Gerrard59:Stockholm syndrome is affecting most of you, basic lifestyles is what most Nigerians called a luxury and that's the reason i didn't include my budget list to the original post because to me they are basics but many will term them luxury . Many don't even know things have really changed, they still believe that with 10m,they can build a house and buy a car. |
Kajaard:Being daft is when you believe or assume a family of 7 must consist of only children and the parents. Your niece and nephews are still called family |
Caaz:Tell us how you manage 35k monthly for a family of 5 in a city, maybe we can learn from your economic jargon. |
Antivenom:I look at my lifestyles but nothing luxurious in it. I don't drink alcohol, not womanizing ,no clubbing, no eating out,no vacation for the past 15 years, just a basic lifestyles. I do bulk purchases to cut costs, things are just so expensive and naira has lost so much value, band A takes about 125k monthly, car fuel 30k per week., this economy is just so depressing |
The purpose of this post is to seek help on how to navigate this tpain era. It's been quite difficult for me since this new government took over power. 400k was my monthly budget for a family of 7, and we were living just fine, but right now 1.2m isn't even enough for a month. HOW CAN I CUT COSTS? I would have loved to give rough estimates on how i expended my monthly budget so that anyone willing to contribute can give advice on my shortcomings, but i wouldn't want to bore you with my list. Going forward, how can I cut costs because Sincerely, I'm so tired, and i can't save anything at the end of the month. I'm not living a luxurious life, no vacation, no eating out, no dorime, just a normal basic life. The system seems to be keeping us poor. After working for years to have a better life, boom devaluation will occur , and inflation follows, which in turn cut down our purchasing power and keep us lamenting. I'm so frustrated and exhausted. The kind of love most women's seeks these days are love for money and materials things regardless of the guy personalities. |
ositadima1:Kindly explain in a simpler form how dey take get 30% true yield on the 23% 364 days treasury bills. Thanks |
Obainoman6:There are two places you don't wanna start a fight with the service provider, hospital and restaurant else you could be poisoned or injected to death by a psychopath. If you go through this kind of pain you can either lash out at them and leave the premises or endure the pain for a positive end result. In my case I chose to endure to avoid having to go through such pain again. |
I was at LASUTH yesterday for a dental checkup, there was a long list of people to see doctor as usual being a general hospital and I patiently waited for my turn. The student doctor kept pounding my throat with their instruments even while she was carried away gisting and giggling with her colleague, she would say to me open your mouth wider, bend your tongue to the left because I can't see anything then out of frustration I asked don't you guys have the proper instruments like a mouth gag or something to make this easier, she then called for a mirror but wasn't given any. The diagnosis was taking forever, eventually I was asked to go for an x-ray (located at the same wing of the clinic). I thought I've seen it all until I got to the x-ray room, immediately I stepped in the supposed radiologist that ought to work on my case told me that she needed to take a break and walked out of the room not minding my plea that I've not eaten a thing since morning and it was around 3pm, then her assistant asked me to sit down muttered the world: oju lonroju Shanu, I said thank you not knowing I was about to be dehumanised. She put a poly bag rapped up small rectangular shaped camera under my tongue, she didn't get me prepared for the pain that could come with it, she kept sweeping the underneath of my tongue with the camera using her fingers looking for the right angle to place the camera , yelling at me to be still and calling me unprinted names. Words can't explain the pain I was going through during this procedure, she said this pain isn't up to child bearing nah be still or else I will leave. After placing the camera at the supposed right angle underneath my tongue, she would start to look for a staff who will take the shot for her, by the time she comes back, camera don shake, she would start all over again. I shed tears and started drooling. Eventually she was able to take the shot after unbearable back and forth and asked for my phone to take the pics on the pc so as to show the docs, how about my phone camera quality isn't good enough, mind you this is their usual practice after the x-ray, you will have to snap the results with your phone. I showed the Doc the pictures, them say they can't see anything that the x-ray isn't visible enough that I needed to do another one, I wept inside, went back to the x-ray room met the other lady that walked out for a break initially then the procedures continued with severe and unbearable pains but this time with some encouraging words from the radiologist. A fight broke out among the nurses because of the gloves used during the procedure, it was just so messy. Eventually I had to get a toothbrush and toothpaste and brush thoroughly before I could eat something at a restaurant, I went to complain of a tooth but I came back with bruises all over my mouth. Shey na so dentist visit dey be ABI na dem no get the right tools?, it's my first time though |
