Car Talk / Re: Which Petrol Station Has The Most Accurate Pump In Lagos by quintessnc05(m): 11:45am On Apr 28, 2017
Wouldnt it be nice if we did not have to require strategies or approaches or have a schedule of stations just because we want to buy fuel. Cant there be sumtin that just assures integrity of every station that regulatory bodies can mandate all stations get. I mean, if am on Ikorodu road, why must i drive all the way to Mobolaji Bank Anthony jus because i trust Total station.....

Health / Bogus Ebola Scare!! by quintessnc05(m): 11:46am On Aug 08, 2014
EBOLA FACTS!!!
The U S State Department has assembled this list of bullet points worded in plain language for easy comprehension on the Ebola virus. Please READ and be aware:

• The suspected reservoirs for Ebola are fruit bats.

• Transmission to humans is thought to originate from infected bats or primates that have become infected by bats.

• Undercooked infected bat and primate (bush) meat transmits the virus to humans.

• Human to human transmission is only achieved by physical contact with a person who is acutely and gravely ill from the Ebola virus or their body fluids. Continue…

• Transmission among humans is almost exclusively among caregivers, family members or health care workers tending to the very ill.

• The virus is easily killed by contact with soap, bleach, sunlight, or drying. A washing machine will kill the virus in clothing saturated with infected body fluids.

• A person can incubate the virus without symptoms for 2-21 days, the average being 5-8 days before becoming ill. THEY ARE NOT CONTAGIOUS until they are acutely ill.

• Only when ill does the viral load express itself first in the blood and then in other bodily fluids (to include vomit, faeces, urine, breast milk, semen and sweat).

• If you are walking around you are not infectious to others.

• There are documented cases from Kikwit, DRC of an Ebola outbreak in a village that had the custom of children never touching an ill adult. Children living for days in one small room huts with parents who died from Ebola did not become infected.

• You cannot contract Ebola by handling money, buying local bread or swimming in a pool.

• There is no medical reason to stop flights, close borders, restrict travel or close embassies, businesses or schools.

• As always practice good hand washing techniques, but you will not contract Ebola if you do not touch a dying person.

Business / Re: How Do You Retrieve Your Money From A Serial Onigbese? by quintessnc05(m): 9:20am On Jul 29, 2014
Use the Police. They COULD be very effective.

They would call him in and make him write a statement staing exactly when and in how many tranches he would pay.

The only problems are, the policemen have to be properly motivated and the debtor could say that he can only afford to pay N5 monthly and you or the Police wouldn't be able to do anytin bout that. You would however get your total money, nonetheless, someday.

TV/Movies / Suits - 18 Things To Learn From Harvey Specter by quintessnc05(m): 12:51pm On Jul 23, 2014
Harvey Specter is bad-ass. My fellow Suits aficionados know that, for those of you who don’t know - Harvey Specter (played by Gabriel Macht) is a senior partner from the fictional law firm Pearson Hardman, in the critically acclaimed law drama on the USA Network – Suits. Yes, the show is pretty enjoyable. It’s smart and thrilling, but there’s more to the show than just entertainment. I’ve actually managed to pick up tips for success in business and life in general, by watching the ways of Harvey Specter.

1. Win your battles before they’ve even been fought – Harvey likes to win his cases outside of court because going to court is expensive. Just like with anything else, if you can find an option that allows you to win your battles without actually having to go to war, take it.

2. Be a risk taker – If you never take any chances, I guarantee you will have a dull, boring and shitty life.

3. Don’t try to lose small, try to win big - This is one of those glass half empty or glass half full kinda things. If you frame your mind in a way that always looks to minimize your losses, you’re never going to make it big in life.

4. Take control of and own your responsibilities - Harvey brought Mike on board so he knows that if Mike screws up, it’s on him. You choose your behaviour, so you choose your consequences.

5. Following every single rule gets you nowhere – If you’re not willing to break the rules once in a while, you’re going to be at a huge disadvantage.  By following the rules every single time, you’re only letting your competition get ahead by being naive enough to believe that they will do the same.

6. Play the man, not the odds - If you structure your life in a way that only uses logic, 99% of the time you’re going to come up short. Anybody can play the odds. Anybody can use logic to try and sell a product, land a client or create a business. It’s those who know how to adjust their strategies based on the emotional intelligence gathered from others, who will come up on top.

7. Appearances are important – Understand that the way you look has a direct impact on the way others perceive you. First impressions are everything and the way you present yourself to a prospective employer or client has everything to do with whether or not they choose you.

8. The success of your client is a success of yours - This is straight forward enough. Your goal shouldn’t be to make your client happy, your goal should be to make them succeed.

9. Master the art of reading people - Harvey Specter plays poker on his off days. Maybe that’s how he learned to be so good at reading people. It’s an important skill to have. People around you are always giving out tiny signals and if you are able to catch them and use them to your advantage, you will be extremely successful in business. Learn to predict what others are going to do before they actually do it.

10. Be cool and keep your composure – Be cool even in tough situations. Keeping your composure during difficult times allows others to have confidence in you.

11. Do what you have to do – “Sometimes the good guys gotta do bad things to make the bad guys pay.”

12. Have interests and hobbies outside of work – I don’t know about you but I want that vinyl record collection he has in his office.

13. There’s no such thing as lying to protect someone -”Lying to me doesn’t protect me. It betrays me.”

14. Sometimes being cocky is okay - If you’re good at what you do, there’s no reason you can’t brag about it.

15. Study, learn and know your competition - You always have to be one step ahead.

16. Don’t think like a rookie even if you are one - Everyone has to start somewhere, but that doesn’t mean you can’t open your mind up to think like a veteran.

17. Don’t waste time trying to explain the problem, fix it instead - When you come across a problem, people appreciate it more when you spend your time wisely, trying to fix the problem rather than reporting the issues to someone else (like your boss). In the time constrained society that we live in today, every second counts and a second spent talking rather than doing is a second wasted.

18. Don’t wear a damn skinny tie to work - Seriously, just dont.

Romance / Re: HELP!!! Should I Marry A Guy Without Manhood? by quintessnc05(m): 11:12am On Jul 21, 2014
I tink 1stly, you'll have to knw wot type of guy the dude is...
He culd be the 'Love is Blind type, dnt-leave-me-else-id-die type ' undecided
Or, the 'I care less type' cool

If he's the latter, then she shuld go ahead and talk to him and end the relatnship....he'll understand......somewhat.

Bt if he's the former, she wuldnt want a suicide on her hands.....she has to be calculative, let him down easy.
Firstly, she shuld suggest postponement of the wedding on d guise of seeking medical/alternative therapy...
Den over time slowly withdraw...

Alternatively, she n d guy shuld become strong christians, n go on deir knees to God in prayer. He answers.....(Though 'NO' is also an answer).
