President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday, said that former President Goodluck Jonathan and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) were not mentally prepared for the defeat they suffered during the last general elections.
Buhari spoke through the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, in a keynote address delivered at an event on Strengthening Nigeria’s Transition Framework for Democratic Consolidation organized by the National Democratic Institute, NDI.
The address was entitled: “The Challenges of Transition in Nigeria and the Imperatives for a New Framework.”
“Our experience in the last transition process was unique despite the fact that we have held many general elections and transitioned from one government to another.
“Indeed, the last election heralded the first real transition in the history of our nation, being the first time that an opposition party will sweep the ruling party out of power,” Mohammed said.

Joshua, in response to request for help by the internally displaced persons (IDPs) who are currently settled at a makeshift camp in Kuchingoro area of Abuja, donated to them a cheque of N10 million with which they are expected to offset their medical costs, as well as cost of educating their children whose education has been temporarily halted by the acts of the terrorists. Also, Joshua pledged to deliver to the IDP camp, a medical ambulance for use in cases of emergency by the members of the IDP community. Speaking through his representative, Taleb Tebite who made the donation recently in Abuja, Joshua stated that the intention of the church and its partners to help alleviate the difficulties of the IDPs in resettling away from their homes. He noted that even though the camp could not be described as home to the IDPs, its conditions should be improved on to provide some level of comfort to them. Joshua thus called on the government and good spirited individuals to help improve the situation at the camp.

Nigeria’s name has again been put on the world map following the successful solution provided by a Nigerian don, Dr. Opeyemi Enoch, to the 156 years old Riemann Hypothesis, considered the most important problem in Mathematics.
With this enviable achievement, Dr. Enoch, who is a lecturer at the Federal University, Oye Ekiti (FUOYE), has become the fourth egghead to resolve one of the seven Millennium Problems in Mathematics.
The Kogi State-born mathematician had, before now, worked on mathematical models and structures for generating electricity from sound, thunder and Oceanic bodies.
A statement in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital on Saturday said the FUOYE lecturer’s presentation of the Proof on November 11, 2015 during the International Conference on Mathematics and Computer Science in Vienna, Austria, becomes more symbolic coming on the exact day and month 156 years after the problem was delivered by a German Mathematician in 1859.
The Riemann Zeta Hypothesis is one of the seven Millennium problems set forth by the Clay Mathematics Institute and it comes with a million dollar reward for each problem solved for the past 16 years.
According to the statement, “Dr Enoch first investigated and then established the claims of Riemann. He went on to Consider and to correct the misconceptions that were communicated by Mathematicians in the past generations, thus paving way for his solutions and proofs to be established”.
“He also showed how other problems of this kind can be formulated and obtained the matrix that Hilbert and Poly predicted will give these undiscovered solutions. He revealed how these solutions are applicable in cryptography, quantum information science and in quantum computers,” it stated.
Three of the problems had been solved and the prizes given to the winners. This makes it the fourth to be solved of all the seven problems.
Dr. Enoch had previously designed a Prototype of a silo for peasant farmers and also discovered a scientific technique for detecting and tracking someone on an evil mission.
Enoch is also credited with inventing methods by which oil pipelines can be protected from vandalism and he is currently working on Mathematical approaches to Climate Change.