Is it advisable for a footballer to fast at the same time play football? Considering that he/she needs sufficient energy to discharge his duty. |
My take on this is that if a child has a medical conditions that renders such "extremely" useless, such should be given a mercy killing. I've got a niece that has a severe down syndrome , she can't help herself and causes pain to her parents and people around, like she will literally push you off the staircase, hit you, could stab you. It's a pain to her parents and I wonder who will take care of her when the parents passed because they take care of everything for her |
This country is finished, everybody is now chasing after the dollar, #1800/$ as at today. I'm so depressed right now, all my investments are in Naira. Mutual funds is giving me 11.5%, Bond at 15.7%, my purchasing power has been reduced by more than 50%. I sold my SUV about two years ago, hoping to buy something bigger, now the old version type I sold is now 14m for Nigeria used, I can't keep up. I had to close down my business because of government satanic policies, fixed investments wey I put eyes to dey use take care of family, devaluation and hyperinflation no gree, I'm so tired. Each time I want to process a withdrawal from my mutual funds investment in order to starch it all in dollars, I get weary because of the monthly income I will earn from it which I've been using solely to take of my family, the more I tarry the more the dollar soar. Newbies should learn from my mistake, don't keep more than 20% of your investments in Naira, 80% should be dollar investment. Is there anyway I can sell my 10 years SUKUK? Nigeria bonds is a loss in disguise |
emmanuelewumi:Thanks. I know this is a controversial topic but the question was just a one of thing but having thought of it myself, I decided to ask how this can be accomplished effortlessly. Beside she's doing so well financially too. The investments are with fbnquest, stanbic, United capital. I wouldn't want funds drawn out for sharing but will prefer the situation where proceeds (interests) can be shared equally among my kids annually and continuously. A neighbour died and his wife couldn't access his funds, she doesn't even know his account numbers and this has brought untold hardship to his kids, this is a man with a big pharmacy, his family seats on most of his properties because the husband hid a lot of things from his wife. Imagine keeping millions in a 30 years bonds and your wife and children aren't aware of such investment, that's why there are billions of Naira of unclaimed dividends. I will contact United Capital Trustee for will and Estate planning asap, thanks for your contribution. |
Hello house, please for someone that starch it all digitally, how is the best way to write a will? My entire funds are locked up via mutual funds, treasury bills, bonds. My wife asked me one day, if you are gone how do we access your funds? She has my card pin, account numbers, POD signed in her name but all funds are locked up digitally, at least someone has to sign out the money from my investment portfolios before she can gain access. What do I do to make my wife access my funds effortlessly when I'm gone ? Thanks |
I made a post about betting sometimes ago , https://www.nairaland.com/6770359/which-advert-hate-see-tv. After these betting advertisers realised how destructive and damaging this evil act could be, they are now advising their already addicted and damaged customers to know when to stop, hypocrites. I put up this post because of a young lady I just watched on tiktok crying about how betting has destroyed her life, she learned the acts from her ex boyfriend. Guys wise up, stop staking away your sweat, slow and steady win the race. |
Foodqueen:Given that you are from a different tribe from your hubby, would you like your children to communicate with their dad in his language at home and leaving you in the dark about their discussion? I understand that it's advantageous for the kids to speak different languages but I kinda feel not too cool with it happening under my roof, that could make me feel like a stranger in my own house. |
Caaz:The bolded is my concerns. |
