop, I got into the hands of a wrong engineer, so he kept on asking me to back stuffs that weren’t working. Now, submission date is close, I had spent all the money I had trying to fix my laptop a, so what option was I left with? Just around same period, I told another friend, a guy this time, about my predication and he assured me that I could meet up with the deadline. He got my TECNO device from me and helped me download the MS Word application into my device and that was how I was able to type a 20-page document with my smartphone, well referenced and still smashed the course with an A. The end. So now, I’d be write about the increase in the penetration of smartphones and its impact on Nigeria and its citizens. Note that this article is born out of research as well as a survey research which was adopted with questionnaire as the instrument of gathering data from about 70 respondents. Let’s ride. Communication is said to be “at the heart of human existence and technology” as it has always determined the nature of and nurture how man communicates. As with a break in communication or wrong communication could lead to an outbreak of conflict between two parties. Thus, the introduction of mobile telephone and most importantly smartphones has altered the way people communicate. The use of smartphones in our society today owes its importance to the globalization of the world’s order. In contemporary times, since the industrial revolutions and other subsequent technological evolutions, telecommunication has proved to be one of the most important infrastructures that aids the socio-economic well-being of any state/country. Globalization has even amplified the importance of telecommunications to any economy. It is ever to not that the telecommunication Sector is one of the fastest-growing sectors in terms of capitalization. The use of smartphones has indeed influenced one of the major dividends of Nigeria’s transition to democracy. The use of this technological reform has brought about a high rise on Foreign capital inflow, it has Increased access to telephony services, and of course created Job opportunities. Also, through this technological reform, there has been some sort of Indigenous skills acquisition and technology transfer and so on. However, one could now see that it is an essential infrastructural component that promotes the development of other sectors including agriculture, education, industry, health, banking, defense, transportation and tourism. It is indispensable in day to day interactions and indispensable in times of national emergency or natural disasters; It also reduces the risks and rigors of travel. Today, mobile phone has become so popular that virtually everyone possesses at least a brand of mobile phone. This explosion in the rise of mobile and smartphones explained the increase of mobile phone users in Nigeria from 100,000 in 2002 to over 81 million in 2011. The table below shows the statics of the respondents and their opinion. Male Female Total Feedback 76.7% 23.3% 100% Number 23 7 30 The survey covered about 30 people, 7 females and 23 males. It covered basically teenagers and youth. However, our conclusion, even though might have a general overview of the effect of the use of smartphones on the citizens of Nigeria, it would take precision to Nigerian teenagers and youths. From the survey, the respondents were made to make a comment about their most used apps and the impacts of their smartphones on their daily activities. Check table below. Chat Browsers Calls/SMS/MMS Others Number 27 21 3 19 Percentage 90% 70% 10% 63.3% From this, we could tell that these people value communication, even though through chats than calls and sms, the values surfing the internet either for education or for fun and other things such as, communication via video calls, music, taking awesome photos, business and making money etc. So, they are more about the social aspect of this technology than any other. The smartphones would have a distinct effect on adults from age 40. These set would indulge more in surfing the internet for news than other. Smartphones such as TECNO, Infinix, Nokia, which are user friendly and youth friendly tend to provide such applications like the Tecno Spot for chats and joining educative forums, the Boom Player for music, Carl care for customer service, Whatsapp for chats and communication, Adobe reader for reading pdf documents and so on. However, the respondents still agreed to the fact that the use of smartphones in Nigeria has it’s some positive effect as well as negative effects. NEGATIVE POSITIVE BOTH PEOPLE 67.7% 0% 33.3% TOTAL 100% From this stat, the respondents were of the opinion that there are more positive effects of the smartphones than there are negatives. Amongst the positives are EASY COMMUNICATION, SPEEDY EXECUTION OF PLANS, BUILDING NETWORKS, JOB CRREATION etc. The negatives; EQUIPS FRAUDSTERS, ENGAGES THEFT, BRINGS ABOUT IMMORALITIES etc. These and some others were the impacts the respondents identified as effects of the increase in the penetration of smartphones. Nonetheless, they prefer to have more smartphones then laptops in the country and their descriptions of Nigeria without smartphones were simply epic. MAJOR CONTRIBUTOR TO THE HIGH PENETRATION OF SMARTPHONES IN NIGERIA: Basically, as predicted in 2016, Nigeria continues its trajectory down the increasingly widening highway that is the mobile internet. With a current internet penetration rate of 53% (97.2 million users) Nigeria has a much higher penetration rate than across Africa (18%). In other words, Nigeria has one of the fastest growing smartphone markets in Africa, and there are basically 5 top contributors of smartphone that are mostly found in the hands of Nigerians especially youths. According to the latest research report from Counterpoint’s Market Monitor service, the Nigerian handset market grew by a modest 6% in CY 2017. More so, the statistics of smartphone shipment into the country show that majority of the market volume capture by specific brands in Nigeria. On this, Anshika Jain, Research Analyst with Counterpoint’s Market Monitor said: “The top 2 OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) – Samsung and Transsion Group (its brands include Tecno, Itel and Infinix) captured two-thirds of the total smartphone market. Samsung still retains the top position with more than one-third share in the total smartphone market. While in the feature phone segment, the market is dominated by a single OEM with 76% share. This highlights the dominance of Chinese players in the feature phone market”. Thus, the major contributors to the penetration are SAMSUNG, TECNO, ITEL, INFINIX, NOKIA, as the top 5. CONCLUSION: Study revealed that smartphone usage among students in higher institutions has positive influence on their communication pattern. The study further showed that majority of the respondents used their smartphone for social activities and related functions. This research also gives credit to the top contributors to this penetration, with precision to Nigeria. However, there would be no need for further influx of these device but rather an improved version of the already existing devices.