I'm married with four kids (5/13 years), my wife is from Edo State while me a Yoruba. There was a little misunderstanding between us lately when she told me that she will soon start to teach my children her language , I objected to this which made her feel bad . My children barely understand my language and can't speak at all because we all speak English at home but my wife understand Yoruba at least by 30% . I won't like it when they start speaking a language I don't understand under my roof. I'm trying to teach my kids Yoruba but my unavailability at home isn't helping matters. I don't think I'm being selfish in this case because it will be lovely if all of us speak Yoruba than only me being left out, this is one major thing I don't like in an intertribal marriage |
Klass99:Not that I don't have the guts to ask him but I think that will make him feel very uncomfortable thereafter. For 13 years now, I've never had a fight with him and I doubt I will ever because I'm too meek for such , I do visit them on Christmas before, eat and dine with them but since 7 years ago when this weird behaviour intensified I stopped. I put up this post when I was thinking aloud yesterday after such weird behaviour took place. It's not much of a threat to me though as we don't live in the same compound but just sometimes wondered why. |
socialmediaman:Yes run like he's about to see a ghost and I could hear his stamped steps like someone running for safety. Once he hear the sound of my door being opened the next thing is to hide behind the balcony wall or run, sometimes our eyes jammed each while he was trying to peep to be sure if I had gone back inside, it's extremely weird conduct |
Klass99:I wonder o, this is a man in his fifties with grown up children. this has been going on for years now and sometimes ask myself why or what could he be afraid of. Could it be he's done something awful to me in the past and was expecting some negative results but suprise I'm still living, just can't wrap my head around it. I'm making plans to renovate my house to a story building, then our balconies will face each other, I hope he survives the frequent shocks. |
I want to believe that we are all weird in one way or the other but some people are real weirdo, I have this neighbour with a strange behaviour, I can't say maybe it's shyness or the introvert ways of behaving. He lives upstairs while I live in a bungalow beside his, whenever I open my door to come out, he will run inside with a great speed as if he's about to see a ghost. Normally, if we bump into each other accidentally he communicate very well but avoid frequent eyes contact. The other day he almost fell while running away from only God knows what chases him, my wife just burst into laughter. I'm not an introvert nor an extrovert, an ambivert kind of , I don't blab and won't initiate an endless or senseless conversation to have suggested his strange behaviour. The other day my kids were to open the gate for me, immediately he sighted me where he was relaxing at his balcony he suddenly picked up speed and run enter his house, Aside this his running running things, he's a lovely person. Do you have any weird neighbours, share your experience. |

I thought the misery network problems will end anytime soon but no, it's been going on for almost 4/5 months now and no end in sight. It's either I hear my caller but they can't hear me or the other way round. I can attempt a simple call for up to 3/4 times before getting a clear communication, yet you charge me for every unsuccessful call. The network literally turn my wife and I to a one way communication traffic, when she call, she will tell me all she has to and add I know you can hear me but I can't, just listen carefully No compensation for the inconveniences caused nor acknowledgment of this glitch, many people in my area are going through this same ordeal ( Alimosho, Lagos). Who else is experiencing this network problems? |
Vinnie2000:Small minded person, who care about the personality of the advertiser when the havocs done is so cancerous, only a kid buy a product because a celebrity advertise them and not minding it's usefulness |
kodded:You are wrong, most people that gamble are into petty tradings trying to get by,once they receive Thier daily wages they run to the betting shop to stake away Thier sweat. Gambler life is so unstable, they could be so dishonest, disoriented, and engaging in business with them will mostly end in premium tears |
Gosh I hate to see the betting advert made by jay jay okocha, not because of the way he dance or his utterances but just because that a so called role model like him choose to lead the youths astray by advitising a gamble schemes that can only compound Thier problems and lead them to depression, suicide, drugs abuse, thievery and many more. Will he advice his children to embark on such a miserable medium to create wealth?, And that of Zack orji suck too, these guys greed is so glaring and they don't care about whose ox is gored. Guys stop your gambling altitudes, no matter how small amounts you stake , it can only ruin you in the long run, slow and steady win the race. Those celebrities that promote betting commercials didn't make their money through that means but hardworks, they are only preying on your gullibility to be rich overnight, as the saying goes: if them tell you say it's so easy to make it in life, my guy na SET UP |