Hey! Na wa o... Naija Internet people. One thing I know for sure is, Nigerians don’t even have chills. Now now, people have started saying she should go and face her book while some are saying the only thing iPhone X is better than is sunlight… heheheheheheh, how funny. Let’s take a chill pill and think about it this way? What if this is true? If you check well, you’d see that we are just few hours away from the truth… Whether or not the Camon X can be compared to the iPhone X, April 5th will tell. But before you start saying all you must, let’s consider these: Yes, Apples phones have got very good rep for good camera quality but so has the Tecno Camon Series as well as the Tecno Phantom series. Now, away from the normal, TecnoMobile is coming out with the dragon by the horn, as per beast mode na. Remember how they talked about the edge-to-edge display? It happened in the Camon CM. Now, as allegedly posited, the upcoming Camon X device from TECNO Mobile would run on the latest Android 8.1 Oreo and accompanied with this would be a highly rated Selfie camera that shoots better pictures than the iPhone X. So here's a test of the two devices. Bet wait, don’t #yimu yet. Here’s what fellow Nigerians think, after this lady ran a test on the two devices. https://s14.postimg.org/ruvz1m10x/Postive.jpg Someone thinks she's right afterall. But let's not conclude there yet. https://s14.postimg.org/uoz4f838x/Negative_2.jpg hahahahah...disrespek on a name. Meanwhile, here’s the comparism she made using the Camon X and the iPhone X. I like that I can’t differentiate which is Camon nor iPhone, so let’s hear you now. Feel free to go hard on this post, April 5th is just next tomorrow. See, nairalanders, i think, with the rate Tecno Mobile, Transsion as a whole is going, this Camon X might come with a camera that could be compared to the iPhone X. Say your own part. But first consider, "All na X". I'd be waiting for the FTC. See other photos below.

Another one!!! Snapdragoooo!! I just hope the specs meet up to my expectations but i trust Infinix |

Up to something *in Iyanya's voice*. It was said during the SMW TECNO xWakafire Photography masterclass that Tecno would be launching a new device in April..so I'm not surprised really. But question is where did the website nau see leak from If truly this is what the device looks like, then I'm in love already.Nonetheless, i cant wait to see the next device, leak or nah. Because i know Tecno is on fire these days. |

I think that's what i'm interested in. the hype is getting me nauseated already, let me feel and testify for myself.
